@Chee235 It's just weird for a young person to wear a full wig and they're not performing. Wearing wigs on roller coasters, at the beach in 90 degree weather is weird. It always looks like a wig, no matter how good. The heavy lashes, the heavy makeup, all that stuff makes young women look older. It's true.

It’s all in our hair, clothes, and makeup, really. If we cut our hair like our grandparents did we’d look different for sure! That is nothing special or unusual. Most people are not able to tell the exact age of women 35-45 because women in this age brackett look fairly similar, especially to really young people like 25 and younger, the difference between a 35 and 41 is not that visible because both are ancient to them 🙂. Once you are over 45 and your estrogen levels start dropping, the aging happens extremely quickly and progresses almost daily...Many women in their early 40s can easily pass for 35 and they frequently do, but not women in their late 40's. The "looking younger than my age" magic stops at around 45-47. > Menopause is the reason why.

I used to use noxema and 10 O six. I had very oily combination skin. I think the Gen Z people are older looking because they are worried about getting all of these products to use on yhe skin. Social media had them worried about what kind of clothes, shoes and handbags they should have. That's just the beginning! Even the woman on this channel is peddling some face stuff that eliminates fine lines and wrinkles. A 20 year old has fine lines and wrinkles?😮 😂

Sad to say I’m gen z, 26 looking like im going on 35. The pounds & weight gain just keep piling on me. I’m so stressed out. I had to join the military at 18 with no help from family or friends. I’ve been paying $3500/mo for all rent & other bills all by myself for the past 7 years, working 3 jobs and I’m exhausted and I don’t even have kids to make the stress worth it. I’m single & I’ve completely given up on having a future, family or marriage. I just want to exist, relax and not be stressed out for once. As much as we’re trying to stop the aging it just seems like it’s too late. But I would really appreciate it if ppl would stop clowning us. Some of us didn’t purposely do anything to make us age this way-I wear my natural hair 24/7, no make up and try to take care of my appearance but it doesn’t help when ppl keep telling you you still look old no matter what. Some of us aren’t drastically changing our looks or adding enhancements and the aging is still happening rapidly because of the stress no other generation before us had to deal with. Please be kind to us-we are the 1st group of ppl that have no community, hated by everyone & have 0 social skills (even when we want to) because of how the world is structured now.

I'm so sorry! This is exactly why I feel like we all could be learning from each other. Between the ages of about 26-29 can be ROUGH. That quarter life crisis time is real---I went through it hard when I was around that age. But it thankfully didn't last long for me and as I got closer to 30, I started to have more clarity and feel more sure about myself. It gets better! Especially when you learn there is no rush at life. People clown getting older when I and many of my peers would agree that life gets better at 30 and even better at 40---I've also had people in their 50s tell me it's even better in that decade. I do not understand how so many people in my generation have become the same adults they used to hate when we were in our 20s.

I’m overweight my early thirties actively doing something about it only now. You still have time do it now especially with less risk of loose skin, it’s nothing a good skincare and healthier eating habits can’t fix.. You will be ok, trust me now is the best time to start. Also look into whether you might have an autoimmune disease (I have an under active thyroid so it does make it difficult to loose weight) look into adding a vitamin d3 and K2m7 protocol into your vitamins, get a monthly vitamin b12 and bcomplex injection that may actually make some difference. From a financial perspective, is the city you live in generally expensive or are you feeling the pressure to keep up? Cause let me tell you, real people aren’t phased by your postal address your people will understand sometimes temporary sacrifices are necessary. All the best I know I was all over the place but I know you will be ok just take it one step at a time 💜

@@allthingsreviewed7434 I was actually diagnosed with Hypothyroidism in 2021, as of 2023-it’s cleared…As in my numbers aren’t even showing on the charts anymore. I started heavily exercising again in July-Nov & barely lost 5lbs so I stopped. I recently picked up a personal trainer and she told me what’s killing me is my metabolism. Basically all those years I was under eating wreaked my metabolism so I basically can’t put an apple in my mouth without gaining weight. I’m currently going through reverse dieting trying to fix it and finally lose the 40lbs. As far as moving, I moved from FL to the DMV area b/c my rent went up over a $1000 in FL. Now that I live in this area my rent is still $1000 more than what it used to be prior to C-19 which is the average across the nation. I looked into roommates but it’s not much of a price difference in my area-maybe $100-$200 less than what I pay now in rent to be ALONE so not really worth it. No families or friends I can live with and it’s been like that since I was 19 hence why the stress for me started so early. I try to be positive but it just doesn’t seem like this will get better for most of us.

