Been on Ozempic since May. Lost 33 pounds but it caused me serious constipation. Ended up in the hospital, was recommended Fibre Gummies and stool softeners. It has worked for me. I still have stomach sensitivities and bad nausea after I eat. Haven't yet found anything that works. Also noticed that I don't have an appetite. I have to force myself to eat. I see my GI specialist this week 🤞 Congrats Shelly, wishing you all the best in your weight-loss journey! ❤

Your video sounded like you were reading the transcript in my head. Your journey is so close to my own. From our staring weight, to the way we are looking at our body like it is a strangers body, baggy skin that you are not hating. It is weird, but I like squishing the loose skin. It is kind of like those squishy stress relievers you used to find on everyone's desk, lol. Now, I just need to learn how to make my eyes as beautiful as yours. I really enjoyed listening to this share.

Congrats Shelley! I’m so happy for you! My daughter and myself are both on it. My daughter has to pay out of pocket even though she was much more over weight than I was at the time we started this. I am diabetic so that’s the reason mine is paid for. I will say I’ve slowed down considerably since July. I went home for our family reunion and caught Covid so I lost quite a bit while sick. Now I’ve hit a plateau. So I will need to make a change like you said more Excercise. I’ve been eating Raisin Bran to combat the issue you mentioned. It works for me. As far as nausea goes I can’t eat eggs and I can’t it mayo anymore without getting sick. My beginning weight was 240 lbs and my weight now is 186lbs. 54lbs. What you mentioned about not wanting to be noticed. When I as 11 or 12 (not overweight) I was teased a lot for developing breasts before any other girls my age. Back in the ‘70’s it seemed to be ok to sexually harass. It affected me for sure. My daughter had a similar experience and gained a lot of weight after that. So I can certainly see the correlation with being bullied with gaining weight. Being more comfortable that way. Anyway, looking forward to your journey and excited for each of us and our journey.

Shelly I just love you bunches. Thank you for being so open and honest about your weight and weight loss and all the goods and not so goods. Iam proud of you and you look beautiful ladybug. I on the other hand have always been thin ( built just like my dad) but as a Nurse, and obsessed with weight lifting and strength training and jogging, I was always being accused of being anorexic. I was so sick of hearing that word. And here I am at 63 an inch shorter and 5’4” at 100 lbs and no assatall. If you will start going and working out, so will I. Talk about muscle loss. It sickening. I have lost all of mine. Anyhoo, thank you so much for talking in depth about your journey on that. Once again, Happy Belated Birthday. Hope you had a great 50th celebration. Oh. Be sure and get scheduled for EGD and Colonoscopy! lol. Oh PCP primary Care Physician 😊. Once again. Great 11 month update. You go Girl. Missed ZEVA again. 😊

Yes, beauty can be at any size with any lovely attitude, but I understand how painful it can be to carry too much weight for one's frame (battled that a decade ago) and how that can affect one's emotional wellbeing. Feeling spry shows. xo

Hi Shelly. Congratulations on the weight loss. It's so much better to do it slow and steady. Rachel has been on Zepbound for about 6 months and has lost about 23lbs. She feels incredible, and I think her goal is now maintenance. It is expensive, but since she has PCOS, it's nearly impossible to lose weight without assistance. Her diet hasn't changed much, just can't eat as much. She's a very healthy eater, and works out regularly, but the scale wasn't moving until she went on Zepbound. These drugs, when used under the care of a physician are truly a lifesaver. I wish you all the best❤❤❤

I'm now down 75 lbs - thank you Zepbound - and am much more at peace with it. Just like you said, I know what to expect this time around and am mentally prepared for it.

I have a feeling that you are now mentally strong enough and confident in yourself that this is going to be the time that weight loss works for you. You sound healthy and accepting of yourself. I have never been on a diet and I have had a sneak attack in the last month of getting rounder and I'm not sure what to do about it. What is extremely strange for me as an older woman is that I think I'm getting more attention now than I have in the recent past. I even had an African guy (young) singing a song AT me on the bus. So uncomfortable. I like to observe, too.

