When I told my friend about this monster she wanted to ad a pink ribbon tied in a bow on its head.

I homebrewed a wizard subclass called the “School of Nightmares”, a subclass that allows you to weaponize the “Frightened” condition. To test it, I used to build an Oni Character, a Darklord of the City of Nod from the Nightmare Lands.

I don't think a devil would be handing out promotions in the midst of combat, even if it was tactically sound. They're very ordered and organized, so there would be requirements that need to be fulfilled and checklists that have to be filed and approved from higher up, etc. If they did it in the middle of combat, that would (at least) double the paperwork. Dying might actually be preferable 😂

"Because they were never alive" So I'm a problem player sometimes, not in a game breaking way; etc. But in a intrusive thoughts sort of way. What would happen if we used Miracle or Wish to make an Atropal alive? You know to "finish" what the lazy gods started but couldn't be bothered to complete. I'd think it'd be some sort of celestial but not quite a demi-god ya? Or depending on DM it might cause some sort of rejected by reality backlash which could have some weird whacky side effect. Fortunately as a player I've grown enough to bring these ideas up out of game with my DM BEFORE trying/declaring my action so if they: A: Didn't expect it. B: Do not like it. C: Do not know how to respond. D: etc Then I just don't. But if the DM is cool about it, or if I'm DMing... oh boy the possibilities.

If wyverns had flyby, they would just cheese every battle. They'd just swoop in, sting the target, then retreat and let the poison kill the target from a safe distance. Fun fact. That's the strategy vipers and Comodo dragons are using. So it would make sense for a venomous reptile. Not sure if it would make for a fun fight though

so- fun thing about bones and acid. bones are made of callogen fibers and calcium. this grants them their tensile strength and hardness respectively. given that a gelatinous cube is acidic, it would dissolve the calcium, leaving behind squishy flexible bones. the cube leaving bones isn't *that* unreasonable. unrelated but if you were to bake the bones, you would destroy the collagen, leaving behind the calcium.

I feel this would make more sense if the death kiss was a construct. But that’s because me with the help of another person who did the brunt of the reflavouring. Came up with this idea for a construct beholder based off the fabrication machine from 9 for the Eberron setting. Instead of draining your blood, it’s your soul instead.

I once had this tiefling whose father was this Great Faith warrior and mother was a succubus. The succubus demon lord father used his daughter to corrupt the man, but in my story true love and faith did win out. So the tiefling was born. Played her like the typical rich Valley girl. It was very funny.

Terribly sorry per the rules, you're only allowed to make 1 attack with your main hand and only an extra attack on your bonus action. Thus, of course, the remaing arms just flail about menacingly! (Oooo scary) Now, if you care to toss out the insanely stupid d&d rules for dual wielding, maybe we can entertain your 6 arms attacking the party. Until then, keep your illogical notions quiet, please. I mean the arrogance to think that because you have 6 arms, each holding a sword that this entitles you to actually make an attack with well, each arm. The audacity! I mean, if we were to apply that kinda of logic then seeing as I have TWO arms, then logically, i'd make TWO attacks in a combat action with an option for a third bonus action attack with either main or off hand weapon. Pesky, how logic works. The above was a somewhat embellished account when our DM tried to introduce a Marilith into our campaign. To his surprise, the party was not happy, and basically stipulated either you play by the same rules we do or we modify the rules. So, in actuality, Marilith could make 8 attacks one for each 6 attacks with their arms, 1 tail attack, and if they choose an extra attack with any hand as a bonus action! The moral of the story is that you don't introduce a creature that explicitly breaks rules, that players are stuck following probably not gonna go overwell!

death knights thematically are my favorite monsters. I feel like there aren't enough bad ass warrior fights in high tier dnd and this guy definatly scratches that itch. However, you;re like the second guy I've seen look at their statblock and yeah I have to say their moveset is quite lackluster. A simple fix I can think of is giving them the sword blackrazor, the good part is if you kill someone, you gain their max hp as temporary hit points and as long as you have them you have advantage on all attacks which is brutal. Especially if you purposefully give them npc allies just so you can use them as power-up batteries for the death knight.

I would say that a demilich created by a lich being slopy with self care is weaker than one created by a lich actually preparing himself for the next stage of lichdom with a ritual. The difference could be as simple as the later still having his spellslots.
