This song is from the movie, the rhythm always makes me think of trudging over the mountains. The follow up he did, I See Fire, wasn't in the movie, The Desolation of Smaug, but was used over the credits at the end. Geoff doesn't do a capella in his solo work, he likes to use his musical knowledge to make the backgrounds.

Geoff is just an amazing arranger and vocalist. It is mind blowing to realize that he does almost every part of his videos from costumes to video editing.

As you said, Geoff as a dwarf does not quite compute, but Geoff as a SINGING dwarf works! I think this one got a whole new group of people becoming aware of him. These videos are so much hard work, but team Castellucci does a great job. He says he does not do a capella in his own works because he leaves that for Voiceplay.
