This is my favorite song from this master player. He created this after his own rehab and recovery dedicated to all those still suffering. He spent the last years of his short life helping people find their own way out of addiction. He is still inspiring sobriety today. It is like a warm golden hug from this man's soul🌟✨⭐️. Your young sister does not have the emotional maturity to appreciate or even understand the depth of this musicianship. Jimi will always be her favorite and there's no problem with that. But you keep giving her way too many chances to say "he's not bad, and he's okay. That is actually hard to hear, especially so many times in a few minutes. I am 76 years old and, even though Stevie's music isn't everybody's cup of tea, I have never heard anyone dismiss him as unworthy of any appreciation of his music.✌️💙🎶🎸💙🎶you don't have to like the music but should be able to respect the talent

She is of insufficient age to be able to appreciate the expertise being presented. I used to skip over this song when I became an SRV fan years ago, but now it's a gem I truly enjoy.

Your daughter is too young for this music when she has been around for 2 or 3 decades than it will start to sink in, that this is not just music, but an artist who has mastered his craft.

Great reaction it took me a long time to understand the feels of music. Once you understand it you can catch onto the ride that music takes you on. For Me Stevie took you on a ride, that most of the time took you to different dimensions. You could feel Stevie you can feel his soul.

Try listening to some of Stevie work when he was just around 17 when he played with Lou Ann Barton. Jim

The technical ability to play like this is like riding a bike with only one speed, (which is alot of guitar players) then there's this, it's like riding an18 speed! That's SRV technical ability! a person must know the difference to get it.

She is too young to be into this song. I have the cassette tape from back in the day, and I may not every time but probably most back then would skip this song, but now I absolutely love it. Of course this version is a tad better than the record as well

Here is a good test! Check out JIMI HENDRIX "Villanova Junction" from 'Live at Woodstock' (don't think there is a video but audio is excellent)...it is a jazz instrumental, though a lot shorter...it's amazing, but it is in a similar style, so if this comparison...well let's just see...if that Jimi song belongs in Applebees too, ok, or if we have a true bias here :) The Applebees comment is priceless. Fine Dining for the ages....

She’s just to young & stubborn to appreciate Stevie’s amazing talent. Maybe in another 10 years show her these videos & I bet she’ll say “I can’t believe I acted that way”. Stevie was/is the best!! 💔 You would also enjoy Lenny live at El Mocambo, he wrote it for his wife.

Ummm, if THIS piece invokes "visions of Applebee's", then I really don't know how to comment on THAT......

Jimmy could not hold a light to STEVE RAY on playing a guitar, JIMMY could not play his behind his back, but STEVE RAY could.

Jimi was good, but srv was far better. Jimmi deserves respect for changing the guitar, however stevie was a far better player. He clould do anything jimi could do and better. He was much more precise and fluent, and he could play non stop for hours without making a mistake.

The problem was that you kept stopping it too often so she never got to ride the entire wave unbroken. Plus you never pointed out the amazing technicality of the music being played and how it was a master class in guitar playing at that moment. But mostly all you needed to do is shut up and let the music continue unbroken so that the music can speak for itself with this amazing tune. Great that you like SRV...

ok. all due respect, but this is getting very painful.. Not admitting to the talent of SRV and Double trouble... just wow! 😢lol as a previous poster has said maybe she is just too young to appreciate it. or maybe too stubborn to admit it. By thinking that SRV is great does not dismiss an other artist such as Jimi, who is also great. but come on.. SRV >Jimi.
