You have to hand it to the Clone procurement officers, they got their men the guns, armor and fighting vehicles in a blink of an eye. Modern acquisition programs take at least 2 whole clone lifetimes to go from board to battlefields.

One of biggest gripes with the TCW series was how quickly they ditched the Acclemators, clone colour rankings and Geonosis-debuting CIS vehicles. It's like the war starts and boom Anakin's an adult and ROTS's aesthetic is already here. The clones already are coloured by battlegroup, everything CIS is blue instead of grey and brown and the republic fleet is 99% Venator.

Fun fact: the Republic Commandos' armor is made of duraplast which can even provide some good resistance against lightsabers. Before the idiot changes to the Republic after the New Sith Wars, Republic soldiers all wore armor made of duraplast. And a lot had shield drones and stuff. The stuff lost to apocalypse level wars...mostly brain cells, apparently.

The shape of the unknown regions always bothered me because given 25,000 years, the Republic should have expanded there, barrier or no barrier. But I was just thinking it would be cool if there was an ancient war that devastated an entire half of the galaxy leaving black holes everywhere.

I know the jedi doesnt get involved with politics, but what i thought wouldve made more sense is that, during wartime shouldnt the jedi reign control over the Senate till the war ends, since the jedi was more involved with battles plans and scenarios both on planet's and in space, fighting for the senates and jedis interest. The Venators and a lot of other equipment for the GAR was built on a planet (I've forgot the name) that was largely unknown like rothena and protected by classified hyperspace lanes known only by the kaminoans and Contracted companies leaders, the hyperspace coordinates were only told to ships when they needed to travel through them to get supplies to the planet and they needed to wipe the ships hyperspace memory banks after, I don't think that the ships crew was even told the coordinates and someone from Kamino or RHE or KDY needed to go on the ship with like a hard drive or some shit rather than send it to them and risk it being downloaded by someone and leaked. That's pretty much it, I can't remember in detail what happened but I think people can understand.

To fix your error on the Mandalorian armor. Only the current gen of armor had that widespread issue of limited armor plating. The crusader, Neo-Crusader, late crusader, and power tech armor types all had extremely good armor protection. It wasnt until they became less United in the current era that they got lazy with their armor. In fact the era after the current one, ie 100 ABY, had mandalorians increasing their armor plate covering again.

Hm, weird, I always thought that Republic capital ships were the vehicles that were previously mothballed on Coruscant (and probably built there as well long long time before the War). That would have explained why these ships were manned by navy officers from Coruscant and why clones were moved to Coruscant to march into these ships in the first place. So my hypothesis was that there were a lot of old mothballed ships and very few human navy personnel who manned very few ships remaining in active duty by the time War started, but when clones were transported to Coruscant they promoted people with experience in navy to higher ranks, de-mothballed the ships and manned the ships with clones.

At least the the spectrum the painted the armor in actually has very good camouflage. So the clones were actually well hidden from most threats outside of visual range or when behind cover or in buildings. Better that than nothing. Probably helped a lot against air strikes, at least. The Kaminoans not knowing human ergonomics is just laziness on their part. After how intimately they had to know the human body (oh no the images!), there's no excuse.

Shock Troopers were more of a federal police and national guard. They were also the inspiration for the Storm Trooper Corps.

Clone shock troopers, were used as Senate guards and extra police for the Senate district. As clones were trained to hold positions, ID persons of interest and threats, and defend high value targets they were ideally suited to this job. These shock force clones were given extra training as well, just as all specialized units were.

To add onto what these guys just said perfectly, they were also used as military police at times. Senate Guards were the usual go to for protection of high value targets. But the Coruscant Guard was often used as replacement if, for some reason, there was a lack of Senate Guards.

I can't recall a single instance in which either clone armor or stormtrooper armor ever stopped a blasterbolt. They are better off not wearing armor and be more mobile, that's why today's soldiers don't wear armor.