Congrats on everything! 🎉🍾🎊Fifty was a big milestone for me, too. I’m so happy that you hit your goal. Crossing out of morbid obesity, according to the BMI, was a biggie. I’m glad to see you celebrating. I sure did. I’m enjoying reconnecting with my body, too. Even though I stopped Ozempic months ago, my appetite is still suppressed. The weight is still dropping. But I’m also still dealing with an increase in constipation and nausea, which are the reasons I stopped taking it (along with the cost), but I’m handling them well enough that I’ll consider going back on Ozempic when I see my endocrinologist next week. I wish you continued success and a healthier future.

Happy Birthday and Happy Weightloss🎉🎊🎉 You are looking so fantastic! You've always been beautiful, now there's more of a light shining thru you. Thank you for sharing your journey and wisdom. I am stealing to use for my own, "I am the sum of all histories." I have long felt that way, but haven't known exactly how to express it. I also shared your thoughts about the messages regarding satiety that your body had been sending you were lying. Wow! That really resonated with me. I shared it with my PCP and she also appreciated it. Although I am older than you (61 years young) and I am obviously quite a bit shorter (5"1' if I stretch😉), I too started my GLP1 weightloss journey weighing 274. I have been overweight my entire existence, except my first five years. I had gastric bypass surgery 1998, and at that time had reached 308 lbs. I had a 5-year old and wanted to have at least one more child before I was 40. Gastric bypass got me down to 165! It was like the weight loss diet faucet was turned off. One day the weight had come off just as it had from day one, and then it just stopped. I was able to keep that weight off until about 2003. Between the bypass and keeping the weight off, I did get pregnant, had a miscarriage at 15 weeks, waited 6 months and then got pregnant again. My son was born in 2000. By the time he was born and we got out of the hospital after the c-section, I weighed Iabout 170. In 2003, I began to add soda pop with and without my meals to my daily intake. That is a total no no after gastric bypass. The carbonation stretches the stomach and you can eat more. Because I hate sugar free soda, I was also acclimating my body to accepting more sugar. One of the things that happened to because of the gastric bypass is I lost all sense of being hungry. Even though my body had lied to me about being hungry almost every minute, now I no longer felt hungry at all. What I did feel, was the desire to eat my feelings and stress even more than I ever had. I wish I known then and had the money for real therapy. I was on medication for depression and regulating my mood that was linked to PMS and now I know that I was also HDHD. One of the Great things about post-menopause, no more PMS! Slowly, but surely, the weight crept up. My knees got arthritis and are now bone on bone. My fibromyalgia got worse. My depression increased. I had no self-confidence left after the pandemic. I tried to back to work, but had so many physical and emotional things that I was at a point of basically non-functional. UGH! I count myself blessed because had never been diabetic. I think the first time a doctor said the words "insulin resistant" to me was probably about 35 years ago. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with diabetes almost 2 years ago. I decided in February 2023 to go on a partial liquid diet AGAIN! At that time I weighed 274. I lost about 10 pounds, but I was miserable. The food they provided tasted horrible. The drinks were like drinking wet, mushy cardboard. Yuck! And I also realized because of how much I hated the food, I would lose weight, only to gain it back and then some if I did stay on that. I was so fortunate to find THE most wonderful doctor, who is now my PCP. She specializes in non-surgical weightloss and is a certified life coach. Exactly what and who I needed! She prescribed Mounjaro for me. I started on that in July 2023. Just before the first of 2024, my insurance company let me know that they would not cover that medication, but would cover Ozempic. (Like you, I can rant forever about our Healthcare system.) Having been on both medications separately at the same basic dosage, I really do prefer the Mounjaro. But, insurance. Anyway, having been doing the shots for over a year and 10 lbs that I lost on the other diet, I am now down to 206. I haven't been able to get below that - plateau. I also believe somewhat in the setpoint theory. My body seems to like certain weights. 206 is definitely one of them. I've really been struggling lately, and your wonderful info and you being you are just what I needed. Thank you so much for the nudge that I've been needing. May you continue successfully on your journey and keep teaching us about beauty and health as well. I so appreciate you❣️❣️❣️

Congrats Shelly! You look fantastic! I've been on Zepbound since February, lost 45lbs and it's been a total game changer. I'm open about using the drug because, in the past, people sometimes treat weight loss as a kind of "moral victory" since it takes dedication and work (if you loose weight in the standard way), and I did no such work. But I did it this way because it's the only way that worked, and at 61, now I'm mobile, off some of my other meds, and really happy! Thanks for sharing!

