A few months ago I read an article where the writer said he didn't think Genesis's music aged well compared to some other Prog. rock bands from the seventies. No clue who wrote it cuz he's clueless and have no reason to remember his name nor the article. This is pure genius! The entire Lamb story is amazing, the story, lyrics, music, everything. The only crime is that they didn't take steps to preserve it visually. That is an amazing loss.

This is great! Its almost like they're creating a new genre of music as they play this. Listen to between 5:05 and 5:09 with Tony's choir strings playing with that hip hop style beat that Phil's playing - it's unlike anything I've ever heard. I kinda wish they would have explored that particular sound here a little longer. But this is crazy. It also sounds like Pete is either singing into some kind of distortion machine or he pre-recorded it but that voice in the background def sounds like Pete.

After watching a lot of Genesis interviews I have to say they seem like a bunch of pretty normal but very talented guys. This makes me wonder how in the HELL they cranked out these nine minutes of musical psychedelic madness on a whim. I am convinced they made a deal with the devil to create this. Jk. I wish they would have made a whole album in this style cause it would be brilliant.

I never liked The Waiting Room, until I heard the Liverpool version. This is f**king brilliant. Sounds like one of the crew or maybe Gabriel himself is messing round with a radio, tuning in and out of stations at one point. This is quite a scary version. Even the Southampton version, 3 nights before this is different and nowhere near as good. This is the second Liverpool show - I went to 3rd, on the following night, but can't remember much about it, because I was too busy trying to grope my first girlfriend, without much success - a bit like "Counting Out Time". haha.

I have always wondered who performed the brilliant vibraphone solo on the many live versions of this track. It appears at 2:50 on this version. It can’t be Phil, as he is heard doing some furious Tom Tom rolls whilst the solo is playing. I’ve always thought it might be PG. impressive solo anyway.
@FHDTV6 жыл бұрын
It sounds like it is Phil actually. If you listen closely the tom tom rolls stop and the vibes start. Both don't play at the same time. He had the kit set to where it was all setup in a circle around him so he had his roto toms and timbales to the left of him and the vibes were to the left of those so he went in a circle.
