I really appreciate Generation Z. Every generation has its flaws and strengths, and Gen Z is no different. What I admire most about Gen Z is their rejection of outdated stereotypes, especially around work-life balance. Unlike previous generations that often equated work with life, Gen Z understands that work is just a part of life, not its entirety. They are challenging the norms of rigid professional environments, questioning unnecessary formalities like excessive email chains and hierarchical permissions. I hope Gen Z continues to break these outdated practices and redefine a more balanced and sensible approach to work and life. I wish them all the best in their efforts.

As per my age, I fall somewhere in between the previous generations and Gen-Z. Though, I do not have any issue with any generation as each has its own strengths, however as I have observed that Gen-Z employees think complaining everything around is a great tool to succeed, even if the issue is with their own skills set. I am a developer in a reputed global IT giant and in my life I have seen myself and many of my peers spending hours/days/weeks to analyze and learn to fix a random software glitch. It is mostly a repeated cycle of analyzing, learning, trying and fixing. When I look at these new peers, the first thing they tend to do is pointing out 10 other problems around the system and not even coming closer to the main issue. A Gen-Z can complain other generations and oldies, however a complex machine does not get fixed automatically after listening to those complains? You have to put efforts, dedication, hard work to excel in anything. That is truth of nature, it is not a generation made thing. PS: Also, I am not a corporate slave to make above claims. No one is missing deadline here. Why will I come to office and sit in front of a laptop/desktop for 8 hours? I would definitely like to work and complete the work on time. or lets take another example, I have completed the work assigned before time. Why will I not be able to leave office whenever I want. So someone have to stay in the office just to give assurance to the incompetent ones like no bro, I am here. I have discussed these issues with management, the answer is hilarious, they will say, This is the way, you need to show work even when you are not working. thats the key to success and all.

I agree with them on some things. Not all. Less meeting can be helpful. If you keep your management team locked in a room for Lon periods of time theirs a lack of management. And as someone who works in a resteraunt their are things managers are needed for often. Customer complaints, interviews. And even free cake on birthdays require a manager to swipe their card where I work. We go forever unable to get a hold of them. But speaking casually can lead to the idea of friends hanging out instead of working. Foul language in front of customers can create a bad image.

As an older millennial, I am rooting for gen Z. Orgs take employees for granted and we are long overdue a correction. Sure gen Z might be taking it too far in the opposite direction, but a change is needed and they’re the ones to open the gates
