This video details how to create random melodies in Ableton Live 11.
These techniques utilize the randomness that can be created with Follow Actions, as well as some Max for Live devices that come with Ableton Live Suite.
Generating a Random Melody can follow a specific key or it can be chromatic.
The devices used for this are: Arpeggiator, the LFO Modulator, and the String Quartet Pack that comes with Ableton Live Suite 11.
You will also learn how to route MIDI generation to multiple tracks, as well as record the MIDI data, in case you wish to replicate something that was generated.
You can use this technique for Avant Garde, Electro-Acoustic Music, and your own experimental music.
This video was created by Lorne Bregitzer, an Associate Professor for the University of Colorado Denver. He is also an Ableton Certified Trainer.
