Jay Cutler believes that force feeding for mass is more dangerous than steroid use in the sport.
Jay Cutler is one of the few legendary pro bodybuilders who trimmed down a good amount after retiring from the sport. Make no mistake, Cutler is still in shape and sports an impressive physique but his mass is nowhere near the levels he had as an Olympia champion. Is this because he believes the bodybuilding lifestyle to be unhealthy? In our latest GI Exclusive Vault interview, Jay Cutler explains why overeating, not steroids, is the most dangerous part of bodybuilding.
GI VAULT - is an extension of our GI Exclusive interviews. The difference? These interviews come straight out of the Generation Iron vault from the cutting room floor of our feature film documentaries. With over hours of interview footage that doesn’t make it into our final films, we’re now releasing them out into the world.
Bodybuilding, fitness, weight training - all on the Generation Iron Fitness Network!

I mean you don't have to be a genius to know that forcing meals down your throat, even when not hungry, to consume a 10,000 calorie surplus has to have some negative effect on the body. Just like people who suffer from anorexia or bulimia know that something can't be good with what they are doing.

@Real World Warrior lowen I'm a dietitian not that simple. How the steroids are definitely not good but they don't kill you for a long time if ever the insulin and the growth hormone that they take for the massive amounts of food can kill you in 5 minutes. There's so many factors that can kill bodybuilders it's hard to find out which came first the chicken or the egg in their case the needle or the pill. I know bodybuilders are done piles of steroids and when they quit and take care of themselves don't have problems at all 40 years later. I also know 26 year old people that have died from growth hormone for a few years because their heart got too big to pump correctly

Over eating was my demise. I got hit at 31 with a golf ball sized hernia in my upper gi track and my esophagus built up scar tissue...I lost about 80% of everything I worked for...watched it all desolve over 3 to 4 year period. Needless to say I have to take stomach meds every morning and every 3 years the put me under for a few minutes and diolate my esophagus so I can eat easier. I almost died several times in my sleep choking on food that wasn't processing...I got scared and told the dr. That's how they found out after 3 ultrasounds. Im 37 now have not lifted or trained in 5 years..I plan on making a natural comeback at somepoint before 40yrs old. But it took alot out of me for sure.ill never use again. I'm clean and sober. No more juice and no more pain pills. I'm not a walking Greek God anymore but I'm alive and successfully running my own Roofing sheetmetal business. Lucky to still be here

Over-eating is one thing, but lets get honest the gear is a huge risk beyond whatever else you're consuming. If anything its being over 300lb's at 5ft8 that is the health issue immediately
@TyCorr
@TyCorr 4 жыл бұрын
Can you inject any amount of drugs and get that size without food? Of course not. Everyone has seen a bodybuilding diet on paper but most havent tried consuming it. For most people the bottleneck of getting huge is eating. So yea, no hocus pocus, his words were correct. Eating causes inflammation in the gut and organs.

@miesvaillanykyisyytta3252
@miesvaillanykyisyytta3252 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's a false dichotomy really. Steroids and eating are both necessary for that kind of size. Eating enables the steroids (plus insulin, HGH, whatever) to work their magic. Even natural bodybuilders obviously need to eat a decent bit but steroids up the ceiling for what can be achieved there for both gains and maintenance. There is absolutely no initiative to eat huge amounts as a natty; all you'll gain is fat because the protein synthesis is not there.

He should have gotten no less than 2nd and I’m a Bonac Fan. Nonetheless, he saluted Dexter out of respect. One of my favorite pics at the 2020 O was when Ramy won and turned and bowed his head to Curry. What a freaky classy cat!!! Although, he is the new king, he still showed the former king respect. A lot of bodybuilders lift for self esteem issues weather they are pros or just the novice lifter you became a slave to your body not being content with who and what they look like it’s kinda like chasing the dragon it’s an obsession with thinking that if your not swelled or pumped up that your inadequate in some way . At 57 I still have that mentality that I want to impress weather it’s to intimidate or attention from others I’ve learned that when older I focus on cardio and stomach I’ve learned to just except that my glory days are over and to just live with what I am now. I don’t recommend trying to get huge for it’s a deadened road learn to except what and who you are and treat people with care and compassion

I mean if you ate as “Clean” as possible & you cut that in half & only ate maybe 5 times a day then I don’t know how that could be considered “Unhealthy”. The average person in the U.S.🇺🇸 consumes well over 3,000 calories a day easily. The crap that the average person puts in their body on a daily basis is crazy. If you ate “Clean” & limited your daily meals to 5 a day max, then I don’t know how that could be unhealthy. I’m not buying it...

Main issue I think is eating, unlike other sports bodybuilding requires you to eat A LOT. That wears out your heart and it's also horrible for your back and joints. Better to just be fit and lean instead of big. Three days of training a week is enough and most of it should be full body workouts like running or swimming, maybe some pullups to get some arm strength.
