I really like how Tom describes how a real collector feels and acts. Sometimes you see a piece and have an instant special feeling and relation towards it, then this is the right collectable item for you, doesn't matter what other people think of it's value. It's the value it has for you!

I've been a collector since I bought Zippo lighters with my mom, just because I thought they were cool.

It would be insanely cool to have a fans collection showcase! Of course, they might not be able to ship the minerals for unboxings, but you could select those that send great pictures and talk about them! Having a display collection is for ourselves, but we all love to share pieces with people and that would be such a nice opportunity to have experts like you comment on some of those! And show them to the world

I love this channel so much! I inherited 3 trunks full of rocks, minerals and gems from an avid collector… and I am pretty new to collecting so the information here has been invaluable. I wish I had all of you to help me ID all of these! Thanks for the work you do!

After your rainbow lattice sunstone video I wanted a specimen so bad. I saved up and bought myself one, it is now my favourite piece in my collection. It's such a magical stone. You guys really influenced me in my choices. Got myself a benitoite and neptunite specimen after that, cinnabar, vivianite and ludlamite, the list goes on. Having so much fun with it. Just small specimens, on the cheaper side and they make me so happy.

I advise anyone who wishes to start a gem and mineral collection to buy what they like and enjoy (and what their budget allows). Our hobby can be as expensive or as thrifty as one chooses. Thank you for another very well put together and informative video.

What a great episode. I've been collecting since I was a kid and my collection has always provided me with a lot of fun. Especially sharing what I've personally found and have bought. Many of my newer specimens were inspired by your channel and your videos. Thank you!

Loved this episode! My favourites were Preston's star ruby and rainbow lattice feldspar, and Tom's fluorite. But I enjoyed seeing them all! I particularly love to have gems set in rings and bracelets so I can wear them and admire them in different lighting etc.

I was passing by a cement production site and they would have the raw rock to be ground up lying there. There was a bright red rock, very smooth and almost the size of a basketball which attracted my attention. It was part of a fossilized pine tree trunk and probably the rest of it had turned into cement filler. I also collected two very big ammonite samples and gifted everything to the national geological institute.

love rough gemstones and specimens. My collection has grown to about 30 pieces ranging from apophyllite to vanadinite, petrified wood, etc. Every piece makes me say "wooooow...." when i pull them off the shelf and look at them. ❤

Shoutout to that Ultra-thin watch that the first collector had on. Fantastic engineering to get such a thin case thickness! Is it a Piaget? Edit: It was not a Piaget, but it looks awesome!!!

I dont know what experience collector I am. I collect gemstones ( especially gemstone with a phenomena like asterism. ) I also love to collect mineral specimens, crystals, pseudomorphs, and other oddities as well as fossils. I also love to look fote rare and obscure minerals. Some minerals I found on the ground, but mostly I grow my collection by buying them. I have beem collecting for 3 or 4 years. I think I may be an intermediate or expert collector 💎

15:31, there is something to be said about crystal, gem and mineral peeps. we just like gift ing crystals in general. Some of the most giving folks in the world. Inno if it's spirit calls to us or if the crystals be working their magic.

I Love the ruby zoisite what a steal that sphere, I bought 2 bead rough strands down in Texas 15 years ago, for a total of $50, and I found giant fossilized mollusk in Iowa, about 3 inches big, and I found a giant hunk of green fluorite at a Rock mineral sale in Amana Iowa, giant piece, everyone was bidding on, but I just had to have it. Mine has perfect corners, but it has silver flecks inside, unfortunately I don't know where it's from,

I want to see my favorite was the baby Amber with the blood in it but I'm in love with all things iridescence so that would be the sun stone but honestly the fossil there's just such a large amount of material there to be identified but then again there's the florite idk.
