The issue here is Mavuika's release date, not Hu Tao's. Mavuika was supposed to be released in v5.2, but they delayed her a patch for greedy reasons, or as they said in the special program they released her "in new year", what an excuse... In my opinion, they delayed the archon a banner on purpose and released all great characters and a cute skin all at once for greedy reasons because of that CN Community hussle that dropped their revenue.

I've seen and read all of these problems, and the only conclusion i came up with is that the real problem is the players, specifically, the toxic ones. 1. Regarding both new chars being in the same banner I see no problem, the problem rises up when you wanted both chars RIGHT NOW. Be wise on your spendings, be patient since there's a rerun. Hoyo mastered the art of FOMO abuse, if you're fomo, then that's YOUR problem. Keep in mind that in gacha games, the only way to get everyone on your acc is to work hard and be patient. If you installed the game for its gacha only without playing the actual game (Like exploring, abyss, IT etc), that's just gacha addict, and you need help. 2. Male chars feel underpowered Alhaitham? Kinich? Bennett? And don't forget the elephant in the room - Neuvillette. This problem is just a ridiculous exaggeration by the toxic community. 3. Hu Tao's new skin She just had her rerun a few patches ago, and if hoyo did rerun her, that'll just make another assumption where hoyo did it for marketing purposes. Also, if you think about it, Hu Tao's been around for a long time, most of the playerbase already have her. Again, it's just a ridiculous exaggeration by the toxic community. 4. Males being neglected It's purely about one's tastes, i have no objections about it. Capitano rumoured to be unplayable is a disappointment to me too, he could've been a spike on hoyo's revenues...

This is going wild. About Mavuika, people are making a lot of drama about her ult mechanics of fighting spirit, need a 100 to use it and 200 to her full potential. People forget that she also generates points with her tap or hold skill for her ult and if you don't have Xilonen nor Citlali, you can use pyro Aether for the job to solve it. Next the claim of "Mavuika forceful need Natlan characters to work, Hoyoverse play dirty to sell Natlan characters" but came from the same people to always have the "Furina, Bennet, Kazuha" pre set team for any single dps, we ask variety but at the same time, we use the exact same base for everything. The male character deficit came of course from the low sales (Like baizhu for example) that is the main reason from this issue, the same people tell Hoyoverse the path to take.

@Anika9691 And thats the other point, expectative over reality. They want the character to do 1M of damage or it's trash, and when those expectatives are not fulfill, they start to hate it. Baizhu is one of the best healers in the Game and have an amazing kit because one skill and easily can heal 10k of HP (with memorial of sacrifice r5 literally get him the c1) but then again, the expectative bury him. Same goes for Dehya, she's a tank character, however, people have really high expectatives on her, right now, she's a great unit in Neuvilette and Arlecchino comps and keep finding more places to fit. It seems that the fandom's expectations are part of the problem as well.

I mostly paid for Sumeru characters during 3.x patches, but after that I stopped paying and just collected primos for Archons and any charactsrs I really like. I am surprised by the banner for the next patch, but I was like "Eh, Mavuika first" because Archons are always my priority. If I regret not pulling for Chitali, well there's always next time. Apologies for the long comment There's actually a rumor that came out before which was mostly due to how it is for the ZZZ game of it being that Hoyoverse changed something specifically involving the new character releases making them start off new patches with the newly released characters, In ZZZ they did a compensation by making the banners for Harumasa and Miyabi last for the full patch instead of half a patch it would be a good idea if they keep this up and there was rumors of that this is how they're going to handle it for every game, with the rumor of new characters being dropped on patch one actually makes things easier for players who want the new character as they have double the usual time. but if Genshin doesn't do anything else but make the new characters appear in first phase it would put a sour taste in many and make the problem worse compared to Star rail and ZZZ which would be compensating the fact they're putting the new characters out in the first phase by making them last for the whole patch instead of half of it. So in conclusion its a recent change that Hoyoverse is making for their more recent titles having the newest characters drop first at the start of the patch but yeah while ZZZ's Devs made a good choice to say what was going to happen Genshin's devs didn't mention this and caused a lot of drama as a result so just terrible communication..

i see no problem in what they doing, the problem is the players, why they want every new character once they released. im f2p and i want to get mavuika (C0) only, so i saved for her, i have 556 wishes. also if i want a character the most i save for them only, its funny that people says i want this characters the most then they spend all their saved primos on other banners just to say the game is so greedy. people need to learn how to manage their primos and be mindfull when choosing their favorite characters.

