George carlin would be having one hell of a field day on stage if he was still with us. Nothings changed since he died and things have only gotten worse

I've only just Turned 30,However I was brought up on a steady diet of George Carlin,Bill Hicks & Richard Pryor from when I was about 12. I'm in To quick cut n dry comedians these days ,Jimmy Carr (back in the day) & Frankie boyle ,and a Canadian comedian called Jason rouse, dark humour is my thing these days.However.....what really boils my piss is, why can't comedians be outlandish these days and be absolutely brutally messed up,Tell the truth, fucked up stories, I'm from the UK like, I can see it, a few of my friends have been approached about there material...they don't give a F like, But I feel propper bad for comics that start off,get pressured when they get clout, then change there shit.....sorry for the vent guys, anyone else having trouble on the stand up circuit you know of?

I am an avid carlin enjoyer, but no he’s definitely not right all the time especially as he got older and more into drug use his standup started to turn into more like angry rants and tirades. which some people only know him for, which is strange to me because his younger material was actual comedy gold like baseball v football and time

Can’t be an atheist without being a cunt about it. Carlin was right about a lot of things (despite being a hypocrite who accrued a lot of material wealth while talking as if he was part of the working class) but he was wrong about religion. The ‘big club’ he talks about wants to dismantle Christianity ( as well as nationality, race) precisely because it gives people an identity and once stripped they are merely animals with material needa and easier to control. But yeh sounds edgy to sjit on religion and everything that came before. A am also athesit btw.

Love Carlin, and I love his thoughts on war, but the Ukr/Rus tags aren't really insightful. Carlin's insights are scathing for the American mentality and american experience of war and war lust. I think it's reflective of a kind of American exceptionalism to assume all American material is just automatically related by default. The context matters, and the history matters. Carlin is going to get clicks regardless - he's timeless. I just think Carlin is best when discussing the American mentality towards war, but y'all might disagree.

Lets see. Russian reason to start a military operation in Ukraine. 1st to stop NATO expansion towards the Russian boarders even though US and NATO had an agreement that they would never do. 2nd. The poppet installed leader of Ukraine was for 10 years killing Russian Ukrainian civilians. US REASON TO ATTACK IRAQ. US government causation that Iraq was sitting on a huge pole of weapons of mass killing, so they attacked Iraq and carpet bombed every inch of Iraq’s land. Killed over 1 million civilians which 400 thousand were children. AFTER THE ENTIRE IRAQ WAS DESTROYED MR. BUSH SAYS NO WEAPON, buy joking and laughing acting like a clown that he is looking under the podium and joking NO NO WEAPNS HERE, and the rest of the evil government were laughing so hard that they almost Peed in their pants. Thats just one comparison between what Russia has done and what US did.
