I don't comment very often, but i wanted to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Jason Carl for this amazing work. I always wanted to play a pen and paper rpg game, specifically Vampire of which i love the lore and all of that, but unfortunately i never had friends interested in this things, so L.A By Night is kind of an opportunity for me to be a part of this, even tho i'm not really a part of this, but i'm sure you know what i'm trying to say. So thank you Mr. Carl for this, and thanks to all the palyer involved... Really interesting story and characters. Looking forward to new adventures! It's always a treat to see Ms. McAdam as Eva. She looks absolutely stunning as always. I also love how the dynamic between Eva and Jasper has evolved over time. Such an unlikely and awkward relationship, yet they somehow make it work. Edit: Wow, so Katya kinda came out of nowhere. Definitely an interesting little twist.

Such an interesting development. I feel so invested in these characters, that I was silently rooting for them to work out between them, what happened in the season 3 finale. Jasper and Eva are really captivating to watch, and I enjoy the conversations they have with each other. The fact that they can sit and talk quietly for almost an hour, shows that the players are super into their characters. Such a lovely thing to see. I really hope that my next Vampire game will have this kind of involvement - even if none of us are professional actors, you can get far by just being dedicated to expression your character.

@@mikegould6590 from his characterization in VtM bloodlines, nothing about Strauss is petty, it might seem petty, but he is the Xanatos gambit mastermind type. And he's not above from admitting that somethings are just way ovet his head, unlike the late Lacroix. As it is Strauss' play using Eva sire is not a powerplay within the Camarilla, but for the good of the Tremere itself, since Houses Carna and Goratrix now made up the new pyramid. The former a break off of the old pyramid, and the latter the ex Sabbat Tremere antittibu (which is ironic if the rumors about the leader is true). Clan Tremere loyalties are always to the clan first, sect second, so if anything Strauss' strategy here is to keep the apparent Carna representative to LA in line with the main clan's agendas.

Josephine your choice to have Eva feed with a tinge of pyschadelics as a way to cling to a lost humanity made my jaw drop as I cursed out loud. Super brave, heartwrenching and creative. You and Alex are masterful in your portrayals, every glance and gesture or absence of made the hopeless romantic in me yearn for their success. You are always both so truly present and listen so well to each other. When Katya arrived, a part of me wondered, or knew that you must have been aware she was coming at some point but you played the shock and surprise so well it made me second guess if Jason had kept it a secret. Mr. Ward I can only say you are master of your craft! Mr. Carl you have taught me so much and entertained us all so much, I can not wait to see what you have in store for us next. Thank you for all the joy and heartache you have given us!

I love how Eva's body language shifts whenever Jasper starts talking about things to do with plans or intelligence, it feels more significant than just intrigue toward the plans and such and instead that alongside significant interest in the individual it's all coming from. It's very possible that my brain is just inserting that given the nature of their relationship, but either way at least to me it's in all a great flourish in the storytelling of her character, their interactions, and their relationship.

@SilverandSoul I don't think Evas problem is with the Tremere so much as Strauss. I think it is possible if Strauss and Vanevar are removed that the Barons will return to /"work with " the Camerilla. But it would be effectively a different Camerilla with all the problems experienced by the Anarchs removed. The Anarchs won't accept Tyranny, taxes without their say so, the prince acting as he pleases in any Barony but his own etc. The Anarchs will accept traditions : Masquerade Domain: A kindred's hunting ground is his own territory, and he rules it absolutely. Progeny: Sire only with permission of one's elders. Accounting: Until childer are released, their actions are the responsibility of their sire. Hospitality: Honor the domains of others, and present oneself to the ruler of any domain you visit. Destruction: The right to kill Kindred is reserved for the Elder of a community. Only an elder may call a Blood Hunt. The Tower claims to respect traditions but really they want power not tradition. the anarchs just want to share power.

@SilverandSoul 1. It might have been a cam plot to get the Prince killed and he was only a puppet just as the one before him was, 2. "great beasts rules over lesser beasts" is a fascist notion! No structure has to be that by necessity. Nor is it necessarily wholly true. It is a similar argument made today for third and fourth wave feminism of a "patriarchal hierarchy" for the last few millennia and that men for example are paid more than women. It is a false proposition! that there is/was a "patriarchy" or that men have more money better jobs etc. on average. Likewise the "master race Kindred" ruling is partly a myth but even if true not a necessity! 4. Is just more of this fascist notion! Im not denying that hierarchy or order or rules are not necessary or that anarchy is needed. Anarchs are not anarchists! They have rules too! Tyranny is NOT necessary. The governed can consent to their government. Human society had an elected Republic in Rome and then a tyranny of Emperors but it eventually collapsed ( due to the fat that such a "Patrician /Ruling class" tyranny doesnt work! ) Power in the hands of Monarch gradually had to be shared with others and with their consent. It isnt perfect but people nowadays are living better than any time in history. There is NO REASON Kindred society can't do the same! Diablaries and uprisings can be prevented by establishing laws and rules for the government to govern the governed.

