Badass routine. The 20 rep squat is the most demanding and hardcore exercise for legs and lungs 💪💪💪💪

I was visiting Las Vegas in the mid 80's. Eiferman owned a gym there, and l went there to do a workout. He personally greeted me and struck up a conversation with me. He was genuinely interested in me and complimented my physique ( despite it being only modestly developed). He gave me a little pocket card with rules to live your life by. I bought several of his logo gym shirts. He was a very nice man.

Eiferman was also one of the first back in the 40s to achieve more of a modern bodybuilder look. Old magazines just a few years earlier didn't even advertise benches but he'd be one who first developed that full chest/pec look. Well, Reeves certainly did even more but his physique was hard to emulate so over the ensuing several decades, more "modern" bodybuilders looked like Eiferman than Reeves or Grimek. And certainly a lot different from those in the 30s and 40s who often looked about as muscled as today's male models. The big take away from both Eiferman and Reeves is how simple compound movements are the real key to success.

Eiferman looked good. I always thought by looking at his many Contest photos that he was a good 8 lbs too heavy each time- even for that time period. His Calves needed some extra size. Just my opinion- I competed in the WBBG Teenage Mr. America in 1978- so,I know how important Symmetry is.

Tough session that, I wouldn’t be able to put sufficient effort into the rest of the stuff if I sent it properly on the 20 rep squats for 3 rounds! His stamina and strength is next level, 400lbs on the squats and 300lbs on the btn press, man was a machine

I got my nicest physique I've ever had by doing 30 rep squats it was during the covid stuff when gyms were closed lol

That is awesome. I trained at home during the pandemic, and made some of the best gains too....no commercial gym, no problem. When I came back to the gym, all the roided guys were depressed, as they had lost their gains...and when they saw me, they couldn't believe that I had made so many gains...as a natural too! They asked, how did you do it? I laughed.

@@emiliskudrevicius it only makes sense. I take this factor into account when creating programs for my clients. It enhances longevity in training as it prevents joint degradation, whilst strengthening the skeletal structure and muscle from different angles leading to complete development. We can talk about all this tomorrow during our call :)

Great content! I'd like to ask you on this: do you think if 20 rep squat could be replaced with heavy sled push/pull? It would have even more systemic impact, but with zero joint stress and axial loading and it's not that technical. I always think that to perform a very technical and potentially dangerous excercise in an almost fainting out state is something extremely dangerous.
@ByronTexas28 күн бұрын
You should try it. I’ve been wondering the same thing. Look into hip-belt squats if you haven’t already. I use the IRONMIND one. It’s fantastic

20 rep squat is just building up endurance. Nobody has got big and developed on just 20 reps of squats. If it really worked we'd all be doing 20 rep squats. It's another myth. Like HIT.

@@GoldenEraBookworm I'm a former competition powerlifter along with basic judo training. This back in the early 80s to early 90s when various injuries & illness put paid to these. Along with long hours as a nurse working with heavy CVA patients. But each time thereafter I took up weights I found I could bulk up quickly. Even though my calorie intake is fairly low. I'm Vegan too BTW. Vegetarian back then. Yes using old school routines with stretching & deep breathing exercises. Using various chest expanders in conjunction with dumbells. Even high poundage archery bows which work well for me would you believe. At my age & with lower back issues & a shoulder injury that's never truly healed I'm limited to what I can do. There's a lot of bullcrap these days about the old school strength athletes routines being outdated & ineffective. These guys were the real deal IMO not the steroid fuelled 180kg monsters we see frequently now. Your channel should get more views too. Great stuff