I dislike how f2p players say banner phases are unfair because their preferences allows them to need every character, but it’s generally better to wait for characters between reruns to collect resources or primos. I want mavuika and citlali, but I don’t mind getting only 1 because I’m low on ascension materials for citlali, and would rather have her pre farmed then ascending mavuika and trying to get citlali’s mats at the same time. Better to pull 1 character, esp if you’re low on primos.

im f2p and I also don't understand why f2p want every single character that's new/on the banners. For me, I only desire furina, skirk and mavuika (only if I like her gameplay and if she's good) and I currently have around 103 wishes saved up since 5.1 (I don't do/ don't complete spiral abyss and I do Imaginarium theater on normal mode, and I suck at exploration) I rlly want furina since I have been unable to get her (if only I've saved up that 15 pity that I used for neuvi, and I don't even USE him) and I want skirk mainly because of her design. edit: I first used to try and get whoever the fuck was on the banner, but then I started to understand who I really wanted, and my guess is that these f2ps wanting every single new character must be new players, idk

I remember when people thought the Mavuika and Citlali banner would maybe run the whole patch like Miyabi on ZZZ or just that it would be the standard of one half of new/rerun and then 2nd of new/rerun. But to run both in the same half for the standard 3w then 2 really great reruns for 2nd half. It’s really rough. I also feel bad for new players who started during 5.X because the rerun banners alongside these Natlan units have been so brutal…

Hot take: I think the double banner isn't even a big deal for me personally. Sure, less primogems to save up if you're going for both Citlali or Mavuika ( like me ). Agree so hard. I am generally more of a 'rerun' puller. In my almost 3 years of playing, the only times I pulled on a new 5 Star character release were Ayato, Wanderer, Xianyun, and Chiori. Citlali will be the next one. It's because I like to spend more time testing for them and if I like them enough, I start saving for their eventual rerun. This way, I never pull anything I may start to regret eventually.

I think so too it being intentional. Since it's been leaked to the news both being Mavuika in 5.3 and Capitano not release in 5.X. Why? Well, considering Mavuika kit are much complicated than most, they probably took more time to adjust the skill so it'll not be equip to her, but her motorcycle now have other characters to use it. Just my personal opinion they wanted to try new things. But for the Male Character Being underpowered that's an overstatement; because Alhaitham has dominated the hyperbloom era in its entirety of 3.3 update, as Well Childe and Ayato was viable and was one of the strongest hydro dps, it's not that male character are underpowered but, no new playstyle has dominated the newer ones, even then Neuvilette is still the best DPS overall so that's just proved my point. For why Capitano not set in release in Natlan? It's because Genshin isn't near their endgame, a new leak confirmed that Snezhnaya would be an even bigger update, and 6.X would only covered HALF of the nation since the nation itself is being separated into two regions. Giving up a 1st harbinger this early on was already a bad move, especially with Arlecchino, which was luckily their mistakes. Arlecchino was ranked 4th of harbingers, to release a set of characters that are that big of deal early on would overshadow other harbinger that was gonna be set in release (for example, Pulcinella was gonna be confirmed to be released for Snehznaya, but why would you wanna pull a ranked 5th of harbinger if they already gonna have 1st or 4th banner and already got released before him.) Other harbinger would het overshadow by others that are already powerful than others in term of lore, they don't want to make same mistake twice so they held back other harbinger to shine first before we Capitano in action. That's my opinion

