How does one defeat magical space wizards with laser swords? Simple, you cheat. Shoot them while distracted. Use magnaguards to distract them. Retreat when outmatched. It’s not cowardliness to run from a fight you can’t win. For all his flaws, Grievous was smart, and that’s what led to him being one of the most successful Jedi hunters in galactic history, perhaps even second only or equal to Darth Vader in Jedi killed.

too much power, as much as I love the OG Clone Wars, I pretty much prefer the new one better since not all villains are all powerful just look at some villains in other shows they don't really put up a fight unless they have to, Grievous really shows that not all villains win but sometime loses and have to do things strategically not by being cowardly and stupid, if you are loosing you either rely on your teammates to keep the fight going and run like hell to fight another day, the OG GRIEVOUS sure spreads the fear in all of us but kinda too much and kinda makes Palpatine like non other than just a boss, you can even notice Palpatine running away from Yoda a few times in the 2008 CW so not all villains are all powerful, but this comment was 6 months ago so I'll just leave this here HAHAHAHA

Plus it beats having an army of ten year old slaves with the sole purpose of fighting and dying. A robot army seem much more morally apt really
@noahhorner2315 жыл бұрын
True a droid army is morally better, something the Separatists used to try to get the moral high ground (hello there General Kenobi), but... B1 battle droids, while incompetent, displayed a level of self awareness to the point they could be considered sapient. (A sapient being is capable of thinking like we do. The term sentience is more commonly used for this, but that is a misuse of the word. Sentience is simply being able to react to your environment. Amoebas are sentient, not sapient.) This means the use of B1, B2, and BX class battle droids is just as morally wrong as the clone army. It would be a different story if the Separatists used the OOM class battle droid instead, as OOM class battle droids were merely robots controlled by a central computer and displayed not personality. Also B1 units had pain receptors and fear subroutines. Why would you program your soldiers to feel fear and pain? That’s entirely counterproductive!
@GreaterGrievobeast555 жыл бұрын
Noah Horner Fair enough! Although I have heard that the personalities of the b1 battle droids was an untimentional side effect of their memory banks not being refreshed enough times during the war and their ai advancing to become more cynical and self aware as time went on. They certainly didn’t care of course but it still wasn’t their intention. As for feeling pain, you would want your machines to have a sense of self preservation as to avoid needlessly destroying themselves during situations. One could even argue not giving droids the ability to not be able to avoid damage as immoral like the gonk droids for instance who often would walk needlessly towards oblivion if ordered, despite being capable of humanoid thinking in some ways such as forming a religion

Fun fact, Grievous was trained by Dooku who was trained by Yoda, and Dooku acknowledged that Grievous was his best apprentice in terms of learning light saber combat. Grievous was so effective because he’s basically like fighting 4 Yodas at once in a lightsaber duel minus the force. He also has the blood of a powerful Jedi running through what’s left of his organic body, and brain implants that enhance his senses and basically make him into a T1000.

The reason Lucasfilm never had those two interact in Clone Wars is because in ROTS, it’s implied that Grevious meets Anakin for the first time aboard his capital ship during the battle of Coruscant, so they never had them cross paths throughout the tv show. Talk about attention to detail.

The only criticism I have about the Clone Wars is Grievous' coughing. I'm not sure if this is still canon or not, but I know it was when the clone wars was still being made; Grievous never coughed until Mace Windu crushed his plating around his lungs, which happened literally right before Grievous boarded his ship with Chancellor Palpatine on it, and Obi-Wan and Anakin rescued him at the beginning of Episode 3.
@CaveMiner6 жыл бұрын
The Senate tbh Grievous is overall better in 2003. Let's hope that he is shown kidnapping the Chancellor in season 7 of TCW. Grievous needs more epic scenes.

I think Windu was the first person to ever fight Grevious as he went out his way to disable Grevious. In the clone wars he literally got defeated by an army of Gungans which shows how weak he became over time. Im not sure where 2003's clone wars fits in the timeline, i feel like it should havd started from there though since he was a very deadly and skilled enemy

Y’know for moments where he is portrayed as a coward he’s actually adhering to the Rules Count Dooku laid out in 2D version, if he’s lacking any one quality of fear or intimidation it’s best for him to retreat. And when he is successful as an Antagonist he is an intimidating villain that throws the Jedi off Focus, it’s a shame grievous was only ever shown killing Clones, Padawans and Knights in the show rather than add to his credibility by killing a Jedi Master. And also had an advantage in showing more of His Origin as a Kaleesh Warrior, even in the Unfinished episodes he’s a badass 😂
