Kenneth Branaugh said in the commentary that in the scene where Dr. Selvig mentions a scientist he knew in Gamma Radiation, he talks about a scientist that he is going to email and they said that it was supposed to be Dr. Henry Pym but they had to remove the extra lines for time.

Also Mjolnir doesn't crush Loki when it is put on his chest because the spell Odin put on the hammer doesn't make it heavy, it just makes it impossible to lift if you aren't worthy.

Love this movie especially after watching the deleted scenes. I always interpreted the ending being Loki persuading and manipulating Selvig in the same way he does to Thor at the beginning when he drops those seeds of ideas

Did you notice how they redesigned the hammer slightly for Avengers? The handle is colored slightly differently and picks up a silver cap at the end holding the leather strap Also, the billboard in the town says Journey Into Mystery More jarring than Ray Stevenson appearing in Punisher and Thor is Idris Elba showing up in Ghost Rider 2.

Yes or last I read he was... I've mostly read the Silver Age comics and in it he is a unusually small Frost Giant baby that Odin and his men find hind in a Frost Giant castle they just raided. At that time it was stated his father abandoned him there because he was ashamed his son was born so small.

I agree, I think the problem with The Avengers is that it has so many heroes that it needs to focus on that we don't get enough time to focus on Loki and his motivations. Still love that movie though.

In actual Norse mythology the reason Odin is missing an eye is during his adventuring years and in his search for wisdom and knowledge he went to this magical well of Mimir that a single sip could give you all the knowledge of the universe but the only draw back is you have to give back as much as you take from the well so for the cost of a single drink he gave up one of his eyes!

Also I like how Thor instantly takes down the Destroyer with no effor when the warriors three and Sif where nearly killed by it. It makes me wonder what exactly the point of the warriors three and Sif is when Thor clearly doesn't need them,

Regarding the Paramount logo ... Paramount had the distribution rights with Marvel Studios before the Disney eal. Disney paid $115 million and 8% of the gross of The Avengers and Iron Man 3 to recover the rights from Paramount, so Disney distributed (and will distribute) those in theaters and home video, but Paramount got to keep its logo on those (Iron Man 3 still has the Paramount logo on the poster, though Disney is distributing). I suspect Thor 2 could be the first with the Disney logo

Thor's strength isn't inconsistent, he gets his strength/powers back once he gets his hammer again. That is pretty clear.
@LooneyTunesFanatic2712 жыл бұрын
Yeah there is no doubt it feels like just a setup for The Avengers. It takes away from it a bit and leaves you wanting a bit more, but Thor and Captain America are still really good movies. I love them both
@TheComixkid209912 жыл бұрын
I agree with you guys saying that this should have been entirely set on Asgard. I definitely think this film should have been divided into 2 films. All the stuff on Earth should have been in Thor 2. I think that the reason it was done the way it was done was because Marvel rushed things and wanted the Avengers to come out in 2012.
@BoooRatt12 жыл бұрын
The best for me at least example of what the Asgardians are is the oone from Earth-X universe! Have either of you 2 read that series?

When Thor cast him out, I felt he was made into a normal human (albeit physically very strong). He was knocked out by a car (twice) and restrained by multiple people and the straps in the hospital bed. He still had his skillset but not the speed/strength enhancement from his godhood.

Arrow Discussions are usually uploaded on Sundays, so we'll probably see Cap upload it tomorrow.
@BrowncoatAllywang12 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure the reason Thor couldn't break the restraints is because Odin made him a human when he sent him to earth and he wouldn't become Asgardian again until he was worthy enough to pick up the hammer. However his strength is inconsistent; for example earlier we see him take out hundreds of frost giants and that huge monster with no effort so it makes you think that Thor could have taken on the entire chitauri force himself in The Avengers but he can't.
@Vader4700012 жыл бұрын
No numbers, aside from Iron Man 3. I would say it's kind of hard to say Thor 2 or Captain America 2 since the true sequel to both their original films was Avengers. So the non-numbered sequel titles are appropriate

Oh yeah, they're both very fun movies to watch, but I just wish there was lest Avengers stuff. Like Incredible Hulk. It had nothing to do with the Avengers except the scene in the credits. I can kinda forgive this one for having Coulson in it because it does make some sense, but still.
@BrowncoatAllywang12 жыл бұрын
That doesn't make sense because that would mean that whenever Thor puts his hammer on the ground the ground would crack if it actually was heavy, trust me, it's not heavy, it's just people who aren't worthy can't pick it up.
@superherofan2112 жыл бұрын
Um... I think you have that confused with a scene from X-Men: First Class. In First Class, Erik and Xavier approach Logan about joining the X-Men, and Logan does the exact same thing you just described.

and the treyarch logo is the same symbol.
@Lokiofsuburbia12 жыл бұрын
If it wasn't as heavy as the star matter it's composed of, it also wouldn't inflict as much damage as it does. Chalk up the ground not cracking to the fact that comics are stupid, and you're good to go. Nowhere in any comic does it say that an enchantment counteracts the weight of said hammer, rather that if you're worthy, you'll be able to lift it despite its ridiculous heft (see Captain America's episode with the hammer).

If you want to read all about Norse Mythology read the Prose Edda it is the complete works of all still known Norse myths! One reason for this not being so well known in our culture are the things they skip over even though Greek myths have the same or worse in them as well like incest, bloody murders, and unfair by today's punishments... like there is a part in "real" Norse mythology where Loki to make a goddess laugh tied his testicles to a goat's beard and had a tug of war game...
@below6112 жыл бұрын
The only thing I don't like about this movie and Captain America is that it's hard for me to see it as anything but set-up for the Avengers. It puts far too much focus on cross-over characters and plot, rather than focusing on itself. at least that's the vibe I got from it a while ago.
@BoooRatt12 жыл бұрын

I felt this movie was enjoyable and had a fun atmosphere, but was sorely lacking in terms of plot and character. Thor's character arc was relegated to one scene with Selvik. Loki was good, but I feel like more could have been done with him. The casting is good and I like how they made Thor's world fit with the rest of the Marvel movies.

Thor was better than Captain America but both movies were extremely lackluster. Iron Man has been the only praiseworthy film of the Avengers thus far. Iron Man 2 was slightly conceded wanting to only capitalize on the brand rather than a cohesive story.