tbh im not thinking its intentional (but welcomed by hoyo) im scrolled threw the comments and im a bit shocked how fast ppl forget things. my guess is that the main thing why we have the 2 new 5* banner is because the pyro archon got delayed by the VA strike. this current patch w chasca was clearly a filler and from what i can tell a improvised update. because the "interlude" quest was just a joke. my guess is that the orginal plans was in 5.2 to drop archon w her story quest and the weekly boss while the rest of the patch is kinda quiet and the continue the archon quest in 5.3, but w the strike they delayed her and her story quest. and for the greed aspect i think thats a problem on anyone specific. i play on 2 account (main welkin only, 2nd f2p) on both acc i have a lot of primos because i play them pretty long (main since day 1, f2p since teapot update with 1 year after the update not playing on it) i started natlan w 50k primos saved, pulled mulani, skipped kenich, pulled xilonen, pulled chasca and c6 ororon and have atm 80 primos, on my 2nd acc its simular. the problem is what ppl dont realize over time u have a good base on your acc and can skip a lot (got zhong since 1st rerun and neuvi since release on both acc) while others need to spend primos to build a base i have done that over the years for the skin actually the skin is pretty late, i save up everytime the 300 genesis crystals that u get w the welking and im see from how many genesis i have the skins are pretty late. usually i was got barely enough to get the 5* char skin but now im way over it tltr: i dont get why ppl getting upset, if they analize the situation it all makes sense

Maybe this was related to some sort of leak about extending new banners' duration? I remembered watching something about all three games of Hoyoverse ( Genshin, HSR and ZZZ) will have a new banner system where new characters' banners will last for an entire patch while rerun characters stay the same, so that's why they put both Mavuika and Citlali in the same phase. I know leaks are not trust-worthy, but I cannot think of any other reasons why Hoyoverse decided to do that though 😅

Yeah but there's a limit and finesse required. If it becomes prohibitive, it will lose players. For example, they could make the currency cost 10 times more or 100 times more, but do you think that would get them more revenue? If players who actually pay for these things feel like they're being taken for fools, there's a high chance they'll stop paying altogether. F2P players are completely irrelevant in this, since they don't bring any revenue and losing them loses the company nothing.

A few things: First of all revenue isn't down 60% in China. It's down 8.3% and guess what? That's bound to happen when a game isn't new anymore and the honeymoon is over. Secondly waifu sells better than husbando. You cannot force a square peg into a round hole, so they would be stupid to try and force people to buy husbandos. Thirdly, Capitano is going to die permanently as part of the story. He will trade his life so that Mavuika and Xilonen can live. Fourth and finally, there's no law against spending money. People act like they are entitled to get all the best characters for free, so it's Hoyoverse's responsibility to spread them out. News flash: Nobody owes you jack, so get a job or a second job and spend some money. Or quit whining like a toddler and wait 9 or 10 months for a re-run.

This year is not only CN community outraged for good, Global community is such a main problem making some nonsensible politics about Natlan characters' skin or something, ranting about discouraged the Aztec gods that is so inaccurated for them and the shocking incident(For top - title games) of EN VAs' strike that made lots of quests and events have many characters muted especially of Nahida's birthday that is the most frustrated things almost playable characters even Nahida, the main characters were muted. That's one of the incident every EN enjoyers have such bad reputation against Formosa, one of the main voice company, this also made Hoyoverse raged quit and broke the contract between them at last, making some of EN VAs in vacuum state for now. Some of them has come back like Kachina and some NPCs (The strike also affected NPCs, but they chose to replace voiceover instead of being muted), yet the strike has still intact though it's not as intent as it was. I really hope there would be no main characters of the quest or event to be muted, making us raged quit about this anymore. (This incident is back to dire since 5.3 EN livestream that having no EN voiceover trailer, proving it there's still have some voiceover missing, and this would be the first lantern rite that maybe the less hyped for good) PS : Hoyoverse is not the company facing VAs' strike, some other games like Nikke, Epic 7 or ToF also have some voiced to be replaced. the example is Poli from Ice Dragon Saga event in Nikke that replaced the old VA for strike incident. Epic 7 have some characters to be replaced their updated voiceover and ToF that have new VAs for Meryl : Ironheart, the reskinned of Meryl that affected both former EN(Kira Buckland) and JP(Yui Ishikawa) while CN(Qin Xiyi) is still the same of classic variant. ToF also have a dire incident that cannot afford for the MC's voiceover with EN or JP in 4.5 story mode, only CN dubbing remains. PS 2 : Some companies doesn't tolerate about EN VAs' strike and make EN voiceover no longer be supported, War Of The Vision : Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is one of them. They are giving primos so... And makes easy to earn more primos rather than going around the map when you already claimed all the chest and commissions
