Completely agree with you, I had the original Gambit controller and absolutely loved it and wanted this pro ps5 version. I wish the price was a bit better. It does not feel as premium as my ps5 edge controller but it has much better attachments. The annoying thing about the edge is that you can't map buttons without a ps5. I think you've missed a lot of the point here. This is a controller specifically designed for fighting games. You obviously haven't played them much or you'd understand a few things better. I entered tournaments as a kid across the UK in the early - mid 90s and you had to use a pad. The six button thing makes a HUGE difference & the d pad is far superior to any other. Fighting sticks are cumbersome. I haven't been able to play fighting games for YEARS due to my thumb being absolutely battered from many years of (especially) Street Fighter 2. This is true with many of us older players. The build quality also makes sense. It's very light and that makes total sense when using an underthumb grip - you want to play like this with something with a heavy build xbox elite? Good luck. The modular build also contributes to the building feeling a bit rattly (personally I'd rather it was just fixed in position with dpad up and six buttons - but I understand as to why the company need to offer something multi purpose). As for no bluetooth. I never use Bluetooth. It's utter shit compared to 2.4ghz. If you can't organise your your gaming equipment properly to the point you're losing important components - that's on you. Besides - if you do lose it, you can buy a generic 2.4 ghz receiver for a few bucks. If you can't do an objective review - don't bother mate.

However I disagree that it feels cheap. I think that’s a trick that happens when the rumble is removed-it feels so light that you think the plastic must be really cheap But the same thing happens when you take out the rumble on a Sony controller-it feels weird and hollow and plasticky That said I wasn’t getting the best clicks out my back buttons. Maybe it was latency (online gaming), but I just don’t want to deal with any problems of buttons not working, etc.
@SilentAndy Жыл бұрын
Completely agree. I think it's the placebo effect to blame here for why everyone thinks it "feels" cheap. Reviving a dead comment section but the OP makes some very off base and false comments. The triggers being sensitive is usually a plus, pressing them on accident is user error not controller error. The term get good comes to mind. But aside from that he said the wireless is only through the dongle. It actually features the full bluetooth compatibility that the original branded xbox and ps5 controller have. Even tilt function works fine through the integrated bluetooth as well. The other difference is the astoundingly better build quality and self repair. It has onboard stick drift fix which is a true fix and not just an increase/decrease of dead zones. It re-calibrates to perfection. It's everything the other controllers do just better. This is not a paid promotion simply clarification by someone who regularly uses all of the mentioned controllers as well.

Even if PDP acquired the patent for the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, it would have skyrocketed the price of the controller to $280+, as well as increased the weight 10 fold. It would not be comfortable in the hands, especially for the way the BFG pro is meant to be used (on-the-go-fightpad for Fighting games, or a substitute for fps sometimes). The controller has so many plusses in today's market that it's hard to skip: - Quick swappable and replaceable modules that can be configured into Xbox or PlayStation layout (or even with Fightstick-style buttons on the right side) - Multiple height quick switch sticks (Great for fps games where precision is 1000% necessary) - Anti-drift hall effect joystick options (Every gamer knows the struggle) - Sturdy and reliable back buttons (Great if you don't want to destroy your hands playing claw) - Multi point trigger stops (reduces time clicking triggers and more gameplay) - Good, swappable, d-pad (the more intuitive, the better) - Purchase options compatible with Xbox, PS4, PS5, PC (Everyone has a good time) - 2.4gh Wi-Fi dongle (Wi-Fi connections usually have 2/3ms faster inputs than Bluetooth, although Bluetooth is more convenient) - Software that works nearly flawlessly with the controller for all its functions, settings, remapping, etc I can't imagine a more perfect controller for the daily needs I would use it for. I would have all the options, and even niche things that I didn't think I'd need until I held it for the first time. You make fair points about the missing features but buyers already know this in advance. I do agree about the sensitivity of the triggers. It's something I noticed right off the bat and I don't like it. Im not bothered by having to use the dongle for wireless though. You are also on point about how cheap the controller feels. It has a 2 year limited warranty but that's not really an excuse for this controller feeling so cheap. I'm disappointed when it comes to that. I do feel like the controller is comfortable despite feeling cheap. I play both shooters and fighting games so I feel that this controller is still more than worth it for those alone. Currently there isn't a good native alternative to this. The DualSense dpad is absolute trash for fighting games(tried the Hori FIghting Commander Octa and it wasn't good enough imo) and I prefer to play shooters from asymmetrical position. The Victrix Pro BFG fills both those needs and ultimately why I refused to buy the DualSense Edge. I'll just keep my DualSense controllers for the games that uses those features. The whole haptic and whatnot doesn't matter to me. All that matters is that the controller will stand the test of time and that the dpad is deadly accurate. It's really hard to find a pad for fighting games I like. I want the accuracy of a great pad but the face buttons of ps or xbox. I would pay premium price for that dpad. Victrix from my experience makes fgc peripherals. What pad users need for fighting games versus like a person who casually plays shooting games action games etc is different. All those fancy features people are attracted to don't necessarily matter. There aren't many fighting game tournament players over the large community, but there are also no real good options for pad players either. Also wired is typically standard for fighting game tournaments. Some tournaments are lax but wireless isn't allowed usually. I'll kinda see how this goes until I decide to buy.

