Buying it! I love my Spellbinders 6, but I use it so much and it can become kind of tiresome after hour or so! I will still use it for a dies that are easy to cut, but I will use my Gemini Jr. for those CC THICK! embossing folders, which warp in the Spellbinders 6. It's always a tradeoff with crafting!

I love the Gemini my family gave me to minimize hand strain from cranking my other machines! The small amount of noise it makes is ok with me! Jennifer’s efforts to help the die cutting community cope with the plates warping, breaking, and needing frequent replacing has helped tremendously. She did a more recent video, about using double sided die cutting plates too, you might want to check that one out. I always enjoy your videos, and your honesty makes me laugh!

I'm very pleased with the machine. Might I suggest you carefully consider what you want from your machine? Remember it will be with you for years to come. I rarely use my mini die cutter and found I really just wasted money on it. If I have little things to die cut they can be easily cut on the larger (reg size) machine and I can also cut or emboss everything else I have on it too. I would just hate to see you later on regret buying the mini and wishing you had just invested in the reg size (junior). Sorry for the ramble, I just wanted to give you food for thought. Speaking of food... I hear a snack calling my name. See you later! 🤪🤣🤣❤️

I purchased my Gemini Jr when it was the TS on HSN several years ago. I had developed carpal tunnel and it saved my crafting life. Another hack to avoid plate bowing is to use a self healing mat in place of the plastic shim. I place my dies face down so they cut into the mat. The mat eventually gets bowed but they are very economical because I can get 4 from a 12 x 18 cutting mat purchased with a coupon from JoAnns. I enjoyed your video. TFS

Well, we all know (or most of us know) who makes the Stampin' Up! machine (wink wink). Which is primarily the reason I love it so much. I love my Gemini Jr.!! I had been sitting on the fence for about a year trying to decide if I was going to buy one. I was a bit concerned about how noisy it would be, as I often craft while my husband is snoozing. Then I heard you talk about getting a great deal on Amazon during your World Cardmaking Day video, so I paused the video (replay) and went straight to Amazon. The price was awesome so I bought it right then and there. And then I resumed the video. That was on a weekend, and the machine arrived later that week. I will still use a manual machine when hubby is snoozing, but I will get a lot of use out of the G.Jr. Thanks for the great tip!!

Gemini is the best die cutting machine I’ve ever owned. I had dies that Zi had given up on cutting with my Big Shot or my Spellbinders Grand Calibur. I just watched your 2020 and 2021 videos on your top 10 products. (I also watched your video on why you left StampinUp). I love this video comparing the Gemini and the SU crank machine. That info and comparison was incredible. I do use a used dryer sheet(not my invention) to release the small pieces from intricate dies and the cardstock. It works really well, but the Gemini made me stop and think about getting one! Also, I am blown away by the Aleen's Tacky Spray for the dot to dot gluing of intricate dies. I am a boss at the dot to dot technique but it takes so much time. I thought spray would make my cardstock oily. Now I know differently. I learned so many things in a short amount of time with you. You are a genius with how you've worked with so many products and supplies and found the one that works the best for less money and showed us how and why. I so appreciate who you are in the crafting/cardmaking world. I don't make cards or craft for money, but I always look at videos to get ideas, and how to use products. The blender thingy's-oh my goodness. Genius. The explanation on how money is made with links, etc. was eye opening. I know I am all over the place with referencing several of your videos, but once I started watching why you left SU, I kept watching your other videos. I made lots of notes and can't wait to redo how I do techniques in my cardmaking. So, I thank you so very much for these videos!!! I only make 3d projects and the biggest problem I have is the marks the dies make in the clear cutting plate, transferring onto my cardstock. This creates an awful look when you're for instance making a box. I remedy this by buying a cheap A3 cutting mat that I cut in half and replace when it starts marking my cardstock. The thickness is identical. Generally I find that the bigger the plates the more chance you have of them warping. I find that using the plates for the junior in the A4 machine or using my Gemini go as much as possible helps a lot. Thanks so much for your video on this!

