As they mature they try to bite you. Or charge at you. It's instincts. They're VERY heavy for their size and damn strong. And according to the natives, damn tasty. In South Australia they used to have a huge amount of them to the point some farmers said they had more wombats than sheep.

I just loved this story. The Wombats are so cute and these 2 ladies are great people taking care of these orphaned babies. I know it has to be done but it would break my heart to see them go. Lol yes, potatoes with legs!,when they are born, they are about the size of a grain of rice! Like a grub. They climb from the mothers vulva to the pouch. They are truly incredible.

Once they're out of their juvenile years, they try to bite you with the 2 inch teeth or ram you. It's instinct and it's very rare if they don't do it. In the end you can't handle them at all.

I don’t know how much work I could get done with such cute,huggable buddies around. A few months ago at my work,(in a refurbished mill on a lake in farm county),a kitten was “dropped off “, we named her Millie,a few weeks later another kitten. They do get in the way and slow us down a wee bit,but earlier in the year we got a memo to pause for a bit every once in a while to “ smell the roses”, so we pet the kitties. “ their carerer has to give them lots of attention,geez such a tough job. They’re super cute! As adults they’re not so friendly- not aggressive at all, just loners. In the bushfires last year they harboured other animals in their boroughs!!! 😍 They’re solitary creatures so this was such a caring gesture- they saved so many animals!
