I like my action three, but I do like the fact that I can hook an external microphone up however, I cannot also have external power forcing me to use battery power. I even tried buying an adapter, so I can have power and the microphone but it does not work. my second drive is when I take the door off so I could put the external mic is very difficult to try to get that battery door back on. It’s frustrating.

It's good if you are still or moving slowly. But while running with rocksteady on, it was not perfectly clear. There was distortion for a second or so.

I love my Osmo Action 3 and it have actually lasted more than 2 hours in -10c when I used it for timelapse. And it is great to use it with my old Osmo Action when I'm out plowing snow with my atv. The quick magnet release is a blessing.

If you are in INDIA then do not buy it at least for 2 to 3 months. I already replaced my OA3 and the second camera also has focus issue. Not DJI team is saying I have to send it to Hong Kong for testing at my own cost. For sending it will cost minimum 3000 INR. Once DJI team send me camera then i have to pay custom duty again. which could be 5000 to 10000 rupees. In countries where DJI do not have repair center should stop selling DJI product in those countries,

Mount my current Hero 7 on the motorcycle handlebars. Would you trust the OSMO mounting system on the highway at 80mph?. Same with the mic mount? Currently using Hero 7 in 1080/30 Linner and the card holds 7 hours. OSMO? What if the camera is set to 2.7K, 60fps, linear? Have my Hero 7 always plugged into my motorcycle's accessory electrical system so never worry about battery life. OSMO? Hero 7 shuts down when it overheats like sitting in traffic in the sun. OSMO? Also, Hero 7 occasionally says repairing video, which is GoPro code for lost my footage. Not find of my GoPro.

I'm really torn between deciding on the DJI and GoPro. While the GoPro has better image quality, the battery and mount on the DJI looks more efficient. Also, is there a good gimbal to use with either camera to minimize crop? I saw your other video between the Inkee and Hohem and I'm wondering if there are other good ones out there. I have the DJI RS3 Mini (For a Sony RX 100), but am thinking about returning it because it's just too big to carry around--hence looking at action cams. I'd like something I can pocket and use on the fly.

Another big issue THAT NOBODY TALKS ABOUT it is regarding DJI mimo app. Everytime I try to use, it is a struggle for me. I have to try so many times to connect to my phone (which is an Android 12). You can check on DJI forum and you can see how many complaints are listed there. DJI is a good company but the action 3 was a complete disaster. I suggest you to try to edit videos during one week using mimo app (Android of course) and you will understand

I never edit on my phone - find it too cumbersome. But I find the Mimo app to be very useful for remote shooting (esp since it offers you a live preview while recording, which GoPro does not), and connecting to my phone to get footage off.

My observation with connecting to an Action 2 and Insta360 X3; if you live in apartments and theres waaaaaay to much wifi networks (congestion), you are SOL. Tried to connect in 2 different office buildings at work (multi-suite and adjacent to apartments), no trouble at home/on travel + at a hotel on a recent trip.

I don’t recommend using the zoom feature on small cameras like this. The more you zoom, the more grain and distortion you get in your footage.

I sent mine back when it having the focusing problems. It was more trouble than it was worth in the field. I though I heard in one of your videos you had returned your as well. I am happy that they finally made it work better but I am fully into the GoPro 11 Black for field use now. Great video as always and we hope to meet you out on the road one day.

for those who need budget wireless mic for DJI OA3, try the ulanzi j12. No extra adapters needed. i bought mine and did various test. am satisfied with the audio quality. just make sure you change your DB +15 onwards it should be fine. (+20 is too loud but depend what you wanna do with it)

I'm glad DJI made some improvements to the Action and worked the bugs out. But I got scared off by the focusing issues this camera had upon release. And now we're only seven months away from next generation of Action cameras being released. The Action 4 vs the Hero 12 video's are right around the corner. Great video, thanks for sharing. And on a side note, doesn't the Hero 11 have a new vertical sensor, that allows you decide later if wanted vertical video? To me this a better solution than having to flip your camera on its side on your mini handheld tripod. Seems to me the Hero 11 has the advantage on vertical video.

