SWN does discuss solo play on p. 277; it uses some mechanics derived from his work in Scarlet Heroes. These are all great resources!

Space Aces is a really amazing rules-light system to play with no prep required, the amount of laughs and bizarre situations that ocurrs are just great. Also, it is designed with solo players in mind, gmless and normal group too. Thank you for putting light on this book, because with this you can essentially play indefinitely and create cool campaigns using all the content. Adventure awaits!

Space Aces is SO GOOD! Love it. I actually prefer the rules / mechanisms in the zine version, over those presented in the new book. Those in the new book are a little too rules-lite even for me. But using the rules system from the zine along with the world stuff from the book is a perfect match!

I agree, really good for lots of reasons, they took stats out to make the knacks and professions the factors to change difficulties so in the creator's ted talk he says if you are a Novaball star you can dodge better so reduce the difficulty. A little less number crunchy and also not just playing to your best stats. Overall, such light fun, I know a little too light for some but with the resources you can utilize it in any RPG.

Stars Without Number is an incredible system. Glad to see it get a shout out. The rest of this, meanwhile... sounds like a shopping list. Ooh, I'm gonna be naughty!

Great list! I would add the Advanced storytelling for Entity oracles, for a planet exploration with more hard Sci-FI and scientific experience.

For the last 6 months I am trying to make my own Space/sci-fi Solo RPG. If Space Aces is the cartoony hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy my game is the consequential Babylon 5/ Star Trek (TOS). I use d10 and D6 dice with a light system and a lot of random tables. Currently working on the the different missions depending the character occupation/path. Since this is a one man's work I hope I will finish it in this life time....😆

Great list! I would add the Starforged oracles for a gritty space setting and Between the Skies for a cosmic fantasy setting.

Love that you used the Stellar Conquest map for the background in the intro! I plan to do a playthrough of it fairly soon.

'non human something or other' lol check out Traveller and cover it sometime. Appreciate the info.

I have the original Traveller black box set and have been planning something on it but it keeps falling to the bottom of the list as I really don’t play it much these days… still it is interesting as an artifact and the character creation rules were ahead of their time for sure.

I didn’t know that the Solo Adventurer’s Toolbox had a Spelljammer supplement. I will definitely check that out. I’ve been looking for a good SciFi Trinket list for quite awhile.

This was a great list. The main things that I would like to add are The Game Master's Apprentice Sci-Fi deck and Ironsworn: Starforged.

I just bought the entire galaxy builder set based on your video, they look awesome and are very attractive for solo or even as a DM aid [which is why I bought them], thanks so much for this I would not have known about this product without your channel.

...but, but, where did you get that mounted star map (looks Traveller) you are using as a background mat?...I have seen paper stock versions but dont recall a mounted version. (I too have started a Sci Fi solo RPG mostly based on Traveller core with Merchant Prince and your GM Guide inputs)
@GeekGamers017 ай бұрын
It’s from Stellar Conquest. I’ve never known there to be a paper version …

Fantastic. Exactly what I need. Instead of a solo game, I want to play with my friends as a character and let the group GM together using the Mythic gm emulator 2nd edition. But generating a universe procedurally is tough. This helps.

In the Old, first Bubblegum Crisis source book theres 2-4 pages dedicated "how to run a game" and it's basically a close replica of what Hollywood uses to quickly generate a whole movie or episodes of a TV show. And it's geared towards sci-fi (being bubblegum crisis) It's quite a marvelous, little known secret as the authors of the BG:C source book have a history in TV production and decided to pull the amazing gem from their experience in the industry. I guess as a bonus, you'd get a lot of sci-fi and Cyberpunk world ideas from the source book as well. It tells you how to generate ideas, how to pace the story and how to organize the events into a cohesive story using some table/categories, along with many ideas provided. Really wonderful, little known thing anyone can use to write a book, campaign story... A script for anything.

Thanks for the comment. What is the actual title and date of the book to which toy refer. I’m not up on that game & see lots of stuff around from it.

@@GeekGamers01 "Bubblegum Crisis Megatokyo 2033 the Roleplaying Game", by R. Talsorian Games, inc. 1996. It's only a few pages I am referring to. But I believe they call it a 'beat chart's.

I've been doing a Starfinder solo thing since shortly after pandemic. Recently I turned down an invitation to a friend's house for dinner...she said..."fine...stay home and build your star ships to fight whatever it is because I know that's what you'll be doing!!!". LoL. I love this information and The Hitchikers Guide! Awesome stuff I can use!
