I think the mechanical arms that put on Tony's suit were originally for helping Tony put together cars, since at the beginning it shows working on cars is one of Tony's hobbies.
@moviereviews4life11 жыл бұрын
I think the reason Rhoades doesn't use the suit is because offscreen Tony tells him he needs one of those arc reactors, he has one and now Obadiah has one, but the 3rd suit you can tell is hollow.

I was making a point on your Iron Man 2 review that improv can work better than staged dialogue and if there was no script for this than I was right. The joke about "No gang signs" to the peace sign pays off... in a subtle way. When the choppers see Tony roaming the desert after his escape he waves his hands in the air to get their attention then when they get out he waves the peace sign symbolizing his character arc and the respect for the soldier that saved him.

I really like that scene with the terrorists attacking the village. It gives the film a realism in that it shows that actions have consequences. Those innocent people are being brutalized and murdered by the weapons that Tony Stark let fall into the wrong hands. It makes the whole thing feel very personal and raw for Tony. Plus it really gets you roiled up to see Iron Man kick all their asses.

In response to the 'Why did he survive?' question at the movie climax. To be fair they both survived. In a deleted portion from this scene, Obediah asks for help from Tony after the reactor overload shorts out the Iron Monger suit. Tony reluctantly decides to reach out to help him, but the floor gives way and that's when Stane falls to his death.

I always thought that the overload of arc reactor energy is what pushes Tony's blood toxicity levels too far and starts killing him

Can anyone tell me where the commentary with Jon is on this film because I have the 2 disk on blu ray with all the features but no commentary. I know there is one because I heard Eric said he watched it so can anyone tell me which edition has the commentary

This question may not be entirely legal, but does anyone know how to procur the Iron Man scripts that Eric spoke of? I know he said he could not find one of them, but does anyone know if the other is still online? I really love to read scripts for movies that didn't happen or were heavily altered...if anyone knows, please be a pal?

Anyways, great review of the first MCU film. I look forward to your other videos. Oh, and I think a Kick-Ass Review would be awesome! I remember seeing Iron Man the first time in Theaters.

Bats makes it clear his plan was to crash the train. He didn't send Gordon as a back up plan, it was his only plan. He even says to Ras "Who said anything about stopping it?" (the train). He might not have killed Joker, but he DID kill Harvey Dent, you can't argue past that one, and he DID kill Talia by crashing her truck even if it wasn't his intent. Not to mention the fake Ras died because of the fire HE started.

the train was out of control because of Ra's, Gordon tried to stop it, but he was only able to stop it from causing the deaths of the whole city. I'm not saying Batman in the comics never killed, in the early years he shot people with a gun and said to people that if they die they deserve it, but in the films he never killed anyone, just let them die. Look at the Joker he didn't kill him or let him die, he did't kill Bane either when he could have

The ending, Staine turning into "full bad guy" and knowing how to use the suit.... well you didn't complain about Tony Stark knowing how to use the costume when he made it in the cave which Staine knew how to use it just about as well as Stark did at the very beginning.Also if your complaint is that the fight took place in the street, well it escalated into the street... like a bar fight. I doubt those people want the cops to arrest them in the street.
@MalzraAirwynn11 жыл бұрын
I disagree. That train specifically crashed because Batman, before even going after Ras, had Gordon shoot out the support. It was Batman's plan for the train to crash, and he deliberately left Ras on it. That's like locking someone in a house, setting it on fire and saying you didn't 'kill' them you just left them to die. Batman was directly responsible for Ras' death.

I wouldn't use Nolan's batman as an example of not killing. He kills in all 3 movies. The league of shadows by setting the place on fire, Ras by setting up the train crash and leaving him with no escape. Havey Dent by tackling him off a building and breaking his neck in the fall. Talia by crashing her truck. The guy doesn't have a clean record.

I think maybe you guys take things out of context sometimes. The scene where Pepper says "What's that?" when Stark tells her it's like Operation I took as her of course knowing what Operation is. It was her confused on why he would make light out of her sticking her hand down his open chest hole.

Iron Man 3 came out in the uk Last week i saw it 3 times in it's first 2 days, I hated it the first time i saw it but i saw it later that day coz i friend wanted to see it and i had the money to see it again, and the second time i really liked it, 3rd time i loved it (but there is still one plot point that killed the movie for me the first time around, i'm ok with it now because there was a good story based reason behind it but i still wish they went a different way)

i know what you mean but still he never killed anyone unless it was the last option and if he chose to not break that one rule and let James Gordon Jr die or Gotham blow up or let Ra's live so that he can try destroying Gotham then he wouldn't be a hero. Dent's death is brought up in Rises were he's wanted for Murder. Talia hates him for letting Ra's die in fact when she says he murdered Ra's he doesn't deny it, as for not addressing Talia's death well there was only 20 minutes runtime left
@MalzraAirwynn11 жыл бұрын
Never said he killed Harvey on purpose. But he DID kill Harvey. I'm not saying Batman made the wrong choice in killing these people, but the fact is he DID kill them and it's never brought up, and he clings to his 'one rule' of not killing in all three movies but conveniently ignores it when convenient for the script. Oh, he has to stop the Joker without killing. Fine. But then it undercuts the whole theme when he has to kill harvey, even on accident, to stop him. Intent to kill or not, he kills
@MalzraAirwynn11 жыл бұрын
And that's not even touching on the fact that he KILLED Harvey Dent by tackling him to the ground and breaking his neck int he process. No 'just not saving him' loophole there. And he caused the crash that killed Talia in TDKR.
@MalzraAirwynn11 жыл бұрын
And finally before I head back to work, I know Dent had a gun to a child's head. I know he had to stop Talia before the nuke went off. But when he directly causes somebody's death and it's just glossed over and never brought up, it's very distracting when his 'one rule' of not killing is supposedly a cornerstone of the character. I'm not saying bats should have acted differently in those situations. But he did kill those people, even if it wasn't with a gun or neccisarily his intent.
@MrBANE199211 жыл бұрын
Talia I can understand he was trying to stop her nuking a city, he set the league of shadows HQ on fire yes but they were Trained ninjas I'm sure he thought they could escape,fake Ra's died from collapsing rumple from the fire but if he wasn't trying to kill Bruce he would have lived,I doubt he meant to kill Harvey he was trying to save a kid he reacted in instinct and tackled him, as for Ra's well he save him once and he repaid him by trying to destroy his city to do it again would be stupid

pt 2. By arranging for the train to crash, and leaving no way out for Ras, Batman killed him. If a burglar broke into a house, and someone locked the burglar inside the house and set it on fire, leaving no way out, that man KILLED the burglar. Same scenario here, Batman is the cause of the train crash, his plan was to stop it from the beginning, and by causing the crash and leaving Ras with no way out, he is responsible for his death. And again, Harven Dent, or did he snap his own neck?
@moviereviews4life11 жыл бұрын

I would hardly say Iron Man is an icon. Superman has permeated our culture in ways that almost no fictional characters have. Iron Man is a movie star that when this Marvel continuity has ended, will soon be forgotten. Don't get me wrong, I really like his movies, but I don't agree with putting them on the same level as far as public perception goes.

I never really got into the first Iron Man movie. It's good but it took 3 viewings for me to make it through. It's pretty boring and there are only a couple of memorable scenes and images. As entertainment it doesn't work for me. It did however succeed as introducing Iron Man properly to the general audience and making us care about him.
