The only way to get a gem directly from the mine is knowing someone who owns the mine and can ensure the original gem travels to you. I have seen this happen with my own eyes and it’s expensive and more Importantly you need to have the trustworthy contact.

I wonder if this is done ethically. Funny how a country can Be rich full of expensive gems but remains in poverty..something isn't right. With riches like this sri Lanka should be thriving and not a third world country. Thats why I buy straight from a miner. I avoid buying from countries that don't source their gems ethically.
