Same with cats. My golden girl Maisey (tabby) rolled over and bared her belly in my arms. She now cuddles me when I am asleep and lays on my chest when opportunity arises. Sometimes she lays right on my face.

It’s a beautiful thing to see a man melt when he finds his dog. I know how he was. Daddy didn’t ever have his own dog. He grew up on a farm. They had farm dogs. I got a poodle as a gift at 9 years old. He melted when she would snuggle up with him. I love this video. Thank you for taking her home and making her feel safe again.

Aw poor girl, she looked defeated😢You have done a fantastic job in getting her to trust humans again. I adopted a mini rescue cavapoo last year and although she hadn't been mistreated from what I could tell, she had just been a lap dog and was underweight with poor muscle tone. My vet advised me to build up her walks gradually as her back patellas kept dislocating. She was born without a tail, has anal gland issues, a malformed spine and also a horrible condition called syringomyelia😮I have shed many tears over the last 15 months since I brought her home, trying to get the right pain relief for her, to pick up on signs when she needs picking up on our walks, which foods don't irritate her stomach and so much more. She gives me 100% love every single day, is so affectionate with every human she meets, is a proper little character and makes me smile. However long or short her life is, I will give her the very best life that I can. They are wonderful companions😊❤

My dear dog was rescued out of a puppy mill when she was 4 years old. She was used as a mamma. She loved her dad so much... She loved me too but with him she blossomed. She was his little princess. We needed to say goodbye to her less than a month ago. She left pacefully while laying on our laps, at 16 years old.

What the lady said at the end is something I think about a lot. I lost my 2 sweet little old fur babies in 2022 and 2023 and it was devastating. 6 months later I adopted a GSD and our bond is so strong, when the horrible day comes, I will, for sure, be broken. Dogs just don’t live long enough but that’s why I give him the life he deserves! ❤😢

This could be the story of me and my Rosie. She was also glued to the wall and terrified. Once she understood she was safe, she became the most loyal, loving dog ever. She saved my live when intruders entered my home in the early hours one morning, so it was literally a case of I saved her and then she saved me. She passed last year after a wonderful 8 years with me. I wish Bella a long and happy life with you guys too. You will be blessed in so many ways for opening your heart to her.

I’m thoroughly convinced that dogs understand our language. If the owner said something like “and one day the stock market crashed and Does Bella want to go for a walk” ?, I guarantee that she would perk up at the 2nd half of that sentence. My first dog (Chico), would try to speak his reply and it would be a little garbled. But he definitely would reply to an offer of going for a walk.

I remember my now ex wife and I adopting our first rescue. He was “skittish of men” and was supposed to be more her dog than mine. Apparently Tanis had other plans because from day one on the car ride home he was clearly my dog. I don’t know why he choose me but I’m glad he did. When we had to euthanize him due due very poor health conditions that were far beyond our financial capacities my heart was shattered. I stayed alone and held him in my arms when he was given the shot. I couldn’t allow him to be alone in his final moments without knowing he was loved and safe. It was one of the most difficult moments in my life but I would do it many times over just to have those wonderful years we had together all over again.

That's exactly how my girl Miriam was when I took her in. There were 3 other dogs in my pack. But, she just wouldn't come near me. It took me a good 2 months to get her to eat from my hand or to sit with the rest of the pack near me in the living room. But the day she did, that was it. That was 9 years ago and she's velcro now! For a good 2 years after joining us, she had nightmares. Then, they went away. Love, peace and a lot of patience really does heal everything.

An elderly chihuahua came up to my son on Christmas Day 2019. It was obvious she had been on here own for some time. They bonded immediately and there were many tears shed when she passed away two years later. I can assure you those were the best two years of her life and he became a much more compassionate individual. Animals are wonderful.
