I wish!! its pretty hard to come by but deposits do occur in some places around BC!! They're generally associated with the ultramafic rocks from what I hear. 🙂

Wow! It sure was great to see you posting again! And you may not have found a lot, but it was awesome to see you post a video! And i just love sunstone and moonstone! Especially from your area. It is way different then the sunstone we find here in Oregon. And we dont have any moonstone really. And its so pretty. I love the schiller. Most of the sunstone we find is clear or clear with red or green inclusion.but the colored is rarer. And very little has schiller. And i dont know of anyplace around to find moonstone. Bit even just prospecting, you found some and that area was gorgeous! It looked amazing being above the fog and the sun on you. Its was ethereal. Just stunning! It was great to see you put out a video. I hope we get to see you again soon! The jewelery ive seen you produce is gorgeous too. Thanks Liam! Take care!

Thank you!! I've been really trying to up my game in jewelry making and stone cutting lately, it'll definitely be a part of the channel eventually!! True Orthoclase moonstone like this is pretty rare in the mineral world at the moment so i'm beyond stoked to have a place to collect it!! The views up there are just amazing too hopefully next time I'll make it right up to the summit to get a 360 view of the area. can't wait to get back out there again!!

That was a great prospecting adventure! I did a lot of backpacking when I was young and enjoyed it immensely. It does take a few runs to get the equipment just how you like it, but you get all that great country to see and explore while you're doing it. Can you drink the water right out of the streams? I remember doing that before about 1980, but after that it was necessary to use a filter (Idaho and California). I'm glad you found some nice moonstone and sunstone pieces. I'd love to see how you turn them into cabs. That country with the big granite mountains and alpine lakes is really beautiful! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and the fun! Take care, it's great to see what you've been doing lately. 😊

Thanks!! I'm still learning everything to do with mountaineering and just camping in general. this trip really opened up some new possibilities for me and hopefully I'll be doing a lot more of this in the summer!! I've never really had a problem with the water around here its usually pretty fresh off the mountain, just have to make sure the water is moving constantly and is steep enough that its unlikely to have any animal matter in it. I cant wait to start working with this material though, it is very different in formation and some is very close to gem grade. definitely want to make a video when i get around to working with it!!🙂

@@goldmemberr Thanks!! For wildlife I haven't really brought anything more then a can of bear spray with me. I've run into lots of animals but most haven't wanted anything to do with me and steer clear. The best thing you can do is make noise to make sure you don't startle anything. I usually carry a metal shovel with me as a hiking stick and to poke at rocks and when I tap it on rocks or stumps it can be heard from a ways away, great for when your along a creek or river too as it cuts through the loud rushing water sounds🙂