Love❤ things will get better. I felt the same way at your age- felt like I couldn’t move forward because jobs made requirements that no one in their 20s could possibly meet. I gained 50 lbs after college and couldn’t get it off. I was in terrible debt and had to do a bankruptcy. And then LOCKDOWN. I can assure you, millennials faced incredible stress as well, just for different reasons n as well as the generations before us. We all just need to stop the division and having struggle wars! Fast forward to 32, I’m still not where I want to be financially but I’m married, got diagnosed with and incurable mental illness BUT focusing on treatment helped me lose the 50 lbs (mental un-wellness can be a sole cause of obesity, especially you’re trying your hardest in ever other aspect and not seeing results). I couldn’t get a drink at a restaurant last night because the waitress couldn’t bet on me being over 21. I been stressed all my freaking LIFE! you know what kept me looking young? Sunscreen every single day and Shea butter. Lotion, lotion, lotion. Water and LIQUID multivitamins. Collagen! Satin pillowcases keep the friction off my face and control my facial expressions even when upset. Wear your sunglasses and hats. And most importantly, find something to laugh about every day. No matter how hard it is, find the stupidest little thing. There’s a difference between happiness and joy. Joy keeps you young and you can have it in any circumstance ❤ wishing you well, sweetness!

am 51 and most people think I am in my late 20 or early 30. My skin is better than my daughters have. But I never wore make up except some eyliner, mascara. My skin is smooth, milky white and zero wrinkels. When girls ask me what my secret is I always say: zero make up, lot of water, no fast food, no alcohol, no smoking, no drugs, no hooking up, enough sleep and no toxic people who give you stress. Choose your husband wisely. And zero gossiping. Beeing positive and having positive thoughts. And beeing kind. Invest in your soul. When older you cant fake it anymore. Everything will reflect on your face.

I was born 1979. I’m like in a cusp of Gen X and Millennials. Some people thought I looked older and some thought I looked younger. Even now. I have a daughter that is a millennial and she is turning 30 this year. My son is 25. He looks like he’s 17. His gf looks 14. My daughter looks 29. Maybe 25. I think it just depends on the person’s perception.

It has been so disappointing to observe the discourse around aging, beauty, and generational trends. So many millenial (thats my generation so I will reference us mainly) women and some men, are constantly undermining the health and beauty of gen z. Gen z gravitates towards an expression of beauty that is more glamorous and refined- much like the folks from the 1950's. They do not look 15-20 years older than their age on average. They have a great respect for the creative aspect of beauty that we can learn alot from. As millenials, we are young. We don't need to find our youthfulness in the destruction of younger generations self esteem. Generation z and alpha, please know myself and other millenials alike are in admiration of your radiant, youthful beauty and i hope we can continue to develop our own beauty and wellness in a way that gives you all something to look forward to. ❤

Thank you so much for you graceful comment. Unfortunately, this video and the comment section (from my perspective), seemed incredibly demeaning and (mean girlish) from older women who feel the need to "humble" the younger ladies. Most of us are not multimillionaire celebrities. So the average teen, looks very much, like a teen. I think people need to go touch grass😂. Too much social media consumption can cause many to erroneously deduce that the most visible people (influencers, celebrities, entertainers, etc.) are the mouthpiece and/or billboard for our generation; and while that may be true SOME of the time, that is NOT true ALL of the time. I echo the sentiments of your precious statements and hope to see more examples (while becoming one myself😊) of men and women growing in the appreciation and gratitude for life and sparking that fulfillment in the generations to come. Again, thank you for your contribution on the topic. 😉

You're right on point! It's definitely a LOT going on with the newer humans. I'm 45 (Gen X) and aging pretty well, in my opinion. I've also never been a smoker, worrier, heavy drinker or into wearing much makeup. PLUS my folks prioritized rest, being a kid, ample sleep, drinking lots of water, eating fruits + veggies, and heavily limiting sugar. That all carried over into adulthood---along with wearing sunscreen, etc. There are quite a few factors to consider regarding the way (and extent) people age...On another note: WHY do people hurl age-related insults at one another? NO ONE has control over when, where or how they're born. That will always be laughable to me. LOL Great content, as always!

