@@videre8884 Even if those people were not crazy to someone like you, the best that can be said about them is that are irrevocably superficial, driving all the way there and refusing him because of how sad he looks. The pup needs love, understanding, and work to improve his demeanor, and many get rejected because of how closed off they become in their depressing situations. So Romeo was lucky to be rejected by those crazy people unable to give him what he needed because they didn't have it in them, he can go on to someone that does love him. A dog is not an accessory for families to be bought and then discarded because of whims, and too many crazies do just that.

Some people treat animals like accessories, and if the animal doesn't work with their interior decor they get all bent out of shape over it. Which is mind-blowingly stupid, but that's humans for you. This dog looks like a totally normal German Shepherd, so I don't know what they were smoking to reject him. Their loss.

I think in USA, before a dog is adopted, they have to put in the ads if the dog friendly with other pets or not. Also why don't set a 2 week cooling period if the dog adapts the new home or the new owner like it or not! That's system do in Australia. And finally, as pet owners, sometimes adopted dogs need adaptation with new owner's current dogs, as most dog trainers say it takes between 3 and 6 months. Thus, I can say, many pet owners don't know about that and are too lazy even on a weekend or nighttime to train the dog to be social.

@@PerfidionI agree with you,I’ve had 4 German shepherds over the years, 2 were puppies and 2 were rescues ,we persevered with the rescues to settle them in with our own dogs. We would not pass them on, GS are generally a one man dog, it all worked out fine😂.

@@SharonDelaneyosen The only thing "wrong" about his look is that whatever happened to him. Has clearly made him timid and shy, which requires patience. And they were probably looking for a dog who was full of life and excited to see them right away. We don't know if it was a childless couple. But if this family had young kids, it was probably for the best. Their not gonna understand that before you could start teaching and playing with a dog like this. It was going to have to take time to get the dog to fully be able to relax and stop with the avoidance. In that sense it would be easier for a family, provided you had parents who knew what they were doing. To get an overexcited dog to start to calm down and be more gentle around kids, than it is to train the the other way around. Going to a foster first was the right call, someone who has the time and energy with the main focus to teach the dog how to be a dog again.

No, it was potential adopters... they got there to pick him up and rejected him for his looks. I guess he was picked up as a stray, because they said he'd been there a month and nobody came looking for him.

German Shepherds are just the best dogs-so sensitive and loving. They are my favorite breed; I grew up with a very sweet German Shepherd named Brandy. That was 50 years ago and I still miss him. So glad Romeo found a good home. Those would-be owners are nuts! Can’t they see what a sensitive, intelligent, handsome dog he is? Glad he found a better place. 😊

Ah, the LA Carson shelter, I know it pretty well. So many Shepherds, I boarded and fostered a few in SoCal myself. Those first people didn't deserve him, and thank dog they didn't take him. Also, thank you to Kels and Katie for this foster, transport, and adoption teamwork. Here in the NE now, but if I could make the time and find support, I think I'd happily drive x-country again to pick up a couple of shelter dogs to rehome.💕🐾☮️
