Genuine & Fake - Kingston 64GB Micro SD Cards

Unfortunately I've bought counterfeit SD Card. After I had noticed the fake I bought the genuine one. See the differences and similarities between the both cards so you wont get fooled. I've used some software to test them: SD Insight, A1 SD Bench, H2testw.

I've been looking online to buy a microSD card, preferable 256GB. The crazy thing is, there are so many sellers even on sites like Lazada and Shopee that sell them very cheaply, like $10 for 256GB!! Right there and then we have red flags. And then they have Samsung, SanDisk, Kingston and even.. Huawei! Take your pick! And here's the sad part: the folks who purchased them posted reviews swearing that they're authentic even if the font used for '256GB' on a Kingston packaging is obviously fake (many folks posted photos)! If you look further though, there are also many reviews saying their files got corrupted but recovered, they only got 8GB usable, etc., obvious signs that they're fake, and yet no one even mentioned that they thought they were fake!! Either the seller removes reviews that say they're fake or people are just stupid or in denial that they got swindled!! Be careful guys, if it's too cheap you know there's something fishy, even if the seller absolutely guarantees their authenticity.

I bought two micro sd and, about esthetic details, all looks legit but H2Test show both are fakes. Scares me how legit looks and that's explain why even certified stores are having troubles to know they're selling fakes cards.

i got the original one it's 1000% exactly like the one on the left. and same capacity too 64GB.. only one thing... on the back it has no serial number or anything! is it ok?

Yup - Bought some 32 GB and they look like the one on the left ... these were closeouts at Kroger ... testing them now with H2testw ... Edit: testing is looking good ... looks like genuine Kingston 32GB from Kroger

You can still recover some of it maybe all of it if you have the SD card

One of the first you will notice in a fake kingston sd card is the poor detail printing on the surface of the adapter, in genuine package the adapter has a very defined drawing and in the fake one even the trademark symbol is absent cuzz only kingston originals is able to print in such small detail. And the SD insight app is the complete detector. This phenomena has arrived to argentina!

Hmm i bought an 64 gb canvas slect plus one...and i have an mixed experience, the package is good, the sd card says china, the micro taiwan, both looks legit, sd insight says phison, 62 gb free...but write speed are slow (5- 15 mbs) idk...looks like i got a fake one? At least i can copy large files and i already used 60 gb without problems

You will always find that number because the missing storage is taken by the system

Damn, I got a fake one as well, ordered from Amazon. I've filed a complaint against the third party seller through Amazon and if they do not reply by the beginning of next week I'm reporting them. There is no way a seller doesn't know that they are selling fakes unless the transport company falsifies shipments.

I just bought a fake 128GB fake at a flea market in Stockholm. I guess I'm going to keep it. It has a 125 GB of usable space. The write time is extremely slow, extremely slow. For 200 kr ($23.00)... I'm just glad that I didn't give him the 350 kr ($40) that he was asking for.

At 1.44 yeah I bought a 32gb for $10 and when I'm using the camera app to store my photos in SD card it says SD card error can't store photo, video. It will work perfectly in the 1st day but it will be shit onwards. Moral of the story, buy sd card in retail store and not online. And most important before u accept offer from strangers check that there is no tiny holes in the cover. This happened to me before and I wasted my $10 luckily it was a cheap one

Hola acabo de comprar otra micro sd de 32 gb clase 10 marca kingstone ahora si en un centro establecido la cheque con el sd insight pero en marca y manufacture me dice q la fabrico Panasonic y trae como almacenamiento 28.8 gigas en total. tengo hasta mañana para ir a reclamar tengo dudas sobre autenticidad y espacio me podrias ayudar porfa ?

Try another card reader (I use Kingston FCR-MRG2) or maybe your card is not "class 10" or above?
