Great movie. Great photography, great music, love Dianne Reeves. Patricia Clarkson, gorgeous. David Russell Strathairn phenomenal. Jeff Daniels as always great. George Clooney, a masterpiece. Not one to watch a movie more than once, twice at the most but this one, definitely gonna watch it again. Thank you.

Strathairn is always fabulous. Congratulations to Clooney for having the integrity to make this film. I missed the film when it came out but it’s impossible to find on tubi or any of the free movie channels so those of us who can’t afford the pay channels will never see it, alas.

i think he made it in black & white because it was probably WAY cheaper than refurbishing all that vintage equipment (which, no one could fault him for, making it independently)

Well he was in the Good German around the same time in B/W also I thought it was because they were period pieces and made them feel more authentic.

I really like the film I saw it in the theater just because my ex boyfriend was an extra in it but it was a historic and intelligent picture with themes still relevant now. I like what George said about Macarthys own arrogance hurting him more than anything Edward said because he just expected to label people traitors regardless of their accomplishments or reputation unfortunately some media does that now too just spread some gossip ruin careers etc. and the public has even less critical thinking skills now than back in the day and they don't want to be educated as much as just entertained another era of bread and circuses I think.

Who is "yogi" ? Yogi bear?

Ed Murrow wanted TV to 'educate' the public and not just entertain and present a 'smoothed over' version of life. If he were alive today, I think he would be livid over how News Networks present slanted views and outright lies. He would probably prefer it if TV had just remained 'merely wires and lights in a box'.
