Tbph, I wish they put more emphasis on the actual combat mechanic on Genshin aside from just trying to attain the highest possible damage in game or in short playing the number's game. I want more weapon variation, actually different and impactful movesets in game, dodges that feel good and consistent, something like a parry mechanic. As far as I'm concerned at least, the combat is not that deep because its a game where the fun lies at mashing buttons, chain reactioning every element to get the highest number as high as possible, well, while that is ok, still that quite sucks since that doesn't really excuse a bad combat system.

Genshin’s Combat is more about exploiting the environment than execution. While this can encourage players to fight smart, it’s kinda a moot point when Domains get involved since the ground is usually clear and all of the reactions are on you and you alone. Now that I think about it, outside of geos, I don’t think there are any characters whose whole deal is molding the environment. Then again, I’ve been away from the game for a while.

Boring Combat would be fine if the enemies you fight had really cool and unique movesets that require a careful study of its patterns in order to win. That's why some modded Terraria bosses are so much fun. The game's combat system isn't the most complex thing in the entire world, but the boss fights are so engaging and interesting that they can make the combat a lot more enjoyable in turn.

Honestly, you did very well for a first time player. Gundyr actually _is_ absurdly easy provided you've learned how the combat system works - he was designed to be fought at starter levels, after all - but there's no shame in losing to him a few times until you get the hang of it. The Pus of Man enemies (big black snake things) are basically traps and optional challenges. Even the Lothric Knights aren't that bad once you learn to circle and backstab them. I usually deal with the Winged Knight by heading to the area with the estus shard, getting above him and then just tossing a lot of firebombs at him.

@@sergmanprime Everything dark souls is mostly a reference to Berserk Gael has a machine crossbow and a big ass sword, also a reference to Artorias, which is also a reference to Guts. The Greatsword in Elden Ring (which is actually a Colossal Sword) is quite literally designed after Guts' sword

I only started playing Genshin two month ago and I played Dark Souls for a couple years. I want to say that DS is really not that hard as it seems to be, but in some boss fights you need to have a 100% concentration and will be harshly panished for mistakes. Genshin is more about strategy of your party members while DS is about learning to be patient.

@@Avocado_san Yes and the fact that you could technically force your way thru bosses with revive food, running around, gacha luck system which makes it so u might get a weapon that others don't have and that would make it much easier.

Ds3 isnt the easiest it just has the smoothest gameplay. The bosses are actually the most complex and difficult of the franchise imo. (not counting BB or sekiro)
