@@emmaselander2160 absolutely. i'm not negating that statement. i'm simply making another objective observation. the hardest and most thougthful workers end up at the top of the work food chain. i know plenty of people who've made it big. and some haven't made it big but attempted. very hard workers, all of them. they do frequently take pleasure in the process of work though. still, your statement might ring strongly with some of them at the end of their lives. it might not, because some of them are incredibly wealthy and very likely wouldn't have achieved their success without the time they put in. they've created generational wealth in their mid thirties and could chill for several lifetimes. they don't though, they simply don't work crazy hours anymore. oh, and none of them have worked for anybody. neither have i. so i'm just guessing here when it comes to employer and employee relationships.

@@ljones9841 It may have to do with that target to retire. They probably don't want to work another year or any more days than they have to. They get to retire in their early 60's. But rest and having a life is so much more important. But inflation is probably enforcing them to work longer than they want. Because retirement checks are not enough to cover a month of living expenses. When rent takes pretty much 1 month worth of your check, somethings wrong.

I get anxious when I have less than 50hr weeks. Some of y'all break down after 30hrs. Explain, because I can't fathom being that soft. You want money, but aren't willing to put in the damn time. Now, I'm not going to pretend that my job isn't pretty great in terms of overtime pay, benefits, and scheduling accommodation. Because it is. There are plenty of companies and businesses that go out of their way to provide these things to you, and the overwhelming majority of people don't leverage ANY of these tools at their disposal then claim they aren't given enough. Stop being foolish, I beg you.
