Gelatinous Cubes are oozes in the Dungeons and Dragons 5e Monster Manual that act as dungeon roombas. They’re incredibly stupid, fairly slow, and consume most organic matter. Apparently bones don’t qualify as organic matter despite clearly falling under the category of living tissue, but what would medical professionals know?

I love Gelatinous Cubes so much. There's such interesting things, my bard found one in a dungeon once and rolled a performance check to have it dance with it to distract it. It was the funniest thing ever.

My favorite monster in D&D. I love oozes in general, but the cube is easily the best.

We use one to keep the sewers under the Amn Embassy in Waterdeep clean and tidy. We named it Wall-ie. Helps keep the kitchen smelling better too.

so- fun thing about bones and acid. bones are made of callogen fibers and calcium. this grants them their tensile strength and hardness respectively. given that a gelatinous cube is acidic, it would dissolve the calcium, leaving behind squishy flexible bones. the cube leaving bones isn't *that* unreasonable. unrelated but if you were to bake the bones, you would destroy the collagen, leaving behind the calcium.

Extreme temperatures and too much sunlight could maybe cause the moist of the simple ooze like the cube to evaporate

Huh, I forgot that the cube is transparent.