You don't need to turn around the GoPro to change modes. The Mode Button will cycle between Video, Photo, and Timelapse. But holding the Mode Button and quick pressing the Shutter Button allows you to then cycle through all your presets by pressing the Mode Button. The presets are displayed on the front screen. The reason GoPro only states operation down to -10°C is because that's the what the electronic components are specified down to. Going lower means you are operating at a temperature the manufacturers of the chips, capacitors, resistors, and so on won't guarantee their part operation at. It might work, but there's a risk that some batches of parts won't function correctly. Most product manufacturers will not claim product operation beyond the component specs. It's a big no no for straight-shooting companies. Full disclosure: I work for GoPro

I really wanted to love this camera. The features and options are great. Alas, I went through three different cameras that had a focusing issue that firmware did not fix. I went with the GoPro Hero 11 at the exact same cost on sale. I am happy with the video quality but do hope that DJI makes an action 4 with better quality control.

it's nr1 action cam. But far from the best. Gopro 10-11 and insta cams are way better image, speks, software. The action1 is better cam on the photo and video. i have oa1+3 and love them. Simple to use, best on oa3, mount, usb mic, and battery case. oa1 vs oa3 i can use 256gb in new and need 512gb minium in oa1. just so much info. oa1 overheat due to hig performance, that is turned down in oa1. so 4k in oa3 is not better then 2,7k in oa1. Hard to swallow, but if you need the best cam, for just easy video. oa1 still the best. i use my oa1 on a tripod now. can crop like 30%

All the points she mentioned are fed from DJI for her to say. She is right however that the Action 3 is the best action camera and way way better than the GoPro, but not for these reasons at all. As a consumer here are the reasons why you should by this camera: 1. wider field of view 2. connect any mic to the USB C output 3. start up times is a league of its own 4. no bugs, and no glitches. 5. color science is just miles ahead of go pro 6. ability to set minimum shutter 7. way better than go pro in low light 8. Never overheats, even in super warm weather 9. Super long battery life 10. yes... the magnetic mounts are good. But by a cage and put on a quick release system..

Just to let you know that you can set minimum shutter speed on the gopros as well... you just need the beta gopro labs firmware, and to use an external app to make QR codes lmao it's a lot of extra steps but it does work!

I have a gopro 6 and honestly I've been waiting for a new camera for a long time. Unfortunately, all Gopros have the same disease: overheating, freezing and constantly disconnecting from the remote control. That's why I'm thinking very seriously about OA3. Video and audio quality is also important to me.

Hmmm, I found the colour on the GoPro to be generally more pleasing than the Action 3. I haven't had any bugs or glitches on my HERO11, and in fact when I've been using the two cameras to film my kayak practice, the Action 3 overheated, while the GoPro kept going. On the other hand, the Super Wide on the Action 3 is amazing, and the ability to connect a USB mic more easily is also a plus. The fast charge times of the Action 3 are also good. As for low light, I haven't noticed a huge difference, and in 4K modes up to 30p the GoPro employs its more advanced 3DNR algorithm. Both cameras are very good and, frankly, I have a hard time choosing between them, although the GoPro generally wins out for me.

I love see you ... blur :D . apart from that, my main problem why I'm more willing to buy hero 11 for now is the dji's problem with constantly changing exposure, which is sometimes too bright and sometimes too dark, combined with a medium dynamic range (we are talking about any resolution and speed here), hard to get something back. The flat profile is also not very flat compared to the gopro.

Nope. Purchased 2 Action 3 cams last week. Build date Sept 2022. 1) Focus problem that was not fixed by the new firmware. 2) There is an audio sync issue on many cameras and DJI KNOW about it and still has not released yet another firmware fix. The solution to fix all of this: returned the DJI Action 3 cams with all the accessories I purchased with it and order 2 GoPro 11 with accessories. I'll wait for the Action 4, assuming they sell a "matured" product.

Tried to work with DJI on a A3 I bought about a month ago from amazon which they state as a "new" version but it is from the og batch of September 22. They basically had me doing all kinds of stuff just to prove that they sold me a faulty camera. All the other specs of this camera are fantastic but DJI was impossible to work with. In the end I was lucky because i could just return it to amazon and get my money back. Moving away from DJI which stinks because I have all their small cameras except for the OG pocket. If you buy a DJI A3 get the ones manufactured in novemeber of 22 or later. They seem to be the ones in focus for the most part. Also firmware cannot fix the focus issue since it is hardware issue. Seen a few videos from russia where they can't return them where they are taking it apart and adjusting the lenses to be in focus.

You could have fixed the focus thing by screwing the lens a little more, or unscrew it and find the sweet spot. This is not a firmware issue, it is a mechanical thing.

For me, acting absurd is to use 25 frames per second in sports cameras, because the action of sports camera with the original other and not to create a cinematic video. There is a sensor that is not even one inch, so it is not equipment for cinema recordings, but for sports. That's why it annoys me so much when reviewers forget about people who want to record in 50 frames or more and review the main ones in 25fps.

False, only the first batch of action 3s have the focus problems. It's been given a firmware update, but compared to the later releases, it's not as good. If you send it in, dji will replace it with the newer model. Problem solved.

I think the Action 3 is dead and done…after the hardware issue / focussing problem, nobody in their right mind would want to invest their hard earned money on something which has every chance od being a dud! Pretty sure DJI has already excess stock of manufactured pieces and they will of course want to sell those off and only then fix the hardware issue which probably will be by the time for the Action 4.
