i made this and 1. you HAVE TO put this in a fridge before baking it 2. take it out of the oven when you see the cookies turning brownish around the sides 3. it would be SUPER SOFT as if it’s not cooked when you take it out but let it rest for like 5 minutes and you will get a chewy and perfectly cooked cookie

I made these and went bigger bolder by browning the butter AND using dark chocolate with sea salt for 1/3 of the chunks, regular dark for the rest. The dough was really hard this morning when I took it out of the fridge and had to wait a bit to be able to scoop it. But that's minor, they turned out FANTASTIC!! Yuuumm! I was planning to do the brownies today and I ended up doing these cookies, super good, I couldn't stop eating the cookie dough. I put them in the fridge for an hour and a half before baking them, when I took them out their edges were good but the inside still tender so I wasn't sure if I took them out too early but if you leave them out for 5 min they still cook and they're perfect. Make sure to leave plenty of space around the dough balls so that they don't stick because they spread quite a bit.

I have a question, I always make this recipe and it comes out lovely. I tried doubling the recipe and it came out harder on the inside not moist . What did I do wrong?

You might have overbaked it this time around. Watch the bake closer next time!

Family and friends agree this is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I have ever made for them. I found it easiest to make the dough the night before and form it into a log about 18" long and around 2" diameter to put in the fridge overnight. Next day (no measuring) I cut it into 16 equal sized pieces by cutting it in half each time until I have 16 dough rounds. They end up perfect sized at a little over 1" thick for the baking sheet and at the 12 - 13 minute mark in our preheated (at measured temp for at least 10 minutes) oven they are done to absolute perfection. The extra wack (#9 instruction from your website) before putting them on the cooling rack makes them look divine with all the cracks open to the doughy goodness inside. Thanks Gemma PS - I decided to try this no measure way of dividing the dough because the dough was so stiff when I made this recipe the first time that it broke my dough scoop. The cookies came out so awesome I had to find a way to make them again without my scoop. Maybe the butter is softer in Ireland so it makes a softer refrigerated dough. I will have to try with the Kerrygold butter available in the US some day to compare. Baking Bolder Everyday

Ooohhh those look perfect👌. Never tried with the chocolate bar, but oh man I will🍫. Where do you leave the dough to age tho, in the refrigerator or freezer?
@biggerbolderbaking7 жыл бұрын
Chocolate bars are designed to melt, chocolate chips are stabilized to stay whole in a bake, this makes them more expensive too. The fridge for aging, the freezer if you wish to hold for a longer time. Wrap in a sausage shape/salami in cling wrap, tightly. You can slice and bake what you need! good trick :)
