I remember a video about Plagueis saying that his big experiment with the Force made it counterattack and create Anakin because it was mad at the Sith. 7:25 With the Vecta Prime system being the apparent gateway to the galaxy, it would make sense for the New Republic to heavily fortify it after the Yuzang Vong invasion in case anything else tried to get through. There could be more Vong fleets, there could be something else (a machine race?). Turning Vecta Prime into a fortress system with Interdictor technology and emergency beacons to warn the rest of the galaxy seems prudent. I don't think the Vecta Prime system was the gate way per se. It's more probable that the Vong just Kind of wound up there and could have come through other systems in that area as well. They did travel with sublight speed to that Galaxy, not with a fixed end point, if I remember correctly. Instead of fortifying one random system, they should fortify the complete outer systems of the Galaxy, kinda like tha Atlantik Wall. :p

So many fine writers, and artists, put their all into it all, that it should be given credit, and far more respect. I have a theory that the reason for the UR being so hard to get to from the Eastern side of the galaxy in canon is due to the Mortis Gods. I think that the Son and Daughter may have had a battle in the region which resulted in the anomalies which caused all the stuff (solar storms, nebulae, black holes etc) that made the region near-inaccessible to the rest of the galaxy. After that, the Father took them to Mortis to protect the universe from their power.

My fix for the Holdo maneuver would be that hyperspace travel would be made impossible or at least very hard. They could even take it to the Unknown Regions, where the Great Hyperspace War, or a couple wars after that, caused the hyperspace lanes to collapse, and creating black holes instead. In my almost 49 years orbiting the star Sol, in the Milky Way galaxy, I have enjoyed a lot of different Science Fiction. Unfortunately, in some of my favorite franchises their is usually at least one writer who decides to write something that really frustrates anyone who has studied physics and or astronomy, and then a editor or producer that's has as little or less understanding of those subjects makes what the writer did official and the fictional universe is stuck with a stupid concept until, but sometimes even after, reboots. Because of course galaxies have hard physical edges, and you can only enter or exit at the edges of the disc or spiral. Instead of being three dimensional objects in three dimensional spaces which can be entered or exited from any direction or point, and at a certain distance from the gravitational center the number of orbiting particles becomes statistically zero.

from the beginning disney should have distanced their new trilogy as far away from the other six movies as possible. they should have either done a trillogy set a few thousand years before and or after the battle of yavin and had they done it after they should have only referenced the sky walkers through legend and stories if they had no interest in continuing that story in the first place. endor was a good end for the skywalkers so i dont know why on earth they decided to bring them back into the fold if they were not going to continue their story any way. all that changed is now instead of getting a heroic luke who saved the galaxy and his father we get a failure who lost his nephew and failed the galaxy. such bull shit just so they could prop up rey without having her live in lukes shadow and the fans should never forgive Disney for doing it. in my opinion rey is a worse character than jar jar binks because of all the things disney sacrificed just to prop her up.

Isn't the Imperial Remnant and The First Order - two different organisations - or have they basically erased the idea of the Imperial Remnant co-existing with the New Republic - as there was a fair bit of talk about it still existing post battle of Jakku. It only seems since Star wars Battlefront 2 - that the idea has shown up of them upping sticks and leaving to become the 1st order. I think there is some distinct Canon weirdness going on here - likely down to Disney wanting the First Order to replace the Empire as another Empire and they can't do that if a related organisation still exists. - Perhaps one way to sell it is that they recombined just prior to the events of The Force Awakens, The only problem with that is the Imperial remnant wouldn't be using First Order Star Destroyers. I smell revisionist History here.
