The Dorian Yates.The best bodybuilder ever and pretty much the only real guy out of any of them imo. Dude has integrity, high IQ and a great outlook on life. When young gym guys want bodybuilding guidance I just say "Blood and Guts 6 week trainer, Dorian Yates KZbin". I put 25kg on in 18 months natural. I went from 75kg to 100kg with around 12-15% BF at 5' 10"using Dorians brutally high intensity system in Blood and Guts. I have always loved training heavy to failure so this system I adore. I am lucky with genetics being mesomorphic but I did not think I could even get this big naturally. Growth seemed to slow down at 100kg but I am inconsistent because of work, skipping a couple of days most weeks. I would love to see how big I can get naturally and intend to with better consistency and more food. Hope this helps any guys starting out and wanting to put on muscle but follow a healthy natural Bodybuilding route. Thanks Dorian!

@TheLusianPopa You clearly have a poor understanding of the criteria for a developed bodybuilder. Arnold had amazing biceps and a tremendous chest but apart from that he was lacking in most areas. His legs were so underwhelming compared to his upper body. Calves more so great either. Not to mention his blocky midsection. Big Ronnie Coleman had arguably the best back in history and his biceps rival Arnold’s in my opinion. He definitely had the best flutes in history.. no doubt. Great legs and just an absolute freak when it came to mass. Holding almost 300 pounds of muscle at 4% body fat is ridiculous and he is nothing less of a genetic phenom. Of course he did have a poor midsection with a separated 4 pack and a bubble guy which became more apparent year after year. But to say that Arnold was the greatest bodybuilding of all time is almost laughable given the individuals we have seen at the Olympia. All due respect to Arnold, he is still one of my favorites.

Arnold is the GOAT because he brought fitness into the mainstream and more specifically, he and Joe Weider brought competitive bodybuilding out of the darkness. Ronnie is the GOAT because he absolutely pushed the boundaries of what the human body can do/look like. Despite Dorian Yates being one of the first to being in the "mass monster" look, Ronnie Coleman took that look and made it even more extreme. Fact of the matter is this - Arnold is the GOAT because of his coming from nothing, and with the help of Joe Weider, he made an empire for himself. Bodybuilding, acting, politics. Ronnie is the GOAT because he was an absolute freak of nature. Despite people in men's open division still chasing size today, no one has ever been able to replicate Ronnie's look that he had during his peak. The size, shape, and overall conditioning was just unbeatable. Takeaway? They are BOTH the GOAT, for different reasons and for some the same too.

Ronnie 1998 looked better than all the Dorian Olympia wins put together.
@dj_m193 жыл бұрын
is that why he beat a soft Flex Wheeler by only 3 points? He had horrible gyno in 1998 and would've been dwarfed by a much bigger Dorian. Ronnie was only 247 pounds on stage in 1998. Is that why Kevin Levrone said that Dorian would've beaten Ronnie in 1998 had he competed?

Could it be growth hormone that took Ronnie from top 10 to #1? This is not a criticism, just an observation. Ronnie was awesome, but was he maybe missing the GH prior to his first Mr O?
@shortfattoad73173 жыл бұрын
? Everyone competing at top NPC and pro shows, took GH back then. Now, even actors take the shit. I could never afford it in the early 90's, so I had to make do with SUS250, D-bol and other 'normal' shit

Ronnie was the main reason behind Durian Yates retirement, Durian is smart and he couldn't see him self able to compete against Ronnie Coleman so it was a good plan for career that has no lose

He was badly injured and he was feeling that bodybuilding was starting to feel like "a job". He has admitted this in interviews. Really he ought to have lost to Nasser in '97 too, as he was far from his best. He was an awesome Mr O though.

I’m not the biggest fan of Dorian’s physique (and that’s not me saying I wasn’t a fan. Like every dominant Olympia champion he had controversial years he has 6 - maybe he should have 4/5. Ronnie is no different not everyone believed he should have won all 8) 1993 Dorian is the only physique I’ve seen capable of competing with Ronnie. After that Dorian had injuries and never quite reached that 93 level again but he was obviously still amazing. 93 was pinnacle type stuff. Put it on stage this year and he is winning the Olympia 30 years later - that’s crazy. Dorian’s mindset? The way he seems to think and talk about things? He had that .01% mentality Michael Jordan type stuff. Amazing mind. The way he seemed to approach bodybuilding I could only dream of having that discipline drive and smarts. Just seems like an amazing guy. 1 of those guys who if someone asks “you can have dinner with any 3 people who you picking?” Dorian would be a great choice

Dorian is cool, seems like a very chill guy. I think Coleman's era had more quality competitors. It's was all about mass and thats when we start seeing freaks. It was an awesome time in bodybuilding

Nah 90s had the perfect blend of aesthetics and mass, in the 00s everyone got too big and sacrificed lines and symmetry then started to look washed out

I think Arnie's era was the best because they had the best proportions and concave stomachs not bubble guts. Also The drugs available were not as strong or varied so it was more about effort and diet.

I think the biggest argument for HIT, at least for bodybuilding, is the comparison between Dorian Yates & Ronnie Coleman. Ronnie may have been 'bigger,' but he's now essentially crippled for his life, with spine fused and cognitive ability not a strong as it used to be. While, in comparison, Dorian is far more articulate and physically capable.
