Those commoners may also be kept in order to feed Radahn. As per his cinematic he eats flesh due to the scarlet rot infection. So the soldiers feed him to keep him alive and health so he can die at more or less full strength in the festival fight

Honestly I think it would be really cool if the redmane soldiers and knights were capable of using fire based ashes of war. It would add an additional gimmick to them that the Cuckoo, Leyndell and Hailingtree Knights have As well as fit the theme of what is going on in Caelid

unfortunately the game is too somber to think the knights would ever be rewarded for their effort. caelid will forever be a battleground where the largest accomplishment is the possibility that the rot doesnt' spread to other regions.

Cool video. I'm still wondering if we'll ever figure out why Malenia lead her forces to Caelid. By all accounts of her agenda alongside Miquella, it doesn't really make sense for her to attack. Especially with Caelid on the other side of the map from the Haligtree. I also wonder, what was going on in Caelid before Malenia showed up in general. The cathedral of Dragon communion is there and the place has one of the higher concentration of dragons. I wonder if the Cathedral is there because of the dragons or if the dragons are there because so many folks were communed to hard at the cathedral.

A small theory is its related to the eclipse a miquella related ghost mentioned in castle sol. If I'm remembering correctly the eclipse also has purpose with the haligtree. Perhaps the reason malenia challenged radahn was to unbind the stars so the sun and moon could eclipse

"malenia's vibe" suggests that she was a sister who was desperate to survive because she had to, because she was her brother's blade, because she had to protect him & either wasn't aware he went missing or maybe even marched to caelid in the first place to find him- mohgwyn palace is under caelid, after all. malenia was strong and fierce as much as radahn was and her knights were just as devoted. she fought for a worthy cause, a place like the haligtree which stood for the meek & the low, but most importantly she fought for her brother. it makes no damn sense picking "honorable" sides in a war that ultimately had no victor and saw destruction wrought on the lands between but for fucks sake if its what'll work radahn respected malenia and maybe so should you. they're both tragic and warriors who've lost everything. hell, radahn didn't even fight back at the end of the fight in the story trailer.

Wait are you sure malenia won? Why didn't she kill rahdan? I think that the scarlet rot explosion almost killed her too, although of course she managed to get a foothold on caelid with her rot so I guess since she was the invading force it can be considered a win, I don't know for sure since I haven't met malenia yet, (or I just missed some lore), either way great video the redmayne solider are awesome. I'm not sure about gauntlet, but for helm, armor and legging are banished knight helm(unaltered), banished knight armor(unaltered) and scaled legging. For weapon, scavenger's curved sword. Note : He also dual wield golden order greatsword and blasphemous blade too.

I have a question about most enemies in the game Why do they look dead? Like Gostoc and the commoners look dead or at least withered, same with the Soldiers. This made sense in DS because of the hollowing but is there any reason for this or is it just a design choice

I think is because the rune of death was sealed by Maliketh thus preventing anyone to reach death, but i am no lore expert

Destined death was removed from the Elden Ring, so nothing can die. Hence enemies respawning when you rest at a SoG. Everything is withering and fading, yet it can't fade 'the whole way' so it's just caught in this endless cycle of dying and waking back up.

It's also Banished Knight Armor but Unaltered, you can get it from Castle Sol by fighting the Halberd or the Dual Sword knight it's a drop from them.
