I think it’s the boomers that think that because I’m Gen X with a 21 year old son and very aware that he’s Gen Z and not a millennial. You can also partly blame Ellen degenerate for that because she’s a boomer that doesn’t have any kids or grandkids and she would often invite Gen Z on her show and call them a millennial.

My mom and aunt were crying about a fat guy in a sequined, high collared, skin tight, bell bottomed, whatever the f*ck suit dying on the shitter, which we thought was hilarious. I was 7 years old, I guess. I remember eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a paper towel watching it on the news with my mom and aunt carrying on behind me. When I was done with the sandwich, I got the Hell out of there so that I could go throw rocks at my cousin as hard as I could, lol. The 70's, lol.

Michael Moorcock famously wrote that. "All art aspires to Muzak." (Puts official grumpy old woodwork teacher hat on.) Yeah, get your own bloody music, kids! Stop bleeding the life and soul out of stuff that was played on actual instruments once! And not something that sounds like a misaligned rear derailleur! You know, that scratchy annoying musical relic sound of Tick, ticky ticky ticky, tick tick ti-ick... crap played through a lo-fi 0.2mm deep phone "speaker." Sounds like the rats in the ceiling formed a band with some chopsticks and foil. (Puts hat back in the angry box...) Admittedly, some of the new stuff is pretty amazing through half decent sound. :)

my babies, millennials have a rich life, they grew up with two parents that opened their eyes to all the best movies music not just from our generation but across all generations. They grew up with Beatles, Bowie, Abba, Nivana, Midnight oil, Cold Chisel, Angels, pink floyd and even a little vivaldi and Mozart, some jazz, and some really cheesy 80s pop and now they listen to all different types of music by choice, My oldest Son knows all the words to any Abba song and he in turn has gifted us with German heavy metal bands which my husband loves xxx

Loved it. Acronyms lol. Not happy jan lol. Chocolate Paddle pops were good! I learnt to drive in a manual car but still don’t have my license and feel like I’m letting Gen X down that I’m now learning auto, Doc Marten’s lol - I had several pairs but my last ‘94 doc boots that I bought in London SoHo were stomped on to scuff them up (as I wore them) by my girlfriends British husband as he laughed and laughed that “no one wears them anymore”. And yes I am having Midlife crisis - How did you know? Lol watching tic tok reels on Facebook ✅, oh and I have a sound system with a 5 cd disk player with dual cassette tapes (so I can relive my teens and make actual mixed tapes and play my mixed tapes that I made) plus a turntable for my vinyl and giant speakers and analog radio. Tuned to 3RRR and PBS. (Tbh I need to donate it to the op shop as I don’t have room at home but I really don’t want to let it go). So yes I have been listening to the same music for 35 yrs because I literally still have all my CD’s, tapes and vinyls. Including the bootlegged tapes from London and Bangkok. Still livid about the vinyls that I took to parties that were lost or nicked. That’s Gen X.
