These stand clips are really important. Small segmemts of really successful comics, in a format we mostly don't see, we only really see their polished 30m/1hr specials

Wow, George looks so young here. He was about 37 here, but looks to be almost 10 years younger in my opinion. His act was very clean here. He is extremely mild here. He developed into a comedic dynamo as he got older.

Come on, it's logic, right ? everybody looked much younger 37 years ago in 1974 AND George was also 37 years old. And you know that a lot what George was talking about through the years it all came out ànd is happening now. Yea, some say he's more a visionary than a comedian. ❤

10 years younger?? He's 37 but he looks 45..but moves like 37.at least that how he would look now compared to a 45 yr old today who might look 35.ppl look younger today

@@Carousel5883 People’s appearance is not so much dependent on the era they were born in as a whole. Everybody’s lifestyle and natural rhythm, habits, diets, breathing, thinking process, belief system are different. Their unique combination of lifestyle, along with their inherited DNA features, all create their appearance. Also, a person’s experiences shape their body, mind, psyche, emotions. Also, their environment, the people close to them, all shape how they appear.

@@angeloiodice9304yes that's true, especially with race .with the ,black don't crack and Asian look younger.i know it's generalisations.in Asia ppl I get my age within5 year bracket but in Europe and US they always guess I'm 10 sometimes 15 years younger..

@@Carousel5883 I lived in Asian countries, and I agree, many look years younger. But, many watch their diet and remain extremely active, all day hiking, biking. I used to go to sulfur bath spas where everybody bathed in hot mineral waters and exercise and stretch. Some guys well into their 80’s can knock off 15 pull-ups and many many push-ups and they stretch like pretzels. So youthful. However, 40 years ago in Asia, the people were much thinner, as I observed. The traditional diet of grains as a mainstay was followed. Nowadays, with the influx of the heavy western diet, people are much heavier. Traditionally, dairy was not an important food in Asia. In Japan, dairy was taboo. It was actually thought of being barbaric to consume the milk of another mammal. Seems like those of almost every indigenous nation that follow the customs, traditions, lifestyle and diet of their native countries, keep their health and youth longer. In India, the Himalayas, I could not keep up with the rail thin men in their 80’s, scurrying up the mountains like squirrels, subsisting mostly on glacier waters and a piece of flatbread.

Loved George when he did his weather skits on the Ed Sullivan show like around 69 to 70. George is pointing at a map of the U.S and discussing various weather systems that are supposed to occur throughout the country. Then he says that one state is currently experiencing a "severe pressure center". "Now a lot of you viewers have written into the network asking what a severe pressure center is". George points at the map of the U.S with the weather system labeled "severe pressure center" and answers, "That is severe pressure center!". Fucking hilarious. 🤣

I believe this is the episode Sparks are on. First time I saw them, and I became a fan. Would love to see the footage some day. EDIT: I guess it was later in 1974 on the November 22 broadcast...but still, I'd love to see the footage for the first time in almost 50 years.

0:35 For George's edification. You listening, George? The philtrum (Latin: philtrum from Ancient Greek φίλτρον phíltron, lit. "love charm"), or medial cleft, is a vertical indentation in the middle area of the upper lip, common to therian mammals, extending in humans from the nasal septum to the tubercle of the upper lip. And for the guy who wanted me to specifically answer the ridges question: The philtral columns are the two small ridges that run along either side of this groove up to the bottom of the nostrils. Happy now, buddy?

@4:50 - I am pretty sure, almost sure, I remember some 70's television special where Carlin came on stage and just stood there and said nothing, Stood and stared, the audience laughed some, but he just stood there for a few minutes, then said 'Thank You' and exited. Does anybody else remember that? Was that on Midnight Special or Tony Orlando or some other variety show .. or ... am I thinking of another comic?
