@@Flippokid Oh ok yeah I see where you're coming from. I'm amazed that cgi seems to have regressed since a decade ago.

@Azmon Rougier I wasn't referring to that particular effect, as it is absolutely stellar. I misspoke. I mean the other aspects of cgi seem to have taken a far back seat, as far as realism, to creating faces.

This was the first pitch meeting I've seen. That was 2 years ago. Nice to be revisiting this for the 15th time.

Honestly, the only way I would be interested in this movie is if Will Smith himself actually shows up in person in this pitch meeting, shrugs his shoulders and walks off screen.

"...and then we're not going to go anywhere with that idea." "Oh, okay..." Just string together a bunch of car chases and other action sequences and people will be distracted enough to forget many plot inconsistencies. But don't forget to have a happy ending or that'll really piss 'em off!

5:49 Yeah, I mean... I work in a tech company in this field (no names or details for obvious legal reasons). Even our media processors aren't able to play that (2k HFR 120fps 3d or 4k HFR 60fps 3d). While it's technically possible to implement it, nobody here considered it a priority. This really IS the first (and thus only) movie that uses it, so putting development time on tech that nobody could use otherwise is considered a waste of money (plenty of other features to be implemented/developed). If more directors would consider using that tech, then we obviously would put time and effort in it. Even with the limitations, theater chains had issues all over while trying to play the movie because it's basically "overspecced". Our servicing had their hands in their hair because all the issues that happened during press screenings and premier events.

the "a very risky punchline" punchline is one of my favorite variations on a theme i've heard on this channel in a while, and one that i expect to see as a title for a 'no holds barred' stand-up routine sometime in the next decade.