Why do I have weird feeling that Katya is somehow linked to the eastern European Tremere, and maybe Tzimitsce... I remember from way back when - since editions changed some things from the old ones in matters of lore - but as I recall Tremere had a familly of revenants that defected from Tzimitsce and joined the Tremere during the war... They couldn't be embraced as I recall - but as I said things change.

Damn I just love the physical acting Alex and Josephine do. Look at him just looking over Eva both protectively/but also aggressively towards Katya. It feels so predatory as appropriate for a vampire. Alex is such a good creature actor. I see why he chose to play a nos. And Eva looks so uncomfortable, her body language and the way her sire speaks to her just conveys the manipulation and abuse she’s suffered from the tremere. Well I guess Eva had to deal with Jasper’s ex and now Jasper has to deal with Eva’s. Full circle. Hope nothing tragic befalls these two and they can stay together. They have such an interesting contrast. Eva being so human for a kindred, she had never killed until recently despite being at least 40 years as a kindred. That means she has always been hungry for her whole existence as a kindred. That is some strong will. Contrast that to Jasper who has killed many, and certainly been a real monster himself, but he still clings to that light on trying to be better from Annabelle and Eva. At least Eva can provide Jasper a solution if he is willing to take it. Her blood without blood bond. Though I’m sure he doesn’t want to hurt her, but that seems like the only way right now, unless Jasper can stop drinking kindred blood. Unsure if that’s because he is addicted since his first feed was on a kindred or if he has some sort of condition that requires more potent blood for him to feed upon. I wonder if he can ever switch to normal mortal blood.

As relationship and as characters in a drama yes. But as RPG characters they have not developed strategies through a combination of their skills. Using Eva and the Tremere to investigate the Zelios Map Room was the only such move. Victor used her to help rescue Jasper but obviously Jasper was not partaking in that. They used her to charm a few jackets and it helped Annebelle immensely when the Gangrel attacker her. some more armour and some more location items embedded in their bodies would be of assistance. Even the Lascombra will have to go into contact with shadow tendrils. and eva can do the same for weapons as she can for armour enabling normal daggers to harm Lascombra. Jasper has a library, a backchannel to the Nos ( which he doesn't have to go through Victor to use) and extensive knowledge of how to navigate the labyrinth. They could be developing skills and rituals ( rather than researching new one because they don't really have the time for that when at war) and churning out weapons armour and wards etc. they can combine magic with technology. strauss easily avoided protection glyphs but he can't avoid setting off ward alarms by either tripping them or dispelling them. such wards can be linked to camera systems which will identify attacker numbers and capabilities in advance. A floor covered with talcum powder cameras and passive sonic devices will detect the footfalls of invisible denizens. He may need Ib not Eva to fix the mirror. But in combat both can become invisible and Eva has huge attack potential. With Jasper using one of Victors Rauff? pistols you have two invisible high impact attackers. If both sucessful they would probably disable or kill Strauss or even a monster. The Tower are utilising Tremere assets Victor should do the same.

It's a balance. Jason already put them in peril, and everytime he does, they learn from it. That's what this is about. Just wait a bit (hoping for many more seasons) and they shall be a unified, cooperative bunch of coterie.

Since the destruction of the Prague Chantry Tremere can't blood bond . the blood bond was what kept the Cam hierarchical system in check. Tremere dont have it and they can also break it for others so the Cam has to change. Rather than using supernatural control and threat they need to motivate the underlings. There will still be bosses and servants but like democracy their absolute power will now be regulated.

i have such a soft spot for this storyline and these characters. I've played the Love of the Damned as the weirdo (abandoned lasombra shovelhead in a cam city that talked his way around being killed out of hand protected one of a Malkavians personality, fell in love with the second personality and ganged up on the third personality to destroy it with the other two since she was a sadistic monster... ) I got bloodhunted by a prince who also helped me escape the city. good times... he's in San Fransisco... dammit martin, out of the bloody frying pan into the goddam second inquisition...

