MorbidManMusic if I’m not mistaken, originally Bill Acoin started the merchandise stuff and a percentage was given to the band and split equally. I doubt if Gene has full control as Paul is very well aware of what’s going on and I’m sure gets compensated. Kiss is unique as the Beatles, that the four members were stars individually. When I was a kid there were no Black Sabbath dolls with the four members. Unless you were a fan, no one really knew who Ward or Butler were.. but love them or hate them, back in the day, most kids knew the four names of the members of Kiss. Especially Gene... I understand what you’re saying, hell maybe I’m wrong...

The truth is bands make way more today then they ever use to.Concert ticket's were cheap and mainly touring was to advertise albums not make tons of money.Also bands got what one or two dollars for each record sold and had to split it four ways or five ways.They are making way more charging what they do for concerts now and off VIP packages and selling instruments and as in Kiss's case the Kiss Kruise then they ever made in the past.Honestly it's reverse now a new record is advertisement for a tour and a reason for fans to come see a band.But I guess Gene does not need that when they can just tour off nostalgia and people will come as when older bands play new songs the older fans don't really want to hear them live.Also there are newer bands still building a buzz off the net and getting there music out and people coming to see them.Thing's just changed that is the way it is.