Let me get a clean shave and get a hair cut or twist my hair I blend in very well with 28-34 crowd. Living in Jamaica in my formative teenage years in the 90's I was outside a lot, eating more freshly made meals, more active and interacting with people more and even when going out it was probably once a week whereas I think the culture has shifted where people are going out practically everyday eating out and drinking and that takes a toll on your body. It's a lot of factors that can be the cause. Plus even though knowing what I know now I still am glad I still tried to take care of my skin using St. Ives, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear when I could while a teen.

Diet, stress, smoking and sun exposure are the main things that cause aging,Diet is really important. Food with sugar or high frustose corn syrup and also trans fats (vegetable oils reheated as in takeaways) is also very inflammatory and bad for skin aging plus terrible for health overall. Taking antioxident supplements is very helpful for preventing skin aging too. I'm 44 and people tell me I only look in my early 30s. I have avoided sun exposure on my face since about 13 (I normally wear hats) plus have never smoked and try to eat healthy and take quite a few antioxidants. I do experience workplace and normal stress but my other habits have been enough to prevent me aging prematurely.

For one thing, they have on more pounds than guys used to generally have at that age. I remember 20-something guys mostly being slim and not even seeming to have their bones fully developed yet. I will say as a 43-year-old who's gone back to college. I am around people who are in their early to mid 20th constantly. The majority of them do look much older and that's in basically pajamas and at leisureware because that's what they show up to school in. Except for eyelashes, they're really not doing very much makeup and most of them are not coming to school in wigs. And this is also true especially for the males. They're not wearing any makeup. They're not wearing any wigs. And yet a lot of them look older than I do. It gets awkward when I am around them and someone thinks I am younger than somebody else in like a group I'm assigned to work with or something. It gets uncomfortable. And once you start seeing it, you can't stop seeing it. 😯 I've been taking classes for the past year and a half. I've noticed this. I didn't want to say anything about it and I'm really glad people on KZbin are talking about it because I personally can't bring it up. If I bring it up it only looks like I'm either. Trying to shame somebody or it looks like I'm trying to elevate myself so I just haven't said anything to anybody about it except for really close friends and one of those is a teacher and they've also agreed with me.

I do feel bad for many Gen zs, they seem really nice. Maybe it's something in the water causing this. I have some questions. A lot of people talk about the sun as if it's the plague. While there are studies that show the negative effects of the sun on the skin, I can't help but think about the Africans and tribes that are closer to the Equator and are in the sun 24/7...yet a lot of them have beautiful and dangnear flawless skin. Do they wear sunscreen? And if they do, is that the norm or is it just a select few? I ask this because it is common for African Americans in the US to be deficient in vitamin D. So we actually need more sun than our other counterparts. Vitamin D supplements are good but they're not necessarily better than receiving it naturally. If there are studies that show that being out in the sun improves the immune system, sleep, along with Vitamin D production in the skin, I also heard that the sun can help relieve stress. So how much sun would be too much? Also, what amount of SPF is efficient enough to not block the benefits of the sun? Also, Gen Z is not known for being outside a lot. I'd argue that we are the generation that are inside the most (along with gen Alpha) because this generation is constantly bombarded with addictive technology at our fingertips. Compared to generations before, they were outside a lot more than Gen Z.

I got my first eyeshadow palette in 2013 (Urban Decay’s Naked palette ofcourse), it’s still with me today. Before that, it was just mascara, eye pencil liner, BB cream, concealer to cover blemishes, abit of blush, and a natural lipstick or lip tint. I didn’t even own a brow pencil, I just kept the brows clean and groomed. Now I’m in my late 30s, and I still don’t wear eyeshadow, highlighter, contour, or false lashes. Great video! I just discovered your channel and I love it. I think another factor aging Gen Z is a lack of sleep. They stay up all night on their phones. Also, many are getting Botox and fillers early, which makes folks look like older people who are trying to look younger. PLUS, the Botox weakens facial muscles after a while, which can cause sagging (which makes folks look older)>

