Class act, George Foreman, to pay tribute that way to another great heavy-weight, Joe Frazier, one of the best heavyweight fighters of all time, even though he was small for the weight class. Foreman was an amazing fighter in his prime, and he stayed that way long after all of the so-called "experts" said he was too old to win the title, but Big George proved them wrong. an all-time great, no question that his place in history is secure.

Might be a little late, but Joe wanted to kill one man in the ring and that was none other than Muhammad Ali. Ali’s trash talk brought a whole world of pain to Frazier and his family. George was very humble & was probably telling the truth. Joe was the epitome of tenacity, NEVER backing down. Stylistically, Joe was destined to lose. In-fighters can't contend with powerful brawlers. Only an early Tyson could, due to his own power & evasiveness. Joe admitted to underestimating George but after he felt George's power, he didn't back down. After getting knocked down the first time, he didn't back down. After his 6th knockdown, he still didn't back down. That's heart right there.

One of Mike's former trainers , has said on tape that Cus D'amato had told Mike the 1 fighter to not fight is George Foreman . Cus knew that Mike was custom made for George . Like Frazier he crouched down low .. had a short reach and didn't fight on the outside . Mike would have the same problem as Frazier . He would be down low with that short reach . George would catch him with the uppercut when he came up at him .Mike must have thought about what Cus once told him . As Don King tried to make this fight , in the early 90's . Mike didn't take it .
@NeoGodHand3 жыл бұрын
@@SJ-ty5rw If the two were to fight, I'd always give Foreman the edge. It definitely is a tailor-made matchup for him, and I remember what Cus said to Tyson regarding Foreman, which is probably why Tyson didn't fight him in the 90s when Foreman came back. But I'd definitely give an 88 Tyson a puncher's chance. I've seen him slip all kinds of punches, including uppercuts off the dip. Plus, unlike Frazier, he has power in both hands and with all punches. All said and done, though, Foreman was just too strong, too tough, and hit too hard. I can see Mike winning if he gets some good counters off, especially to the body, but with Foreman being so tough and so skilled at using his hands to disrupt guards and off-balance his opponents, especially a shorter guy like Tyson, I'd give Tyson a 30% to win, at best.
@SJ-ty5rw3 жыл бұрын
@@NeoGodHand I agree with you . I think Mike would always have a punchers chance . But like you too just think George could take him , especially prime George . Cus knew boxing , and obviously taught Mike everything he knows . If he saw a problem with George for Mike it's legit .
