I've got a number of different ability levels and learning styles in my class. I came looking for some resources to enable independent revision. I love your approach here. Very clear, showing both the solution and distractor elements. Thanks for the effort of putting this together.

Thank you for reaching out 🙂 I’m so glad to hear that! I’m interested to hear more about independent revision - what is that exactly?

@@GetSumMath It's probably not as exciting as it sounds, just a tool I can include so that a student who has been exposed to the concept before, usually in a previous year, can review the idea enough to re-engage with practising the topic while I'm addressing some of the students in the class while I'm working with them on a different level or approach.

@@themystic8634 Ah that makes sense. It sounds like the revision can serve as a differentiation tool by addressing layers of concepts that students can access at different tiers.

@@GetSumMath That's exactly right. The class that I used this for has students that have, for a variety of reasons, not developed their maths skills in line with their peers. This means that they're in a particularly wide variety of positions in their maths learning journeys. I'm really pleased to say that your video helped some of them today (with the only hiccup being the dialectic difference of using a dot or cross to represent multiplication, a good learning opportunity itself). I had three distinct learning sequences of learning for students to pick from today, and they showed very solid motivation (more than they have for single path lessons recently). Looking forward to continuing that strategy. Thanks for the conversation. Always nice to discuss educational philosophy.

Info for other students Circumference: The circumference is the distance around the edge of a circle. It’s like the perimeter for circular objects. Perimeter: The perimeter is the total distance around a shape, like a square, rectangle, or triangle. Difference: • Circumference is only used for circles. • Perimeter is used for any other shape (like squares, triangles, etc.). Real-life example: • Circumference: Think of the wheel of a bike. The circumference is the distance around the edge of the wheel. • Perimeter: Think of the fence around your backyard. The perimeter is the total length of the fence that goes around the yard. In short: • Circumference = Circle’s edge • Perimeter = Edge of any other shape

What in the question would change that we would also count the 4 And 3 At 1:04
@GetSumMath
@GetSumMath 13 күн бұрын
We would only use the straight up and down (dotted lines) for the area, since those are the heights. But, since they are on the inside, you won't use them for the perimeter ever