I had to come back and add some more information. If you are looking for a fighting game pad, avoid this pad. Apparently there is more input delay with the Victirx than with the DS5. The DS5 has less input lag than the Victrix wired.

I’m looking to get this controller for shooter games but I’m stuck through 2 pro controller options. Dual sense edge and the Victrix pro bfg, I do think that the dual sense edge is better but the price point between the two is where it gets me. Upping my budget is definitely doable but I feel paying upwards of 260$ for a controller is too much, I definitely need help deciding between the two. If you got suggestions please tell me thanks.

Great vid but I disagree. No one is reviewing this controller from the perspective of Emulators. The BFG is a GAME CHANGER for emulation, specifically, N64. I wish more controller manufacturers would make 6 buttons standard. The Nacon is big enough for 2 sticks and 6 facebuttons. They can make it happen.

Finally, someone mentioned emulation! I recently bought the Flydigi Vader 4 Pro, and I'm mainly using it for several Wii games on Dolphin Emulator, because it does a far better job than my DS4. I also plan on getting the Vitrix to use specifically for fighting games like Brawl, Street Fighter, and etc.. I can still use either for FPS games like Warzone, Apex or PUBG, so all in all these are fantastic controllers for PC.

I bought Xbox series X version today and I put it back in the box after 7 hours of trying to get comfortable with it. Most of it is very good, but I don't have any sort of comfort when it comes to holding the controller. My fingers land directly on the mapable back buttons and even though I disabled them, it still feels like I'm holding something in my hand that I shouldn't be holding..because the buttons move in and out while I'm holding it. My second problem is the large hump at the end of the right and left trigger, its uncomfortable for me as well. Everybody's hand is different and everyone's comfort zones are different, mine just so happens to not agree with this controller. Sure it's a great controller for someone else, but it's a no for me.

As many of the comments have already mentioned, it seems a bit unfair to treat this like a pro version of a standard 1st party controller. It's obviously going to be lacking a lot of features that are exclusive to 1st party controllers, but I think it more than makes up for it by being designed for FPS and fighting games in mind. Besides, there are plenty of other 3rd party controllers available that have a better all round performance in comparison to stock controllers, and they don't even cost more.

As soon as he said a dongle is worse than bluetooth this video lost all credibility and makes this review pointless. A dongle is much better than bluetooth. No where near a handicap, Bluetooth would be the handicap. Also you didnt mention how easy it is to install hall effect modules. This controller is top of the line. Dont buy dualsense edge as there is never any replacemennt stick available, its a scam. Whereas you can use epindon hall effects and never get drift again on the victrix. Shit review. No one wants a pro controller unless theyre basically hardcore into shooters. In which we turn off rumble and haptic triggers. No mic either? Good we dont use that either we use a headset. This controller is better for Call of duty and fighting games. I own both this and the dual sense edge. The duel sense is nice but in my opinion it's kind of useless for fps because the battery life and two paddles. The duel sense I brought for the Sony exclusives. But for fps and beat em up games the BFG is way better in my opinion.

@anthonysantiago4117 Жыл бұрын
@@GearsAndTech I think the edge is aimed more for Ps exclusives which is okay. But my daily driver is the BFG because it's like the swiss army knife of all controllers currently. There's so many options on it. Once you calibrate the remote and map all buttons to the back buttons the edge doesn't even stand close to it because it only has two back buttons. It's lighter and better for longer gaming sessions in general. Has a great battery life. The only thing about the edge that I like is the look and feel and that's about it. It definitely feels more premium. But don't think because the BFG feels cheap it underperforms. As a person who has always been a playstation guy I think I got the remote for nostalgia purposes. But I feel like I get higher kills and win more matches with my BFG vs my dual sense edge. It was a pain in the ass to get used to accounting for all the back buttons. But once I got used of playing with all four the edge went in the holding case. I will save it for my solo games like sports, racing or storied driven adventure games. It's just opinion don't shoot the Messenger.

Actually for me when I rest my hand comfortably, my fingers are far backwards on the L2, R2 So… how do I press L1/R1? Awkwardly crimping my fingers inward? Whereas on PS controllers, my fingers rest on L1/R1, and I can easily adjust to R2/L2 The back button placements are perfect, but this is unfortunate for me personally, because it requires I move my whole hand on the controller in a worse position than the best fit, just doesn’t feel right

Ive used this controller for a year I use it almost daily and play pro games like Apex legends, Black op 6, and yes Ive tried it for Street fighter. Starting with the cons the trigger design is faulty and mid game you may have to reset their position. Additionally if the controller disconnects mid-game which happens 1 in 8 games it takes about 5 to 8 seconds to get back in the game. Pro wise is the controller has a light weight and the paddles feel great to me...although yes having cheap feeling. I was able to keep a great k/d in my games above 2 in cod and Maintaing master in Apex. When it comes to latency and stick accuracy i believe ps5 is just better bro, ive used so many different xbox variant pro controllers and it seems the ps5 has something magical in its sticks.
