Gen Z drinking less than previous generations, studies find

It’s a social habit people have taken part in for generations, but according to new studies, more people are leaving alcohol behind.
Recent studies show alcohol consumption among Generation Z (those born in the late 1990s to early 2010s) is on the decline.
A report from Berenberg Research shows Gen Z drinks 20 per cent less per capita than Millennials when it comes to alcohol consumption.
As Kabi Moulitharan tells us, the decision to drop the booze is attributed to a wide range of social issues.

Plus, alcohol actually kills around 88,000 people every year and destroys lives and health. Cannabis is a harmless and beneficial plant that was made illegal based on lies, in 1937. They knew that only Blacks and Mexicans used Cannabis at the time, so they gave it a scary exotic name "Marijuana" and made propaganda films. It's crazy how a lie can endure for generations when scared by the law.

It's pushback and completely normal to see this trend in light of two un -deniable facts especially from the ''cynical generation's'' of people age 50 and younger: Fact # 1: If your in your twenty's and you brain is now fully developed, (which occurs now between age 19 to age 22) more and more young people have figured out that eating healthy and staying healthy on a unhealthy planet with the over-processed modern food supply is bad enough, so why the hell would we expect young people to decrease there quality of life further when they can't even feel confident the modern food supply is going to remain ''scientifically nutritious for the next 60 years'' (all plant and animal life require clean water and clean soil for there own nutrients, but look around, it's only common sense, the earth's water and soil quality have been on the decline for decades) (we are what we eat) (remember that phrase ? ) dead water and soil leads to dead nutrional plants=dead-nutrional animals=nutrionally deficient human beings) Fact #2 Food inflation the past 25 years, (alcohol is a luxury item more than ever now) how can you justify buying two cases of beer a month, when a dozen eggs is now costing over 5.00, but 10 years ago the average price was under 1.25 to 2.00)

They needed a study to figure this out?? Gen Z are constantly on smartphones and socialize face-to-face far less than previous generations. With the decline of in-person social activity (and associated alcohol use), there has come an expotential growth of interacting online through social media. One offsets the other. While less alcohol may be better for physical (and mental health), increased digitization of social interactions is deleterious to mental and social health. Go to any high school or university and constant smartphone use is ubiquitous.

In previous generations alcohol was a huge part of youth culture, nowadays I feel like that type of culture is faded away and people are no longer peer pressured into drinking. I don't think being healthy has anything to do with it and people who are into marijuana and mushrooms also drink a ton of alcohol. I have never seen someone being exclusively into marijuana, they normally drink alcohol too

But it seems that the previous generations of university students drank alot more than the current generation. And hearing about my fathers stories it seems like his gen were chronic alcoholics lol. I think it's because in today's universities and colleges, the drinking culture is not that "cool" anymore for the lack of a better word. Like for example frats, which are associated with people who like to drink and party are not the high status groupies on campuses anymore, they're normally associated with being cringe worthy and weird

The overwhelming majority of people I know who smoke marijuana and do shrooms DON'T drink alcohol myself Included, alcohol just isn't that good of a drug compared to them also if you do a high enough dose of shrooms your brain stops responding to alcohol and you don't get the.