Only you know how you use your plates, your comment is very harsh and perhaps not really necessary. This is the first time you've ever posted on my channel and I think you could have been more graceful with your comment above and reply on this comment. $300 in plates? Seems like an exaggeration, which may or may not be an indication of how your machine really performed. 🤨 But let's go with benefit of the doubt here. There are so many reasons plates warp and the number one is not taking proper care of (and flipping) them. There isn't a machine in the world that will produce expected results if you don't do what's recommended by the manufacturer or even those have experience with the machine. I've tested this, as has Jennifer McGuire (for a year might I add) and I too have no issues with the plates or the machine. What you do with your plates and machine in your home is your business, but I suggest you try the DIY Sandwich and flipping them after each pass to prevent issues. Or other options that experienced people have found to be successful before you go barking in comments. The machine is amazing if used properly.🤨 Happy Stamping 😁💗

I agree totally with Jim Kern’s comment from 3 days ago. My EXPERIENCE, not an opinion but what actually happened with my Gemini Jr., was that the cutting plates did warp badly and immediately. I even changed to brand new plates and tried sandwiches that were suggested on KZbin instead of the sandwich I found in the machine’s instruction booklet, and the same thing happened. The dies that came with the machine could not even cut the card stock. I think that quality control on the machines must be really bad since so many people have had the same problem. I knew I was taking a chance in buying the machine after reading many reviews. I returned it and bought a much better electric die cutting machine.

I did try her sandwich, sadly with no success. I think that my machine just had too much pressure? @@t.terrell7037 First off, I wanted to tell you that Gemini has new cutting plates that are supposed to be much better. The ones I’ve seen in KZbin videos are a very pale green, so I think they are the Gemini Jr. cutting plates for double-sided dies. They are advertised as thicker plates. I’m rather hesitant to tell you what I got. There is no guarantee that you will like it too! I also have noticed that the price has gone up a great deal since I bought mine. I got the Anna Griffin Empress Electronic die cutting embossing machine. I have not had to replace any of the plates or the shim or the magnetic plate. I also got plates for their mini machine so that I can put the plates in the machine sideways instead of lengthwise. I figured that might help keeping them from bowing if they tended to bow. I liked the machine so much that I got the mini machine too! I also use my Spellbinder’s Platinum 6 die cutting machine a lot.

I have the bigger Gemini and I must say I don’t like to have to put card on top of die. You cannot adjust the card and position due carefully on a piece of card to use up the spaces. I have a Gemini Jr. I don’t love it for several reasons, 1) the sandwiches are more complicated than I believe they need to be. 2) the plates are all sold separately, and are quite expensive and hard to find. Lastly, craft tools like this aren’t meant to be plugged in all the time, so it’s a bit of a pain to set it up and plug it in each time. I know most everyone keeps theirs plugged in but I think it’s a fire hazard for this as well as a heat gun.
@_MyInkieFingers
@_MyInkieFingers 2 жыл бұрын
While there are specific combinations for the plates I solved that pretty easily and showed how Jennifer did hers and it works wonderfully with 2 plates. One for the top and one for the bottom I don't see them needing to be replaced for a very very long time. As for the price of the plates, that's really up to each person to decide if they find it expensive or not but they are readily available at Scrapbook.com. Now, as for you comments about devices being plugged in or not, was this information you 'heard' or got directly from the company? As it says nothing of the sort in the manual. We have to remember that a lot of people take things they read on the internet very seriously so it's always best to have solid facts when mentioning hazards as I would hate to have my viewers fear something that isn't really an issue. I'll contact Crafter's Companion to be sure there are no warnings published after the manual was printed. If there is actually a hazard warning I will update the description. 😉💗

The reason I mentioned are all just my opinions. I didn’t mean anything in a derogative way. I’m glad you like the machine. I know many others do as well. I did the taping of the plates as well. I've had it since the first week of October. My plate is already well loved and I'm not having an issue with bits n' bobs'. Not like I have on my Stampin' Cut & Emboss. The only complaint I have it that If I want to die-cut something on an actual card (Like a circle window for example) the tape I put on the DIY Sandwich leaves an impression (where the tape is) if I don't use the side of the DIY Plate that has less tape coverage. So I'm mindful of how I place my cards as one side has much less tape so the card fits on the plate inside the tape folds. Hope that makes sense. That's a fair statement. My Gemini plate now looks like my Stampin' Up! Plate so I tested it again for you. Using the brush again, (very lightly might I add) using the flower die from Artistic Dies (as I did in the video) the die-cut came out with ease. There were 3 little tiny circles in the center. Far less than the many pieces still in the die with the SU machine, I didn't bother counting them as there was a considerable amount. The embossing is still the same result regardless of the condition of the plate so there's no need to test that again. So in conclusion, a very well-loved Gemini plate did not make a considerable amount of difference. But hey, thanks for pointing it out so I can refer to your comment in the future to let people know my findings 😉😁

Only you know how you use your plates, your comment is very harsh and perhaps not really necessary. This is the first time you've ever posted on my channel and I think you could have been more graceful with your comment and reply on another comment.