Curse you KZbin I just finally got a notification about these epilogues and finally caught up! As always, the players are wonderful and I love their commitment to their roles. Seeing Jason participate more and interact as the NPCs is a joy. The hunger is on me and I want more though, more epilogues and I am about to frenzy for season 4 especially after watching Eva and Jasper, beauty and the beast. Here's hoping Jasper can teach Katya just what a 'little boy' he is! :D

While I may critique and analyse the long term gameplay and strategy ( from the comfort of an armchair and with access to knowledge they don't have and analysis being my forté anyway ) I can't fault the acting, costumes, production, on the fly storytelling or NPC input. It is of a remarkably high standard. I'm reminded of series like "The Lost Room" which I though had so much potential and wished would go further and would hate to see La By Night go a similar way.

I think I've had this conversation, too, when I was 15. No overbearing insulting mom interrupting, but moms had a tendency to be more envious than brusque with that monster in the room. Oh, crazy days, but these vampires do seem to revert to adolescent relations upon their making, and it seems they never grow back out of it. Except Fiorenza. She's a grownup -- at least one in their society -- a nanny among the crowds of petulant, posing, insecure children. That's not even a criticism. Just an observation.

​@@Nikita4ever7000 Actually, that's a great ending for them. I'm sure we all want to see them loving each other forever, but Vampires aren't everlasting. The beast claims them, sooner or later. I respect what Eva is trying to do, and i can see that Jasper wants the same, but they're kidding themselves. Vampires don't get more humane as time goes by and they feed more and end up needing more blood. I think people expect Vampire being a game with a happy ending, a bit too much. I do too. It's normal to want those we like to be happy, but it's not that kind of reality. Victor said himself: "What we are is hunger". The truth of the matter is that the Vampire is the Beast, not the shell it wears. Jasper and Eva are not exactly the Vampires themselves ( altho their habits were completely changed from the Embrace ), but a shell their Beasts wear to walk around mortals and feed. This shell is the human they once were, and it keeps the Beast at bay. But one night, they WILL fall to it. I would rather see them accept their ending together holding hands while proclaiming undying love for each other. Because no matter what, they'll be food for the Jyhad as long as they "unlive".

I don't think Kayta shed 1 tear the entire time she was there even when she was burned. Here's what I think happened: Strauss wants Eva (Dead, Dead) & he's making Katya be the one to do it since she turned Eva without Permission. If Eva goes to meet Katya without the entire Coterie both Jasper and Eva will probably die. Without everyone there to back Eva they are both dead, because even with Jasper there something tells me they aren't a match for Strauss. Please Jasper & Eva take the Coterie with you when you go to talk to her. I truly believe if Katya had found Eva alone without Jasper there she would have killed Eva right then.

I think when Katya says she will do everything to Free Eva she means the last death. Jasper needs to stay very close to Eva. I think Katya and Strauss are behind the "Blood Tablets". = Katya sounds like someone who's been "Abused" by someone (Strauss) and Now she's doing whatever "Strauss" tells her to do. This is coming from someone who has been Abused. = When you are Abused enough by someone it doesn't feel Normal if someone isn't Abusing You. You get to the Point that you don't know how to react Normally. = Katya is like Someone who's Husband or Boyfriend has complete control of everything they do or say. She might look Confident, but that's only because she has "Strauss" behind her and if she doesn't act this way "Strauss" will Abuse her Worse or Even kill her. = When Katya says it's been really hard without Eva she means that Eva isn't around for Strauss to take out his Abuse on. I notice that Katya didn't protect her from Strauss when he drained her Color. = I think Katya made Eva to use as her personal whipping Boy. In the old, old, days some rich people would have a Servant who would be "Punished" in their place whenever they did something wrong.

I think you started out down the wrong road, then went a loooong way down that road :) . Katya obviously loves Evangeline, and they were clearly involved for a very long time, before Eva left Strauss because of what he did to Katya. If you played the original Bloodlines game, you know that Strauss isn't a bad guy, Eva only thinks of him as one because of what he did to Katya. But like Katya said, she broke the rules, she made Eva a vampire without getting permission from the Prince (presumably so they could be together forever). The punishment for that is death (both for Katya and Eva), so whatever Strauss did to her was merciful compared to what he could have done to her, and he not only let Eva live, he apparently did nothing to her at all other than change her color (possibly so people couldn't tie her to Katya, because if they did they would kill both). However, Eva saw what he did to her beloved Katya and decided that he was a monster, and she didn't want to live by the rules anymore, again if Strauss wanted to he could've killed both of them, but he's not a bad guy, so he let them live, he even let Eva leave and join the Anarchs. Yes Katya does do what Strauss tells her to, but not because he abused her, but simply because he's the leader of the Tremere in LA, he's her boss and she has to do what he says. But like she said, she'll do anything in her power to help Eva, she loves her and everything she's done was for Evangeline, even though it didn't work out as she intended she's done her best, and no doubt will continue to do so.
