Major General Maurice Rose grew up in Denver, Colorado and was the highest ranking officer to be killed in action in the European Theater during World War II. The son and grandson of Rabbis, Rose was the highest ranking Jewish American in the Army and was the commander of the famed Third Armored Division. This video features the announcement of the monument and sculpture built in his honor and also shows the construction of the monument by Colorado sculpture artist George Lundeen.
