True and it's a very impressive speech against an evil and illegal war. However his politics go beyond human rights causes. He until the war had a program on Russia Today, the Russian propaganda network and from my base knowledge of international relations and I am in no way as intelligent as George Galloway, he regularly said things related to the Putin government that he knew were lies.

George Galloway is a true inspiration for all of us who grew up in working-class families. His journey, without a university education, shows that success is achievable through hard work, determination, and a commitment to making a difference. Many of us face challenges, juggling work and student loans, and Galloway's story resonates because he understands that not everyone has the privilege of a free education. His unwavering commitment to fighting for the working man, even after achieving success, sets him apart. Galloway is not someone who pulls up the ladder behind him; instead, he continues to be a voice for those who may not have the same opportunities. Whether we learn from books or lectures, work while studying, or come from humble backgrounds, Galloway's journey encourages us to believe in ourselves and strive for positive change. He's a stand-up guy who embodies the spirit of resilience and advocacy for the working class.

I discovered George Galloway about 2 years ago when somehow this video beat the algorithm and I clicked on it. Watch it every few months just to stay sane. Likely the best but the most unknown speech in the last 50 years.
@paulbattenbough1002 Жыл бұрын
@@margaretflounders8510 Some of the people maybe but the government are sick colonialists ever eager to get involved in any action that brings profit. Ukraine being a recent example, arming Nazis and normalising fascist ideology in the process, and something George now campaigns against.. the people who resist the indoctrination are the ones who don't want to 'take arms against any country' but there are plenty waving flags for the Nazi infested Ukrainian regime, and a vast majority supported the illegal war in Iraq. I know from personal experience the opposition to the peace movement at that time.. The propaganda of WMD'S pushed by virtually all politicians and entire corporate media worked in exactly the same way as the propaganda surrounding Ukraine is now being lapped up by the duped majority, to take us to the brink of nuclear annihilation.

It’s difficult to put into context the magnitude of what George did at that hearing. The global context with the War on Terror in full swing, Bush declaring that “you’re either with us or against us”, the ‘Axis of Evil’ speech, at a time when feelings about 9/11 were still very much raw, to speak to the most powerful nation which was actively engaged in combat in both Afghanistan 🇦🇫 and Iraq 🇮🇶 in such a manner, where many would have cowed to such pressure, is beyond remarkable.

i had just come to the USA from Bangladesh. I was a graduate student. I watched this late night, without much context, but I was blown away by the quality of debates in US congress. Or so I thought. Keep in mind, Bangladesh, at that time, was going from one US sponsored military dictator to another, while US kept thumping about 'democracy'. Well... I quickly learned about Galloway. Meanwhile, Bangladesh has learned how to defeat the CIA (our prime minister gutted the US-paid military, like Turkey did). So we no longer have the military killing elected leaders. Pakistan, Egypt still have US paid militaries which routinely kill/arrest democratically elected leaders. Back to the point, I was full of respect for Galloway from that day on. It is refreshing to hear the truth (no he does not hate Jews, he simply disagrees with the establishment of Israel). I wish Galloway would become the PM of UK, but that is not going to happen. US/UK both have organized politicians to sustain their criminal ways. But, Galloway will sway some minds, and educate some youngsters into understanding what debate and truth means.

Galloway pulled off one of the best come backs in history. He made two senators look like school boys. He alerted the world to what they did in Iraq and exposed them all. This was just as good as watching Galloway destroy Hitchens in a debate in New York when at the end of the debate Galloway had the audience booing Hitchens down and Hitchens was sweating and stammering and attacking his audience in total loss of the debate. Galloway will be respected across the pages of history for what he did to the bush gang and his lacky Norm Coleman and senator levin.
