@@ZaraKane coming from other games, it blows my mind how little basic strategy is discussed in 40k. People only talk about list building. In GSC this is especially true, people seem overwhelmed by a faction that has its strengths in its special rules and not it's stats. That's why they're the faction for me !

Great video! Just a wee note about the Clandestine ability - it actually makes the Saboteur completely untargetable unless units are within 12", and as an addition they are -1 to hit from ranged weapon. It's actually a really exciting rule! One I hope other characters get

@@ZaraKane It is a pretty exciting idea - not having to babysit a character if I know there's no threats coming in behind. Just leave something like a Magus in some ruins & cast psychic powers out to units nearby without needing to leave the usual neophytes nearby.

I absolutely agree with you. I am also mad or scary about 4T on acolyte. But its to early to panic we need to wait a full codex.

Oh *thank god* I thought I was going crazy. I mentioned being leery about both of the Acolyte changes in Reddit and everyone disagreed with me. We string out all over the place. Having an Icon to reroll 1's is amazing. It's not like we can expect auras everywhere. I also play a bit of Necrons. If a 20 block of Warriors has a hard time surviving when guys get to come back after every attack, I don't think a unit of Acolytes or Neophytes is going to survive to my next Command Phase.

Definitely make a hovercraft, the greek army (edit: navy) ones look amazing and you could do a cool steam-punk GSC take on the concept.

Im not a huge fan of steam-punk, but definitely will explore the idea....Im thinking perhaps some kind of Baneblade chasis but instead of tracks, theres a hover-craft edge instead

@@ZaraKane Really? Interesting, I always found the GSC to have a real steampunky vibe, with all their improvised technology. A baneblade would definitely be a decent chassis. Looking forward to updates on this project.

That harridan idea got me thinking more of a repurposed asteroid mining craft. That way it could fly and have melee/mining weapons as well as other guns and stuff.

I'm hoping that an increase in the toughness of acolytes will translate to a buff for aberrants' toughness as well, provided neither gets some kind of ridiculous points hike.

One thing to note is that Custodes bikes aren't vehicles. So while we're wounding them on 2+ with the Reductus Explosives its only going to do 1 MW.

For the saboteur its not a "-1 to hit outside of 12 inches" its untargetable outside of 12" and -1 within 12" I think thats pretty damn good cause you can set her up to plink away at vehicles from 24" and can't be targeted by ranged fire!

I'm also concerned about a possible point increase on acolytes, if they remain a similar price they will be great. Put me down as cautiously optimistic. (I'm also a sucker for unit regen, Tervigons make it into every Tyranid list I make no matter how bad they are) I'm optimistic about the new codex, a crossfire rule has been mentioned with no details, and I dream of Neophytes having a use besides dying as distractions, running a rebel/insurgency themed list rather than big mutants has an appeal to me. I love teaming up with the local PDF so your idea about using a tank commander and chimeras to get brood brother squads into enemy lines is absolutely brilliant to me and I want to use it.

I usually play vs Imperial Fists who use Strength 5 Hellstorm bolters... Toughness 4 acolytes won't help at all. Now the enemy can make sure to wipe any squad with a cult icon, so reinforcements will probably be rare.

Hello, do you think shotguns on neophytes are worth it? I was thinking about having one team of autoguns with m. laser and nade for 24in range and second one with seismic, shotguns and flamers for 12inch range. Kinda like a feed for patriarch saves thath would follow him. (This setup is becouse i can afford 2 start col. boxes so far where you have 2 of each weapon) It doesnt have to be super competitive, just if they are like total garbage or just non meta B tier.

I dont bother with the heavy weapons at all. Shotguns all the way. Sometimes, MAYBE....grenade launchers as theyre not too bad.

Did I miss something? I thought the Saboteur's mine only damaged enemy models. You could put it at your feet as a charge deterrent, right?

It just says roll a dice for each model, not each enemy model. So I would assume all, regardless of faction.

So crossfire....... yeah i dont think any of us saw that coming and perfect ambush is nerfed and pointed as an upgrade so... so now we have rules on our rules with more rules!

Well....it wont even be anything similar to what Perfect Ambush was before. So whatever it "used" to be will probably become a baked in rule, if anything at all.

You've got another option for those Custodes. Bring them into the fold of the Cult. Kit bash some heads, add some third genestealer arms, and suddenly you've got a small Custodes detachment you can play without the guilt and self-loathing ;)
