In the Elvis version, the low parts were done by the awesome J.D. Sumner, one of the lowest gospel basses ever. Geoff has expressed his intent to do J.D. justice.

You missed the outro! I absolutely love the video he did for this one! The chair tip was practical. He put a clip of him rehearsing it in his patreon. Check in his description for all the credits; but Layne did the steadicam, Eli ran his lighting, Chris Dupré did his choreography. This is the set backdrop that was used on VoicePlay's "Friends on the Other Side" cover. Musically, Geoff et al outdid himself, totally in service to the song. JD Sumner was Elvis's longtime bass BV and went down to a C1 on the original recording. Geoff had to pay homage with his final note in this cover. It took him 80 takes to get there, but he's committed (and by the end of those takes probably thought he should be committed, lol) and as a result, we can have all our eardrums rattled with that low C1. I couldn't wait for your reaction to this, now go back and watch his preview to get a feel for how excited he was to do this one. It totally shows in the end product. Plus-butt wiggle! 😊😊

I love that this was filmed in Pattycake Studios. Eli did the lightning and Layne was the steady cam operator. The BTS is fun. Lots of giggling on set.

This was honestly my favorite song that Geoff has released, you can really tell that he had so much fun with this one! I always have a big smile on my face every time that I watch it. And the song is so catchy, it has been in my head since it was released. I'm glad that you liked it also!

Before the video was released to patrons, Geoff released a short where he was showing that chair walk over to Eli. (Think the infamous southern boy saying hey, watch this!) As he did it, the chair collapsed and clattered to the floor. You could hear Kathy gasp in the background. Fortunately, he landed fine.

@@RollingDutchmann Yes, his wife Kathy wears hearing aids because of degenerative hearing loss. They discuss it in Geoff's video, Hearing Loss. Even if she had them out, she'd still gasp watching her hubby doing that potentially dangerous stunt. She films and edits a lot of the BTS footage for both Geoff and VoicePlay.

Of the dozen or so reactors that I habitually watch (and subscribe to), you get the most repeat watches, hands down. I've probably watched your Dragonborn reaction five or six times, just because I adore how you fangirl over it. 😁 Also, you CATCH things I can't believe. Like that little "ha / ha" in your ears at the word "breathin'." That effect was so SUBTLE, if you hadn't mentioned it it would have flown right past me. You just have incredibly attentive hearing. Color me impressed. I'm still watching the video so it's only from the comments that I know you missed the outro on the first pass. You make the third reactor that's done this, and it's driving me crazy. I always watch Geoff's videos to the Patron list, just in case I miss something. And I always watch with the closed captions on because he is very descriptive and occasionally hilarious. The captions described that last note as "Super Duper Low". I think the extra descriptive part may be because his wife Kathy has profound hearing loss partially corrected with hearing aids. Closed captioning is a fact of life in their house. Great reaction, Mortius, loved the Geoff giggles!

Yes, I always watch with the captions on, even if sometimes the typos make me twitch ("feeling ancy" in Oogie Boogie's Song) because we often see Geoff's sense of humor. "Gentle a cappella music" at the intro of Dragonborn Comes when Geoff is rumbling in the basement? "Subterranean" at the end of Oogie Boogie?

I think after the somber Big Bad John and melancholy Ain't no Sunshine, Geoff just needed to bust out and have some fun! I loved it, still makes me giggle every time I see it. Not a fan of Elvis but did quite like this song, of course Geoff took it to another level. I thought those harmonies at the end were gorgeous and that low C1, astonishing! 80 takes to perfect that one note, you have to admire the dedication to his art! Loved the reaction, your enthusiasm is infectious! 🙂👍

I always love your reactions.... This is one of my favs by Geoff. I was giggling like a schoolgirl all the way through. It took him 80 tries to hit that C1 at the end. I watched the outtake video for this song, and it is funny. It did take several tries with the chair considering it was a folding chair.

I watched the original video just before I watched this reaction... and... it left me with this strange... not really uncomfortable, but definitely strange feeling of "What did I just watch?" Not the vocals, the singing was amazing as always, but the cinematography and 'narrative' of the video definitely caught me off guard, though at least the thumbnail gave me a little bit of a heads up that this was going to be an interesting one XD I don't care that you didn't say a lot, it was just fun seeing this one with you, Mortius!

It may be the various spellings of Geoff his dopplegangers are using may be typo's of his name that he's encountered so far. I know there are three spelling variants of my forename with the differences being UA, EW and also EUA (yes the last one is an actual variant spelling as one place I worked had someone with that spelling), I've also encountered from a few company receptionists completely wrong forenames of John & George when I had stated my first name

So, what is BIF? So far, have only seen two fairly negative reactions, one from someone who could not get past the 'grossness' of the singing into the toilet brush (despite acknowledging that it was surely never used and clean at the time of filming) and someone who found the humor not to his taste. Well, that's okay, I have never watched a Geoff video on continual repeat as much as I have this one, and daresay I will continue to do so for awhile. Guess I'm just into cheesy bathroom humor delivered with such goofball enthusiasm.

Absolutely loved this video. I wasn't as familiar with the original so I listened to it before this one. I like Geoff's better. Maybe the recording I heard was lackluster, but I just couldn't distinguish the lyrics as well in the original. And having it a 'normal' person just singing/dancing while working honors Elvis (for those who see him as The King(tm) still) better than trying to *be* Elvis, imho.