I really think it has to do with the use of screens. I am 26, which according to your chart im tbe oldest Gen z, but I’ve seen differing opinions on when Gen z starts (1995,1996,1997,2000). I suppose either way I am considered Gen z unless someone thinks it starts at 2000. But anyways, I grew up before social media and before we had smartphones. Younger and most Gen z grew up on iPads. I think something in the screens is aging people, perhaps it makes more of a difference if it’s when you’re a child when you start exposure. A girl I work with is apparently 19, I thought she was my age or older. She doesn’t wear heavy makeup, but just doesn’t look youthful at all. People tell me I look like I’m in high school, which I respond with “thank you.”

I'm not a plastic surgery shamer but young women; please slow down on the BBL and fillers. People don't know that facial fillers stay in your face, cheeks and sinus cavity for at least 12 years. It can cause infections. I don't get why GEN Z are getting fillers when you are the youngest you'll ever look rn. Same with millennials. I understand GEN X women my age and up (late 40's and up) get work done bc gravity starts hitting you get jowls and fine lines: it's preventative and anti aging.

Most of gen z is not wearing fillers or getting surgery either. That’s millennials if you wanna be honest, if you look at most people who get those surgeries they are mostly gen x and millennials. When I take my makeup off (I’m 19) I look my actual age. Even with makeup I feel like I look younger than I am, the most we even wear is dramatic makeup. Bold if you to assume a bunch of 24 and 18 yr olds can afford surgery, when even just a simple nose job can be up to $10,000. I don’t think we need millennials as an example when it comes to natural beauty, when most of us grew up in the early 2010s and 2000s. I think this is more a concern for gen alpha

I love this video as a 46 year old Gen X /millennial “cusper”! I have always been told I look younger than my actual age, but I did start using sunscreen daily in jr. high, & as you said, we did not have good makeup, wigs, etc. etc… back then (“back in my day”). I also went to school to become an aesthetician almost 20 years ago, & have continued to try to take good care of myself. Although, now that I am in my mid 40s, I am running into some health issues, & medication issues as a result of being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. One of the main things they used to treat MS flareup is prednisone, which is straight cortisol hormone! I have definitely noticed an effect from it that is not good, & do not want to take it unless I absolutely have to. I will admit I am vain in the sense that I would like to remain as useful as possible as long as I can, & not just in the department. I have felt like I have been able to avoid a lot of the conflict, generationally speaking, but I do see it happening all around me. I agree that we should not be coming for each other, & especially as women! We need to support each other & have each other’s backs, instead of trying to tear each other down. In the end that helps no one.

Honestly? Now that this has become a subject, I'm finding myself SHOCKED at how many Gen Zs i thought were OLD millennials. Millennials and even Gen X, like my mom, either look their age or look MUCH MUCH younger. Its crazy that Gen Z is the opposite. It's funny that I've had folks tell me that they would seriously guess that I'm in my early 20s... but that there's no way I'm in my early 20s cuz then I'd look 40. So i must be late 20s. Like, it's sad. Can't even say it's what they are wearing or have on makeup or accessory wise because back in the day they would LOOK like babies with too much damn crap on. I'm thinking it's WAY too many actives in their skin care regime from WAY too early, and not enough cardio and physical activity. Can't wait to take a look at that study you referenced, cuz looking a little older aka more mature when you're still an underage kid is very different than looking OWLD. Like, not in a cute glamorous way. 😂

Gen Z definitely aging like garbage. I work with several who I thought were my age (late 30s) and they thought I was their age (mid 20s). All the millennials and a lot of gen x I work with are aging really well.

I'm going to cosign this claim. Millennial here & little sis is Gen Z (I'm 10+ years her senior). When we're out we're always asked who's older and she got grey hair first! I'm just getting my first strands.

Great video! GenX, and I’m humbled and blessed to still have natural youthful genes. I’m 51, and ppl still mistaken me for being in my 30s🤷🏽‍♀️.

Teenagers are wearing heavy foundation and lashes now which I find interesting. When I was a teen my mother barely let me get away with the dark lip liner and light brown gloss 😂. Forget eyeliner! Back then (mid 90’s) wearing foundation wasn’t a thing but if it was, our moms was having that s*** no way 🤷🏽‍♀️
