I think I found the counter to Iron mugulis and it's Runerigus. You see, It's type of ground and ghost completely nullify Iron Mugulis' type of normal which can't hit ghost and electric which can't hit ground. This removes the strongest parts of Iron mugulis, it's strong moves and terrifying stab. Runerigus will have four moves. These are as follow: 1.Iron defence 2.Body press 3.Earthquake 4.Protect Runerigus is tanky enough to survive a couple of hits from Iron mugulis, giving it the chance to set up Iron defense. When the set up is finished, you can go for a body press and knock it out. Body press is a move that bases damage from defense rather than attack and with it having a base defense of 145 (and gets buffed further with Iron defense), body press can hit for super effective damage against Iron mugulis. This strategy also works against the other threat Iron fellow even better since it is a normal and steel type hitting for quad super effective damage. Hopefully these terrifying monsters can be quelled soon. Edit: this also works against Great mugs, which also hits for super-effective damage. If somehow however Runerigus faints, just sue the minion's restaurant for having two criminals in there. These notorious mugs will probably be sorry and stop.

@@socialistrepublicofvietnam1500 Good question. Unfortunately, I don't think so. Albeit their great defences, I don't think anything would live a boosted, 145 base defense body press, Which is why I chose it, and not Golurk. Just incase, we see a new form for sinistea, I gave it the ol' reliable EQ to deal with that.
@ShinyHydrapplTheSyrpent
@ShinyHydrapplTheSyrpent Жыл бұрын
@@bb97979 Good point. But, if we have a scrappy ally, we can make it hit Runerigus and then wandering spirt activates. Then ghost moves suddenly work. I also chose Runerigus because of the defensive roles of a ghost type but this works too.

This is dire news. We need to establish proper communications with "Great Mugs" to gauge its intentions. Us governments of the world have already been overstreched trying to hold down Iron Mugulis and Iron Fellow, we can't have a second Iron Mugulis flying around. We need an update on the status of Flamigo. Flamigo will be invaluable in the fight against the malicious paradox forms, thanks to its Fighting STAB, so establishing proper communication will be crucial.

ADV ou is just peak competitive pokemon. there are so many different sets for the same mons that almost completely alter their role whilst still making good use of the attributes that make them unique in the first place. The only other ou tier that offers a similar level of diversity amongst the same mons is probably USUM but there’re so many more moves available that it isn’t quite the same.

This is why I think there was merit to be had pre physical/special spilt. Because when it came to gen 3 there were mons who didn't need STAB to be successful, in fact I would argue it was more about versatility and coverage. Even sweepers as well. Instead of dedicating a movrslot for stab Pokemon like Salamence and Gengar could just thrive off versatility alone. I would say it worked for some mons and not others, really both pre and post physical/special split have a sense of give and take, even if I preferably lean toward physical/special split and think it is better overall. I do miss when you could vary movepoolsa but. Part of what made gen 3 meta so fun

You can also be dumb/big-brained and use Hidden Power Flying for the Mixed set. Gives you both STABs and still has a ton of coverage while annihilating Fighting types consistently but does need help vs Swampert and other bulky Waters. If your team struggles vs Fighting types but can handle bulky Waters, I'd either do this or go Choice Band. Salamence was the first Dragon type to really appreciate its Dragon STAB offensively, part of why I absolutely adore it and consider it one of my favorites. Good video summarizing its really good builds/traits.

One of the pokemon that didn't quite like the Physical/Special spilt as much as other pokes (until they gave it a better special movepool in later Gens). I still use Intimidate to this day, as it saps precious momentum from opposing teams as they guess the kind of set I'm running. The lore of Bagon evolving into a flying type after wanting it for so long is too precious for me to care about its more basic looking design. Unpredictable? Check. Good bulk? Check. Usable stats & has access to Roost? Check. 7/10 mon. Still very fun to use even now.

@@Rhy2412TitanGamer it was a Big part. Having a strong stab after dd is a huge deal. Hp flying is almost half a outrage, and dragon has more neutral coverage than flying. Even on mixed sets, you can follow up Draco with outrage without losing fuel and getting ko's on bulky water types that used to be good checking mence before. Ofc mence wouldnt be banned without all the other powercreep, but on gen 3 standards a choice band set with physical dragon claw would be pretty hard to deal with.

@@hiei49 I agree the new moves, buffs to old moves, & still retaining the same stats did help it a lot. It's coverage still got nerfed overall, but its breaking power got a massive buff. Even if Salamence got Outrage in Gen 3, it wouldn't be as powerful as in Gens 4 and 5 - for one, Outrage is special here, so it wouldn't be boosted by Dragon Dance (and it'd run off Salamence's comparatively lower Sp. Atk too). For two, Outrage only has 90 base power here, making it only slightly stronger than Dragon Claw with the cost of being locked in and eventually confused. As such, the incredibly spammable and powerful DD+Outrage combo that Salamence loves on the DS isn't viable _at all_ on the GBA - which just goes to show how much of a buff the DS was for physical dragons...
@DisastrousIntentionally

While it was a buff in terms of stab, it was a nerf overall in terms of versatility. Salamence is a way less interesting Pokemon post gen 3. It also didn't really need a buff as one of Gen 3 OU's best mons.
