Thanks for sharing your results. I can see the value in being able to strip small area, but there's still great value in the various off-the-shelf products when it comes to stripping an entire model.

Tamiya paint acrylic can be removed with windex … I have a issue removing Vallejo from plastic

no mate its should only effect paint, but always try on a little area first

Would ve nice to do some kind od comparison with brake fluid which usually does the same thing without damaging the plastic

Ace Bob, I have lightly tinted a clear canopy, do you think it would work on that to get the tint off?

could do but check on a spare canopy first, if not I us IPA all the time

I use Tamiya paint remover or Revell paint remover. Revell paint remover destroyed a bandai kit so be carefull with that one.

I really cant see a point of using something like that when I have big bottle of IPA.

Genuine question, Will IPA works on lacquer paint on clear parts? I did a really bad job of masking up my canopy and i want a second try 😂

@@fishnchips5826 It depends on lacquer you are using, but I never had any problem with Tamiya or Gunze lacquers (or any other stuff for modelers). IPA won't mess your clear parts, so you can just try it. If it doesn't work - DOT3 break fluid is the next in line. It will remove almost everything. Only problem may be with stronger, cheap lacquers. If it bites plastic, you may have to sand and polish those places.
