The main difference between the two is money. Gen Z memes felt more home grown and innocent even if it was super stupid. Gen Alpha memes though feel way more corporate, like it all came from the front page of KZbin Kids. The monetization of kids content is what really ruined it imo.

I think you’re 100% right! I couldn’t pinpoint what was different between the two. I think the biggest difference between gen z brainrot and gen alpha brainrot is that a lot of gen z brainrot was more "homemade" and fun since the internet at the time wasn't fully mainstream and corprate as nowadays, so people had to diy their content with ms paint, fraps, movie maker, and a comcorder because they had some inspirstion from their favorite gaming youtubers. Also, most of the kids at the time didn't have phones (maybe an ipod if you were one of the cool kids) and mainly had to use their parents dusty pc running win7 or xp or a school computer. It wasn't until gen z entered their mid teen years were everyone began to have their own phones and maybe a pc. And during that time was the transition from gen z brainrot to gen alpha content At least that's how I saw it

@@xdgamer7171 true, but it’s genuinely better bc a lot of the things we consider as our gen z brainrot actually had effort to it, and it wasn’t mindless slop like some of the stuff you’ll see on youtube shorts, and the content made specifically for kids nowadays is just overstimulating garbage made specifically to keep retention and viewers to make money (like lankybox)

Gen Z brainrot includes a lot of the current forms of brainrot too, though. Most of this current stuff originated with Zoomers, regardless of quality. The generation is a whole spectrum spanning multiple years, and on the internet that's a long time. Heck, ultimately much of the current stuff can be traced in some form back to KZbin Poops, so...

I watched an entire lankybox video for a vid on my second channel and after watching one, I came up with some categories for a drinking game when watching lankybox vids. 1. Take a drink when they beg u to like and subscribe in any manner. 2. Take a drink when they beg you to buy merch 3. Take a drink whenever they mention one of their characters like huggy wuggy or skibidi toilet. 4. (This is only if you're watching a vid of them reacting to content) Take a drink whenever they replay the same video. In the video I watched, they reacted to one of their tiktoks 5 times in a row. Enjoy getting alcohol poisoning😁

@legoboy71073 ай бұрын
@@DarkninjaGD30 I wouldn't actually categorize Skibidi Toilet as "gen alpha," it's really more an accident that that connection got made. It's just a Source Filmmaker action series, it's in many ways kinda "old-school" (for internet standards), the creator is clearly not Gen Alpha, his original audience wasn't gen alpha, it's just an accident of the algorithm that little kids caught onto the series. I guarantee little kids can't understand basically any of the real details in the series, and they certainly don't know much about its source material rooted in Garry's Mod, Half-Life 2, and all that stuff, they just saw "haha toilet funny" and thought the "song" (which isn't even really used anymore) was catchy, and that's it. Anyone who's an actual real watcher of the series is Gen Z or Millennial (and yes I've seen multiple men in their 30s who grew to like it). Not to mention it's not even appropriate for little kids, with its plentiful gore, horror elements, and sometimes profanity.