I'm so happy to see you doing so well on this and glad you can get it cheaper than what you were paying for it. As for August/September, you need to live girl and if that brings you joy, do it and return to normal diet when you can bring yourself back under control. Good on you for not feeling guilty. As for constipation have a talk with your doctor about laxative pills that contain senna to see if they would be suitable for you when you need help to move things along. Senna is a natural laxative and very effective. What we get here in NZ is called Coloxyl with Senna. You can also get Senna in tea form. Last thing, you're beautiful and therefore so is your neck and your arms :). PS - Happy Birthday! Congrats on turning 25 with a bit of tax :).

I’m an ibs girl, so the constipation is real. Im a vegetarian who eats a ton of fruits and veggies, and it’s still hard. I’ve been on Mounjaro / Zepbound for 2 years. I use magnesium citrate, miralax and senna daily to TRY and stay regular. I also take Olly Keep it Movin’ gummies. I’m also post menopausal which doesn’t help. Every once in a while I have nausea issues after my shot. There doesn’t seem to be an explanation for it. We travel quite bit. I never gain weight when on trips anymore. I don't stress about it as much either. My eating is more intuitive for sure. I definitely don't enjoy food as much, but it's so worth it. I'm happy for you! You look amazing.

Hi Shelly, I started mounjaro in July of 22, I stayed on .5 the entire time. I got to what I considered my goal in may of 23. I have stayed there until now . I have been maintaining by purchasing my own and using it very sparingly. It was worth the money but my new doctor was able to put it thru but my insurance but they will only consider.5 as a maintenance not the 2.5 I had been using. I use as needed so I will be hoarding in the event they stop me again. If I lose ten more pounds that's the max I want to go. I calculated the amount I need to be in order calorie wise being able to maintain. I am 64 this is 5th time I've lost more than 60lbs and I've gained it back 4 times. I keep this weight within in three lbs I do not want a cushion. Keep up the good fight it's tough. 🥰

OMG! I totally get what you're saying about how you felt about your body when you lost weight. I thought I was the only one! I had lost 67 pounds and one day I saw myself in a full length mirror. I got the weirdest feeling of not recognizing myself. I felt detached from my body like you said. I almost felt panicky. And from that moment on I slowly started putting the weight back on. It's really sad. I think, after trying to figure out why, I use my weight as a layer of protection against the world. I am on a weight loss drug as well and it is coming off very slowly. I find myself sabotaging myself a lot.

Maybe worth checking if the b12 in that newer supplement was a different form than the one you had been taking. Shelly you look beautiful!! I was hoping you would give us an update soon. I also hate exercise but I do small bursts several times a day. Five minutes of hand weights. A couple hours later I'll do some squats. You get the picture. It gets my heart rate up a little bit and every little bit helps. I could never do an hour of any exercise:( My daughter told me yesterday a new study was just completed in regard to all the other health benefits that semaglutide has. I know for me my elbows and knees don't hurt as much, my overactive bladder is better, and I think more clearly. I have heard it helps with quitting smoking, too. So I will never feel bad about potentially "having" to take it for the rest of my life. That's one thing I deal with is not wanting to share how I have lost weight to other people as they still think it's the easy way. We who take it know you have to still do the work.

Via trial and error I solved with a daily dose of metamucil in water (2 tsp), colace and a prebiotic (culturelle). Can set a clock by it now. So relieved (pun intended 😂).

We are the same age and my friend had been trying to convince me to give it a try. Will you need to stay on the meds and what happens if you get off? Thank you for sharing and congratulations on all the hard work and progress!
